Upon entering. You're greeted. This maybe one of the best train stations within the State of Maryland. Mainly for the customer service. The interior could use a tad bit of "modernization" however. The seating is a tad bit outdated and some chairs are broken. The bathrooms could use more ventilation. During the summer time. They definitely utilize the AC to the MAX which is a major plus. During the summer time the place is virtually an ice box. , During the winter time. Heat is definitely utilized. They have power outlets. Charged my e-bike a few times here while waiting for the train. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. One thing you'll notice is when the Acela passes by at high speeds. The station almost feels like the "I Love Lucy" episode where the bunk beds are sliding across the room when the train passes by in that episode. Lol. ,No chairs move or anything but you can definitely feel the vibration somewhat when the Acela is passing. The staff here is amazing. Very very social and professional. Always smiling and happy. Very relaxed and calm staff. Greetings coming and going which is a major plus. The overall cleanliness is amazing. No trash cans overflowing nor empty toilet paper rolls in the bathroom. Soap dispensers are loaded with soap and the sinks have somewhat good water pressure. The overall environment is very relaxed and very calm. The general crowd is very highly disciplined. Mainly adults. Some kids. All very highly disciplined. There's an attached parking lot on both sides of the station as well as bike racks with surveillance. During the night time, The station is very well lit to deter crime which is another plus. Overall A++++++, The best part of the Odenton station is the staff. Getting to DC is so much easier than you think! You can catch the MARC train from Odenton straight to Union Station in DC. Parking at the Odenton MARC can be tight but I went at 7:45 and there were still at least 20 spots left. You should still go early. The train was scheduled to leave at 7:57 but was a few minutes late... we were lucky because we still had to buy tickets. You can look up the schedule online beforehand. It's all open. Walk up near the tracks and go inside to the little bldg where you buy a roundtrip ticket to DC for $10. You can wait inside until it's close to the train arriving (they will tell you if it's running a few minutes late from Baltimore). You board from the platform and it feels like you're in Europe. Just keep walking through the cars until you find a seat. The countryside and ride is gorgeous. When you get to Union Station, it's a lot more hectic but that's for another review. read more

Safe, clean and easy. No line at all, helpful staff. The train was on time and clean as well. No issues and a giant parking lot!

What an awesome train station!!! It was my first time using a train in the U.S. and it was such an adventure. The station was small and the person selling tickets didn't seem like they were in a very happy mood, but I did not let that get my experience down. But 4 stars for the museum in the back being closed. It was too cute of a building for it to not be open :( The train wasn't late and the seats were comfy. I love the price: $10 round trip to Washington, D.C. Can't complain! read more

I am not as knowledgeable as some of the other more experienced riders as I usually catch the metro at the New Carrolton station. This was my first time riding the MARC Penn Line to Union Station and I have to say it was a breeze. This is perhaps because it was a Sunday afternoon and you could actually have an entire car to yourself. Yes it was that empty. The Odeton MARC station is fine. The ticket counter agents are always pleasant, the station itself is usually clean, the bathrooms are about as clean as you can hope for from a train station (and they're 1000x better than the ones at Union Station in DC). It gets crowded when the trains are running late, but that's really to be expected. There isn't much in the way of outdoor shelter when you're waiting for the train in the rain, so don't forget an umbrella or raincoat. And make sure to give White Rabbit a try- the owner is very friendly and the coffee is delicious. Keep in mind that the trains are chronically late. Usually it's only ~5 minutes, but I've been late to work because of a train running 45 minutes behind schedule. Also, the station has tons of parking but it gets crowded on weekdays if you're not there by 9. There's an overflow lot, but if you go into work late, expect to park on the street or along a curb. The overflow lot gets a little sketchy late at night, you walk under the Annapolis Rd bridge and it's not super well lit the whole way. I always have my phone out if there isn't anyone else walking to overflow with me, just in case. I haven't heard of anything happening to commuters walking to their cars, but I listen to too many creepy podcasts (heeeeey murderinos!) to not be a little paranoid. Anyway- station is fine, the ticket agents are lovely, train is always late but nothing to do about that. Super convenient way to travel to Baltimore or DC. read more

Decent train station that sits on the halfway point between Baltimore and D.C. I'm moving soon, so this stop will be my new "home" getting to and from work. Very helpful that a ticket agent is here in case I don't feel like using Commuter Direct to get passes - it would be good to find out if they sell RTA shuttle tickets here as well, so mark that as a "to do".... There's a small coffee shop called The White Rabbit behind the building, which is great for picking up snacks and other essentials (see separate review). Parking is plentiful at this location and has been expanded due to the new apartment complexes right next door on the right side. There are some downsides to this station, however... - The ladies' restroom is, in a word, Godawful. There are three stalls, one of which has been broken for what might possibly be MONTHS. It's small and very cramped and often doesn't look like it's been cleaned in ages. This is one of those places where you should really do your business standing up. Ugh. - I get very, VERY nervous walking through the underground tunnel that "crosses" the train tracks to get to the other side. Especially when a train thunders above your head - you'll swear that the concrete is going to come crashing down. The maintenance down there, from the look of things, isn't going to reassure you, either. Other than these minor points, the Odenton station is convenient and gets me where I need to go. read more

Odenton is convenient and the weekday schedule offers some express options to New Carrollton. There is a climate controlled waiting area with restrooms and a soda vending machine. There is a coffee shop White rabbit) on the property that offers highly quality lattes and snacks. The Odenton station building is in need of an overhaul due to an aging drainage system. There has been ongoing discussion of replacing the structure. It features a live agent (sometimes two) available for purchasing one way tickets, weekly and monthly passes. One agent in particular is very knowledgeable, humorous and quite honestly goes the extra mile for his passengers. This station is a commuter direct office for anyone who uses smart benefits for Marc and or Wmata. There is enough parking with over 1200 spaces divided into three lots A B C. A lot is the most coveted which fills up before 7am, an exception would be on a Friday. read more

I commute daily to DC, and the train is the obvious choice. Now that weekend service is available, the train is as good for leisure as it is for business. One star off for consistently being late. One more star off for consistent overcrowding. read more

I've used this location for transportation to and from work for years. It's close to me for traveling and it's efficient. The bathroom inside the waiting area was horrible. During my time of using the restroom especially while pregnant I was disgusted at the lack of soap, paper towels and even toilet paper. I would hold off until my ride would come and I would make a stop by the coffee cafe near the now Ruth Chris. Other than that, the trains were fairly clean. The seat were spacious and I love traveling so I won't complain with public transportation, it is what it is. You can definitely at times wait on a train for longer than usual when there are delays but that's expected. The parking lot fills up quickly so if your someone who has to be at work by 8am, you should get to the station early! Parking seemed to get crowded by 8:00-8:30am. When it's winter; the parking spaces get insane. It's unbelievable that the parking areas aren't plowed better to allow people to park properly but take heed on the weekday parking spots. Get their early and you'll be fine. read more

I love the MARC Penn line, been riding for a little over a year now, HOWEVER, they are rolling out new train cars and i hate em!! Im sitting on a new car now, double-decker, in obe of the 4-seaters that face each other, they are NOT as generous as the older cars with the cloth material. Lots of knees are gonna be bumping. The seats themselves are much shorter from, Im only 5'8" and with my feet flat on the floor my legs (thighs) are not resting on the padding, definitely not comfortable anymore. Ugh. The beauty of the MARC's older cloth-seated is the seats are very generous, cushiony and comfortable, its like ridi g the comfy Amtrak trains. These new seats are much more like the hard subway car seats of Metro, or the hard seats in the Union Station waiting area. I cant believe MARC did this, TOTALLY ruins the everyday commuter experience. Very VERY disappointing. Now when waiting for train Im sure we'll all be hoping for the older cloth-seated train cars. read more
