It was my first time visiting Odyssey Winery. I had a rose and white wine flight both of which were very delicious! Upon arrival we were offered a sample of their sangria which is made fresh every Saturday morning, which was so good and fresh tasting. (Spoiler alert, I left with a bottle). The service there was excellent, the gentleman that helped us was incredibly professional. Their entire facility is very cute, lots of spaces to lounge, including an upstairs which was a little warm until the A/C kicked on. A fan upstairs in the height of summer would've really elevated the space. The views from the second floor were incredible, very picturesque, along with the view from their stairwell. I'm excited to revisit in the fall time when it's not so hot outside. They had a lot of cute, fun, card games, puzzles, and other things to do. Lots of cozy nooks to sit in, couches, bar tops, lounger chairs, etc. which truly felt like the inviting space I have created in my own home. I am writing this review as I sit on my couch and enjoy a chilled glass of sangria and I encourage you to visit Odyssey at the very least, for their sangria. I will be back in the fall! read more

This was my second time going to Odyssey, I believe the first time was when the owners were different. The service isn't too notch like some of the other wineries in the area (don't say hi when you walk in, you kind of have to wonder to figure out where to go/find someone to speak with). This is a very large property so you can sit in multiple places inside (upstairs and downstairs) and then outside in a few areas as well. We didn't try any of their foods but they did mention they have cheese and meats from local and non-local farms - I think Santa Rosa area? Overall it was nice but I wish the service was a little bit better and more welcoming. read more

I LOVE it here!!! I came here for an early birthday celebration, and my friends and I had a blast! Nickie was so sweet, was a HUGE help to me, and made such a great charcuterie board that we wiped it CLEANN:) and the wine guy (I don't know his name(I'm so sorry)) was also really nice and made the wine process smooth and easy! Wow! What a gem and wonderful winery to spend time at. Between the excellent choices of wine, diy grazing boards from the in house market, and fun/friendly staff we were blown away. We were able to sit in the beautiful grounds near the pond while listening to live music this evening. Such a special place where we felt like family and got to enjoy such a unique array of treats with our wine. Cannot recommend enough. New ownership is knocking it out of the park! read more

We genuinely and enthusiastically enjoy this place. Nikki is very welcoming, the wines are terrific, and the decor and grounds are beautiful. What keeps us from coming back more frequently is twofold: The music can be awesome (Tyler, Hans) unless it's simply way too loud to hold a conversation (Ayla - a great musician, but the volume is less like a winery and more like a bar or concert venue, and she plays there frequently per their FB page). The local cheeses (we don't like to eat meat) are lovely. We don't come more frequently because filling up on cheese and crackers isn't comfortable to do repeatedly, and generally, if we're going out, we are looking for at least a light meal. Once we're in a restaurant having a meal, it doesn't make sense to drive out to the winery afterward. Again, to visit once or twice and enjoy all the goodies is wonderful. I understand and respect that they don't allow outside food, but it would be lovely if they had a few other foods like grapes/apples/smoked salmon, etc. Even better would be if they allowed people to use their picnic areas for picnics as many other California wineries do. Really nice venue, but wine tasting a ridiculous $5 to $30 for a single 2oz pour. This is not Napa. Any winery in Butte charges $5-10 for an entire tasting flight or $5-10 for a full glass of wine. read more

Fantastic find! Who knew there was such good Cabernet Sauvignon grown here locally? Janice, one of the owners, is a delight to talk to, knowledgeable, and friendly. Her husband is the winemaker and she tends the grapes. The atmosphere at the winery is colorful, artistic, and welcoming. There is a local artist featured each season, and their art is delightful. One really needs to visit the bathrooms for a genuine surprise of the art relief on those walls--unique, fun, and bright! But the wine--divine! It's $5 to taste the flight, and you keep the glass. I was pleased in my tasting of Tria: a blend of white wine that also used semillon in the blend. I'm not a fan of white wine, generally, but I found this three-wine-blend to be fruity, yet complex. However, I found their 2010 California Cabernet Sauvignon to be the real jewel for Butte County-grown wine. I learned from the owner that the Cabernet they harvest from their property goes through a type of cold process during primary fermentation wherein the juice and must are stored in cold temperature for three days, slowing down the natural bacteria and yeast production prior to adding yeast to the batch. I'm an amateur wine-maker, and I've usually only waited for a day or so in my 70-75 degree house before I add yeast to the must and the juice. So, I was intrigued. The Cab had a great floral aroma, and it was delicious. We rounded out the tasting with their port wine, Zorba. This is a really great dessert wine at a great price. If you haven't visited this place yet, don't make the mistake I made by putting it off. A real find, indeed! read more

This is another little gem in Chico! We rode our bikes out to the winery and tasting room; it's about 3 miles north of our airport. They are only open on Saturdays since they are solely a family run business. Tastings are $3 and you keep the glass. We had a nice French Columbard (not too popular these days) and 3 reds. I enjoyed all of them and the artwork inside the tasting area. Even the bathrooms have amazing ceramic art on the walls. There are picnic tables under the oaks and their vineyards are right there for your enjoyment. We may return in July for their jazz. Worth the ride! read more

Our son and his wife, who live in Chico, treated us to a tasting. We loved it all and ended up with a mixed case to bring back to Oregon to share. The lovely room where we shared the tastes is full of great art featuring dogs, our favorite critter. The bathrooms are works of art as well.
