Was in Asheville for a quick weekend and had passed by this place when We were in town. What initially caught my eye about this coffee shop is when I drove by, I saw the huge front window open. Totally my scene. Had to get there. We had an early flight, Sunday morning and thankfully Odd's Cafe opened at 7am - perfect timing to swing by on our way to the airport. Cute, cute space... long and on the narrow side. Decent amount of seating and in the back, they have a small deck with doors that open out to it. Those doors were open as well which of course creates a nice open air feeling throughout the shop. We got a regular coffee and a cold brew - both very good. There are also a bunch of pasteries here to choose from. All in all, the initial ambiance caught my eye and was definitely worth stopping in. read more

Odd's is quite literally an "open" cafe, in that the store front is windowless and basically open to the elements. I'm sure this works nicely during the late fall and early spring, but it gets pretty warm and humid during the summer. I ordered a vanilla lavender soda, and was charged a 25-cent service fee for using my debit card on a purchase of under $5. It's a small amount, but I was slightly annoyed nonetheless. To his credit, the barista advised me of this before swiping my card, so it wasn't a big deal. I just seemed a little petty. The wi-fi is decent, although there's a two hour limit on it. I don't know if that means you get kicked off after your time is up, or if you can just log back in and start a new session. There's nothing necessarily "wrong" with Odd's Cafe, but I definitely prefer Fractals. read more

Odd's has a strong working vibe. There are lots of folks there during the week on their laptops and it's a great spot for that. They have a wide selection of teas and snacks along with the requisite coffee offerings. Cakes too! Odd's is a nice, local, West Asheville coffee shop. I liked that the music wasn't too loud and the shop itself is kept clean and in good order. While I am not picky about my diet they have a large assortment of gluten free snacks to choose from. I ordered the chai tea and it was fine but not amazing. I would have liked for it to have been served hotter as I thought it cooled off fairly quickly. Probably the biggest selling point for me is that it is within walking distance from my house. This is one of my favorite places to work. It's pretty calm 10 am - 1 pm. At least from my experience. There are plenty of power outlets to plug devices into. The WiFi reboots after two hours, so keep that in mind if you're on a Zoom call. Sometimes I'm there for 3-5 hours working, and meeting with folks. They have the ability to start a tab so you don't have you run your card several times. The staff is friendly and nice. The artichoke quiche is my go to breakfast when I'm there. read more

Disclaimer: I am a coffee snob. This rating is on the coffee only. I drink lattes. The lattes here aren't bad, but not what I consider good. It's a half star better than Starbucks and will do. The roast is too dark for my taste. They use one of the best machines out there but to me it's cranked up too hot and the coffee taste a little on the bitter side. Maybe it's the roast, maybe the barista, but not a fan. I'd still come here if I were in the area, but overall it's an average mom and pop coffee shop and not worth a drive across town. read more

On my way out of town and back to Charlotte I stopped here to get some espresso to wake me up for the drive. I love a well-made macchiato, so I was happy to find one here. Strong yet not bitter nor burned. Perfect proportion of frothy steamed milk. They have baked goods that look delicious, however I did not try any as I was not hungry. They also have a couple of quiche selections. Gluten and dairy free options for their food items. Used to be my favorite coffee shop in town... I don't know if that's true anymore. I went there the other day with my friend and I was helped by 2 people. One really sweet girl with red hair and one frustrated guy with blonde hair. I ordered my drink with the nice girl, tipped really well and when I went to pick up my drink , it was wrong. I told him politely that I ordered something else. He gave me a dirty look and proceeded to be like "well this says something different." I said "oh I'm sorry that's not what I ordered." He said "it's okay" reluctantly. When I got my correct drink, it didn't even taste right and it wasn't nearly as good as it normally is. All the ice was practically melted in it too. Disappointed in the attitude I received and the fact I APOLOGIZED when I didn't do anything wrong. On a side note, I witnessed my friend get stung by a bee because they refused to clean up honey that was sitting on an outside table. My friend, who works in service, politely told them that she's okay but they should probably get it cleaned up because if it was anyone else who got stung, they would've thrown a fit. Instead, they left it there. Luckily she wasn't allergic to bees, but there were children and other people around who could've been. Way to be apathetic! read more

This is a cute little coffee shop we stumbled upon while waiting for brunch at Sunny Cafe (10 minute walk down the road). They have lots of options including lattes, teas, smoothies and hot chocolate. The prices are like you typical coffee shop (comparable to Starbucks), but odd cafe get a step up because it's local and I'm a sucker for non chain spots. I opted for the honey cin latte. It tasted just like a graham cracker! It wasn't sweet either, which I loved. I hate when my coffee taste like a jar of sugar. They also had a pretty good selection of muffins and pastries. But what really caught my eye was the peanut butter bacon cheesecake. I'm still kicking myself for not trying it! read more

Interminable wait for two meh lattes to go and for some reason they only punch your rewards card per visit instead of per drink (they should change the wording on the card to match the policy). I love coming here! Very spacious and open, with large walk in garage doors at both the back entrance and with sitting windows in the front.... perfect for both shade seekers and sun bathers. We only stopped by briefly on our way out of town but I'm glad we did! The location is nice and the inside offers a number of tables and chairs. They also have a back patio/deck that looked like a place where I could get lost for a day if I had the firm! The staff was really friendly and responsive. We ordered a drip coffee and a latte- both delicious. We also bought a brown butter salted caramel cookie that was divine. They had other baked items for sale as well. Quiet, with exception to the hipster music, all Bay doors open.the back one open to the fresh, perfect spring evening with laughter coming from next door and birds singing. Perfect night to met friends here. So, I'm not particularly a coffee drinker, at least not at night, sdo I asked for something light and cold. They suggested the iced tea selection. I have to tell you, the white peach tea is outstanding. They use a ginger infused simple syrup to sweeten it...spring time perfection!!! I picked up 2 pieces of cake to take home to the family to share. The salted Carmel cake has always been a favorite of mine. 3 bites and I'm totally and completely satisfied!! My husband requested the carrot cake. Haven't tried that one yet so I'll have to do an update later. Overall, I really dig this place. I really enjoy going to Odd's cafe. It's sweet, and not your regular pretentious coffee shop of Asheville. I feel like most of the coffee shops here are employed with bored hipsters that don't care about you or your coffee. Sometimes the music is weird, too quite, too loud, etc., and usually too expensive. Odd's are none of these! Every time I approach the counter, I am greeted by a soft spoken and kind eyed employee who is happy to be there and ready to take your order patiently. Their specialty drinks are always delicious. Most recently, I enjoyed a matca, honey, lavender latte and it made my entire week. I swear I didn't stop talking about it. I also love the vibe. It is the perfect place to get word done and they are open in the evening which is nice too. It's clean and nice and calm. 5 stars for me! read more

Cute place. I had coffee and a raspberry coffee cake. Both were really good. This is mostly an Internet cafe with lots of young adults sitting with laptops and coffee. It was as quiet as a library when I was there although I suppose it would also be a good place to meet up with a friend for conversation and fellowship.
