One of the coffeeshops I like to go to when I visit Asheville. They are one of the only places that does a peppermint mocha justice! Other latte drinks I've had have been great as well. Enjoyed their chocolate cake and also their GF blondie (although a smidge sweet). They do have GF options which is nice to see in a coffeeshop. Staff was friendly. Pretty good amount of seating and appreciate they stay open into the evening. Street parking nearby has always been easy to find as well. read more

Does the world need an alternative to Starbucks? Yes. Does the world need another coffee shop filled with hemp-wearing hipsters leading sad, ironic lives sipping coffee, nibbling pumpkin tarts while occupying wooden spool tables, spending most of their day clogging up the free wi-fi tweeting non-sequiturs and iMessaging the health benefits of smoking hash oil in a vape pen? Um, no. Truth is, Odd's Cafe is a "cute" place-that is, "cute" meaning quaint for its tiny, yet airy space, sparsely decorated; Not "cute" as in a pink-ice-cream-with-heart-sprinkles-fluffy-teacup-schmoodle-puppy-dog type of way. you will find on a street lined with similar coffee shops and cafes. The coffee: Decent, if not a bit charred. The tarts and other menu items: Perfectly delicious with a variety of seemingly healthy and not so healthy ingredients. Vegan options? Apparently. Gluten-free? Yep. But only a handful of items to cater to the microcosm of lunatics who wrongly believe gluten is more terrible than it actually is. The staff: a bit flaky. Took them 15 minutes to make a simple cafe au lait. The cruel reality, however, is that there's nothing that unique, nothing that special, nothing that tasty to come here more than once except for the fact that Odd's is not as crowded as the other two places just up the street. My recommendation overall? Worth the trip if you're in the 'hood (particularly if you're a grungy, hairy-arm-pitted European backpacker with cat tattoos emblazoned on your neck who is staying at the nearby hostel). read more

As a self-employed writer, the world is my office. I'm constantly creeping for new spots to soak up free wifi and drink ALL THE SOY LATTES. And Odd's Cafe is a new fave in WAVL, my neighborhood du jour. For all my fellow worker bee vagabonds, Odd's is airy, comfortable, and full of friendly folks. I'm a fan of the window seats, where I can spy on squirrely antics in the adjacent trees. I'm also kind of obsessed with the shop's tagline "a little different, just like you." Oddballs unite! I recommend ordering the Aztec mocha (a sweet-and-spicy delight), a vegan muffin (they had banana nut when I was there) and get to people watching, West Asheville style. (My only complaint? More vegan baked goods would be nice.) read more

My husband and I come here almost everytime we're in Asheville. Coffee is always good. I'm in love with their green tea latte with lavender honey. Tess's raspberry chocolate chip cookies are my favorite. They are huge, delicious and addictive. The shop has a nice open area with a small sitting area outside. read more

They have the best chewy bagels in town. I've been reluctant to share this; I'm worried they will sell out before I get there. They have lots of other options too, like croissants, quiche, breads and cakes too. I've also tried their muffins, banana crunch and zucchini currant. They were very moist and full of flavor. I accidentally dropped the door on the girl walking in behind me and she actually turned out to be the girl taking my order at the register. So I was pumped she didn't like get mad at me about that. She kindly took my order and didn't seem to hold it against me at all. Also I was glad too because they take American Express here and that was super convenient for me as well as I've run into some places that don't. I got a simple cup of light roast drip coffee. It was perfect, easy to Doctor up at a big condiment station. I got a great spot next to the big window right on the street. Great selection of pastries and other drinks as well. This is a cool, hip cafe with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. I came here for a couple days while in from out of town to study and it has plenty of tables, chairs, outlets, and WiFi. The music is varied, unique, and great background noise without being too loud. There is a beautiful front window and back area with a porch that is nice when the weather permits. Very dog-friendly inside and out. I tried the zesty chai and salted caramel (both fall seasonal beverages), vanilla latte, and mushroom quiche. All of the drinks were amazing, especially with their rich espresso, and the quiche was phenomenal (a MUST have). The drip coffee comes with a free refill which was also nice. Overall, the menu is pretty varied and extensive including many baked goods and veg/vegan/GF options. Highly recommended! read more

I have been to a few coffee shops in the W AVL area but this one is definitely memorable! Odd's is my favorite cafe in west Asheville. The lighting is plentiful and always comfortable, and there is a large variety of seating. When the weather's nice, they open their huge front window, and I love that. Their mocha latte is consistently delicious, and their pastries are tasty, too. I highly recommend the gluten-free pumpkin chocolate chip muffin (I don't care at all about something being gluten-free, but this muffin is perfect). All employees are so friendly, and the cafe seems to always attract pleasant customers, too. Their chai latte is gross, but I can get past that, and so can you. read more

First off, Asheville is full of fabulous, independently-owned coffee bars. Each has its own vibe and following, and hopefully they all survive the pandemic. What sets Odd's Cafe apart from the rest is that they take their tea as seriously as their coffee. Odds Cafe is one of the few coffee bars that I visited, that serves a variety of loose leaf teas made to order and steeped appropriately, which is a real treat! The staff is always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about all coffees, teas and preparations. Milks can be swapped to accommodate a multitude of preferences. A too tempting variety of baked goods, gluten free and not, is always available. There is an outside patio as well as appropriately distanced inside tables. As with most of Asheville, being different is always a good thing, and Odds Cafe is no exception! read more

Odd's house blend (black - no cream or sugar) has caused us to give up our K-cup addiction. Coming from West Coast, we weren't sure for a few weeks, but Odd's has won our coffee buds. Odd's Cafe has been my regular coffee shop since I was in grad school in 2014. It's my casual Sunday spot to have a cup of coffee while I read a book. All of the baked goods that they sell are great, but the cakes are amazing, especially the Brooklyn Blackout and the coconut, (the latter of which I haven't seen in a while, come to think of it). My coffee tastes are pretty limited to plain drip or espresso but everything that I've tried has been wonderful. The atmosphere of the place is warm and interesting; there is always a rotating art display and the music that they play is both groovy and eclectic. Just a great place! read more

I was told this place was dog friendly, and I really needed somewhere I could work with my dog, so I drove over there from the east side just for this reason. I ordered a latte, the staff was friendly, and the latte was good. My dog and I then sat down and got to it. Everything was fine for about an hour, then some lady walked by us with a cart and the dog let out a couple of barks. He's a puppy of 9 months and saw a moving object. She then approached us and told me that I needed to walk him around the block to release his "aggression" or she would have to ask me to leave. She also said it loudly enough to make the whole thing not only absurd but also embarrassing. Worst of all, she seemed to be enjoying the entire thing, kind of like the TSA syndrome of coffee slinging, I guess. Btw my dog is a freakin poodle so he is not "aggressive." Needless to say we packed up and left immediately and will never return, which is a shame. So the moral of the story is that this place is only dog friendly if your dog is essentially comatose. There are also plenty of places around town that actually like dogs and understand that, you know, they are dogs. This place, at least according to this woman, considers it to be nothing more than a big favor they're doing you. They were cool with it when taking my money though... read more
