The links is a nearby championship golf course designed by John Daly. Afternoon rounds this time of the year are pretty fast so I like that. As every course is, this course was nicer when it first opened and over the years it has slowly showed its age. Over all this is still a fun course to play but the grass can get spotty here and there and the tee boxes are a little worn. I wish they would spend a little money seeding the fairways and leveling the tees, that would make a huge improvement for the course. The greens are nice and have a lot of contours which make it fun. I really like the driving range and the large putting green. The carts are showing their age from the last refresh, maybe it's getting close for another? Bring extra ball because you tend to lose some even on good shots due to the blind shots. So if you are in the area and would like 18 holes that are fun come here and spend four hours having fun.

Love playing this course. Steve and everyone else is as nice as can be and even as a beginner everyone has treated me with respect. Its a very fun course with lots of challenges. Playing it safe is not always a guarantee and lots of places for the brave to cut across. For everything that you get the pricing is amazing!

Full fleet of empty carts & 2 people on range..."we're full"

Practice range, putting & chipping area are all very nice....especially for the area. However starter/pro shop crew seems lost. I'm an avid golfer, play 1-2xs per week, roughly a 6 hdcp. I Tried calling the day before multiple times to set a tee time after the website wasn't functioning properly and nobody answered the phone....not once in 4 tries at varying times!! I decided to roll the dice and try to walk on as a single on Sunday morning. Arrived around 8am and was excited to to find an empty practice area, a fleet of empty golf carts and only 2 people on the driving range hitting balls. "Can you get a single out?" Guy in the pro shop says "sorry we're full. Have foursomes all day". I asked about going straight out as nobody was waiting and it was a bit of a ghost town. "Sorry can't do it. I could fit you in this afternoon around 3pm. But you can hit some range balls as the range is wide open". I Couldn't believe it, the whole place was wide open!! There couldn't be more than 10 people on the golf property and there was not a soul anywhere around the first tee! I had my whole day setup for golf, some food, then gambling. Needless to say I did none of it. My money was no good at this track. won't see me again.

In the middle of the loooooong 18th fairway.

Enjoyable time at the golf course, but the starter made the beginning of my round very uncomfortable, seemed to have a chip his shoulder.

I've been staying at the RV park for several years, and staying at the Hotels prior to that, and I've always wondered how good this course is.

The bartenders were friendly and the drinks were fairly heavy pours and theywere inexpensive. Although I did not have a chance to play the course, it looked like it was in pretty good shape. WOGC did an outstanding job catering the wedding reception. The staff was extremely helpful and the food was really good. They did a great job barbecuing the tri tip. The pasta was good as were the potatoes and green beans. I did not try the stuffed chicken breasts but the people around me seemed to enjoy them immensely. The people that did the cake did a wonderful job as well. If you live in the area and plan to get married, I would highly recommend Wilcox Oaks.

The staff was courteous and friendly. The food was delicious and SUBSTANTIALLY better than my wedding food at Butte Creek Country Club. The price was moderate, but not overly expensive. It was a very good experience overall. The inside venue space is a bit small for larger gatherings, our group of about 40 fit with extra space. It seems like any more than 70 would be cramped, though I believe they say it fits over 100 easily. The course is stunning, especially at sunset. The rooms were all clean and updated. The staff was kind and helpful. One issue I had was that the events coordinator was not onsite nor was she in communication with me AT ALL the day of the event. I was really surprised to hear that she'd been out golfing earlier in the day as if my event was pretty meaningless to her. Thankfully, the rest of the staff went above and beyond my expectations. A sweet lady even assisted me bringing in all of my boxes of decor and reunion supplies. The food was outstanding, plentiful, and everything I'd hoped for. Some guests said it was a little salty, but I love salt, so I didn't mind one bit. The food is a bit spendy, but it's served at a country club price, so the cost shouldn't surprise anyone. The meal was served by attentive waitstaff. When the kitchen forgot our few veggie dishes, they were quick to make them right away to remedy the issue. The bartender was excellent. He took orders quickly, made excellent drinks, and was friendly. I do wish there were better or different beers on tap. They carry the Sierra Nevada standards, but other than that, the selection is pretty minimal. Other than the few little things I'd have changed, I experience was pretty close to perfect. I'd recommend Canyon Oaks Country club for small to medium events any time. If you're trying to pick between Canyon Oaks and Butte Creek Country Clubs, I'd have to pick Canyon Oaks having had important events at both. Thanks for the wonderful venue, excellent food, and super great time, Canyon Oaks!

I hit the driving range first since I was early. The range is well equipped with nice mats and I nice putting area. It's always hard to play a new to me golf course since you don't know where your hitting to and where the right angles are. The course was in decent shape I thought and somewhat fun to play. There are several fairways with streams or dry areas so you need to stay short or if you're a long hitter go over them. I kept my driver in the bag all day since I'd rather stay somewhat close to the fairway. Most of the greens were in good shape with one (17) freshly plugged and sanded. The pro did mention that when I was checking in so no harm no foul. Pass of play was good, being a single everyone let me play through so that was nice. Over all it's a nice place to play if you are in the Redding area. I'll be back another day! One last thing to keep in mind, there is no turn so once you finish the 9th you go on to the 10th. You better bring a lunch or wait till the beverage cart comes around. I think it came around like 3-4 times if I remember correctly. I was packing a sandwich so I didn't mind, but I am used to getting a hotdog at the turn.
