In the past, LICC renovated our kitchen and built us a deck so when we bought our new house, there was no question what company we were going to use. This was a major project. They gutted the house, built an extension and remodeled both the downstairs and upstairs of our home. They installed a new hvac system, all new floors, light fixtures, windows and cabinets, They took down walls, built a new banister for the staircase, refaced my fireplace and built a new front door.. John helped us design the home of our dreams. He is the most amazing contractor. He handled everything. He dealt with the town for our permits, took care of electric, plumbing, hvac, installation etc. John doesn't cut corners. He was hands on from the beginning until our house was complete. He showed up and made sure everything was completed in the time frame he said it would be completed. We trust him completely. The craftsmanship and attention to detail was on point. John's crew was respectful, skilled and attentive. They answered any questions as they came up.. His office staff helped me pick out fixtures and colors and were always available to discuss my ideas for decorating my house. We are beyond happy in our home. LICC did an amazing job. We would recommend them without any reservations. Throughout, John was communicative and transparent, and his contractors were of the highest quality. And importantly for us, John understood our open concept vision from day one -- it was like he could read our minds. Among other things: * John helped us discover what was possible to do with the house. After tearing down the walls, he worked with an architect to figure out whether it was possible to vault the ceilings and how. * John pushed back on our ideas when they would have been too expensive for our budget, or overall not worth the money. He worked with us to find different, but equally gorgeous, ways to solve the same problem. * John ran a tight ship, and made clear when we had to pick out doors, materials, etc. This helped the project run on schedule (though of course there were inevitable delays with supplies due to Covid). * When some items were damaged in transit, John worked with suppliers to get replacements ASAP. * When we needed additional work done (e.g. to plan the backyard), John recommended other contractors, all of which have been professional and of high quality. * There was never any doubt how much anything would cost or when we'd be charged. When unexpected issues came up, John was clear and transparent about what our options were and worked with us to decide how to proceed. After the initial renovation, we continued to work with John to renovate our back yard and pool, and have recommended him to multiple friends who are doing similar projects.

He wasn't able to come....had a " fire dept. thing. On the day he was supposed to come, we were up and waiting.....had to call again. So his crew arrived...very nice guys. Foreman worked hard to solve one issue. The quality of the railing materials....stinks. I'm sure they came from Home Depot. Treated lumber for stair posts with obvious gouges and splintering. Screws on decking not flush. This was not a cheap job. We expected better.

Paul, the owner, gained my trust instantly with his professional and personable manner. Paul was by my side throughout the entire process. For example, he brought me to the flooring store where he assisted me with picking the flooring with the best quality that would work for my home. Everyday, Paul showed up to the house and checked on progress and addressed anything that needed attention. Paul said everything would be done in 4 weeks. After seeing how well the renovations were going, I kept adding additional things to be done including a large beautiful built in for my den which has become the favorite room in the house. Everything was completely finished in 4 weeks. The crew showed up everyday on time. They were respectful, clean and helped out with extra things where needed. I have dealt with tons of construction companies and never had this exceptional experience. After working with Paul, I now consider him and First Impressions part of my family. Very poor after project follow up. I have a very small bathroom radiator problem. Basically, they…read moreinstalled the new baseboard backwards. This is simple and could be resolved within 1 hour. Four months later and their "plumber" has every excuse in the book for not showing up. Canceled several appointments with very laughable excuses. Showed up 2 times with a wrench and screwdriver only, no tubing or connectors to finish the job. I was warned and did not listen. Be very careful, Paul is very good when the project is being done and the money is flowing. After support warranty, no such thing from them. First Impressions finally resolved the outstanding problem to everyone's satisfaction. The project is now complete and well done. Now I can recommend their services.

Soooo I'm trying to get some minor home projects done. But my 6 day a week 60 hr schedule makes it almost impossible to get any errands or appointments done. But here's where Dom the owner of Hope Custom Builders comes in. I have a quirky basement door which is between my kitchen and back room right at the transition. I think it was an outside door at one time & the previous owners added the back room on & just made it work. But the back room floor is in desperate need of replacing. Then I realized oh crap! I need to get that door fixed before I can put the new floor down. I didn't even know what was wrong with it exactly except that I could only use a baby gate to hold it up & it's super heavy. I was constantly afraid it might snap the gate & hit me in the head while going down there. Now this is the perfect example of what seems like a simple job turns out not to be so simple. After months of delays, excuses and broken promises, he stopped showing up and abandoned the job, leaving our home unfinished. The incomplete work was nowhere near what we had paid for, and we were forced to hire another contractor to finish and correct the work. Taking $100,000 from a homeowner and leaving the project unfinished is completely unacceptable. I would never hire or recommend him.
