But, after you enter wearing your mask, they give you gloves to wear. Each room has an air purifier with ultraviolet light. A standard cleaning involves a little bit extra work than before. You're first given a sealed container of mouthwash, since this will get rid of any bacteria on the surface before they begin. They stopped using a spit sink a long time ago, so they use suction to extract the mouthwash when you are done. Since it had been a while (too long!) since my last checkup, they also took X-rays, which are always more involved here than at other places. Instead of the standard 360 X-ray, they also do targeted X-rays of your teeth from various angles. Then, they did an inspection of the gumline around each tooth, and gave it a rating from 1 to 5. Three spots were checked on the front and three spots were checked on the back of each tooth. As you can imagine, the appointments take quite a long time. But, they're worth it. They find cavities as they are forming, so they can be monitored for future work. And the technology that they employ, plus the expertise of their people, means that they don't miss anything. And, everything is handled very professionally, and the people here are also very friendly. They are the gold standard for dentist offices.

I have been seeing Dr…read more Kaminski since 2010 and would continue to highly recommend him; but now I needed to see Dr. Ruffino's part of the practice. I saw Dr. Kaminski in this new practice on January 8 and February 10 of this year. Both times, I had dental pain and asked Dr. Kaminski to x-ray my teeth. The last time I saw Dr. Kaminski, I asked him to perform a whole-mouth x-ray session; however, Dr. Kaminski only had time to x-ray three teeth and told me that the full-mouth would be completed during my upcoming dental cleaning with the new dentist's technician. As I was leaving, Angela, the receptionist asked me to pay for the full-mouth of dental x-rays when I actually had only three teeth x-rayed. I told her that I would begin a six-week regimen of radiation therapy shortly and did not know when I would be able to have the dental cleaning. She charged me for the complete mouth of x-rays anyway and submitted the claim to my dental insurance. I have telephoned Dr. Kaminski's office in December before Chrismas and asked to speak to him. Angela would not connect me. I do not know if she relayed the message to Dr. Kaminski. I have telephoned Dr. Kaminski's office several times in 2025 to speak to him. Each time, Angela said she would take a message. I telephoned Angela earlier this week to speak to Dr. Kaminski; Angela told me I must come into the office in person to speak to Dr. Kaminski if I wished to speak to him. I reminded her again that I could not come in to speak to him in person because my car is totaled; each time I was driven to an appointment in Dr. Kaminski's office, I was charged $ 200 for the round trip. In her ususal huffy/puffy voice, Angela again told me that I could speak to Dr. Kaminski in person. Dr. Kaminski seems to have more protection from phone calls than the president of the United States. He has never returned my calls. Today I telephoned my dental insurance company. They agent informed me that I was charged for a full mouth of x-rays, which I never received, on both January 8 and February 10 of this year, although only three teeth were x-rayed. As soon as I receive a copy of these statements, I shall call the Better Business Bureau to discuss this matter. It is truly sad that Dr. Kaminski chooses to continue to work as a dentist in this new practice. His idealic reputation is being ruined by his telephone body guard.

I made an appointment for my husband for a 9am appointment for a cleaning on a Friday morning and…read morefor me on a Saturday morning. Seems like this is a newer facility. They sent a text to fill out some forms online, which makes it easier to start the process. The staff did ask us to call our insurance rep to indicate we chose this facility for both of our cleaning to make it easier for processing the insurance and billing to us. I see why. I have been on the call on hold to speak to an agent for my insurance for over a half hour. My husband's appointment was the day before mine. He said he was in and out pretty quickly. The hygienist does the x-rays, but the dentist actually does the cleaning and the rest of the dental appointment. The dentist has an electric tool that they use for removing the plaque. He said it's a little discomforting if you're sensitive and can make you a little squirmy. There's also part of a procedure during the cleaning that's all heavy wear sunglasses to protect your eyes. My husband said the dentist has good bedside manners. The only uncomfortable part of the appointment was the electric tool used to remove the plaque. Mentally prepared me that I would probably find this uncomfortable as well. I really like that they have Saturday morning appointments, that worked out really well, since my work week is not ideal from 7 AM till 7 PM. It's located in a red brick, red roof building complex next to La-Z-Boy. Building D, nicely labeled on the outside of the building, to locate it easily. My appointment took a bit longer, since I had a chipped tooth from some sichuan food at a restaurant before the holiday. I arrived about 5 minutes before my appointment. Handed over my driver's license and my insurance card. There was a man behind the receptionist desk, he got up and a younger woman took my cards. She was making the appointments as well. The same woman after I asked if they were aware that I have a chipped tooth said they would take some X-rays. I was taken back to the hygiene room and fitted with the little wipe up napkin around my neck a few minutes before the start of my appointment slot. 8 minutes after my appointment time the hygienist was in and finished my X-Ray for my chipped tooth in less than 10 minutes. The dentist, Dr. Nikki came to the hygiene room about 20 minutes after the start of my appointment. She used the electric plaque tool, while the hygienist held the suction vacuum and irrigation. Then the doctor used the paste to clean my teeth. More X-rays done 40 minutes in. There was a bit of confusion for my first appointment. It was put down for the chipped tooth only. So my cleaning was first. I would have to wait a little while the dentist to finish another patient's resin appointment before my chipped tooth could he looked at and polished smooth. The sugar and acid poster is interesting, especially to see battery acid listed at the bottom of the list. I have watched my strange addiction, so I guess it happens. My teeth look good, just the chipped pre molar. Perfectly aligned too. Not to shabby. She asked if I floss every day and brush every day, twice a day. I said yes at the least. She asked if I use an electric toothbrush. I said a Sonicare. In another room adjacent to another exam or procedural room with only the chair blocked off by a partial wall. This room has slightly newer chairs. Looks like there are air filters in every exam room. Dr. Nikki is back by to me a little after an hour of my appointment start. She was quick and finished smoothing out my pre molar in less than 5 minutes. It's so rare that the dentist is part of most of your appointment and cleaning. Dr. Nikki does have good bedside manners. A few times I couldn't understand her, but she's nice and informative. The building and facility is a bit older, maybe 20-30 or more years old. Dr. Nikki and the staff are warm and welcoming. Out the door after an hour and 10 minutes, not too bad considering I had more than a cleaning done today. My teeth feel nice and clean.
