I thought rolling Hills was a very good value, $60 with cart. Fairways were immaculate. The greens were 90% good, a couple of patches. It is a link style without the ocean so there's no trees. We got lucky with a relatively cool, relatively wind free day. It's definitely target golf. On many holes you don't use driver, but it is a relatively short course. Afterwards we went to rock and brew where they had $3 20 oz beers and $10 pound of wings, also good value. The service was outstanding!! The casino was small but nice. Downside it's an hour and 45 minute drive from Sacramento. read more

I'll post in sequence. First, they raised the rates. On the driving range, after paying $10 for balls there was no grass anywhere, just getting face fulls of sand. The range Marshall snapped at us for hitting out of the boundaries- we were just trying to find a patch of grass anywhere. The course-every tee box littered with at least 100 broken tees. Fairways completely dry and brown. The front 9 took 2 hours and 50 minutes. There were two 2 some ahead of us, golf shop didn't think to pair them together. Finally after slogging through a 5 hour round, the girl at the bar said "the grill just closed". At 3:30 on a Sunday. I've played on and off there for 15 years. The links is a nearby championship golf course designed by John Daly. Afternoon rounds this time of the year are pretty fast so I like that. As every course is, this course was nicer when it first opened and over the years it has slowly showed its age. Over all this is still a fun course to play but the grass can get spotty here and there and the tee boxes are a little worn. I wish they would spend a little money seeding the fairways and leveling the tees, that would make a huge improvement for the course. The greens are nice and have a lot of contours which make it fun. I really like the driving range and the large putting green. The carts are showing their age from the last refresh, maybe it's getting close for another? Bring extra ball because you tend to lose some even on good shots due to the blind shots. So if you are in the area and would like 18 holes that are fun come here and spend four hours having fun. read more

Love playing this course. Steve and everyone else is as nice as can be and even as a beginner everyone has treated me with respect. Its a very fun course with lots of challenges. Playing it safe is not always a guarantee and lots of places for the brave to cut across. For everything that you get the pricing is amazing! read more

Great Golf Course, reasonably priced and generally easy to get on. Maintenance is pretty good, not stellar, the course is in the valley heat, so the amount of upkeep is tremendous. Challenging course, lots of ways to play it though. The driving range is grass and has the full length. read more

Practice range, putting & chipping area are all very nice....especially for the area. However starter/pro shop crew seems lost. I'm an avid golfer, play 1-2xs per week, roughly a 6 hdcp. I Tried calling the day before multiple times to set a tee time after the website wasn't functioning properly and nobody answered the phone....not once in 4 tries at varying times!! I decided to roll the dice and try to walk on as a single on Sunday morning. Arrived around 8am and was excited to to find an empty practice area, a fleet of empty golf carts and only 2 people on the driving range hitting balls. "Can you get a single out?" Guy in the pro shop says "sorry we're full. Have foursomes all day". I asked about going straight out as nobody was waiting and it was a bit of a ghost town. "Sorry can't do it. I could fit you in this afternoon around 3pm. But you can hit some range balls as the range is wide open". I Couldn't believe it, the whole place was wide open!! There couldn't be more than 10 people on the golf property and there was not a soul anywhere around the first tee! I had my whole day setup for golf, some food, then gambling. Needless to say I did none of it. My money was no good at this track. won't see me again. read more

The course is in great condition condition and very difficult yet fun to play. The greens are tough to pitch and chip onto but eventually most of the putts were straight and true. The starter at tee box one was kind of high strung and not particularly customer friendly but informative. Club house Is nice. And an inexpensive price to play. read more

Do not listen to the good reviews, this place is NOT a gem. Starter talks to you as if it's your first time playing golf. The greens are absolutely horrific, the tee boxes are like bunkers for some reason, and the fairways are so dried out it's like hitting off concrete. Issue #1: Our group of four made a tee time for 9:10AM and arrive around 8:45AM. We were running late and wanted to hit a bucket of balls to warm up. The very nice lady at the front said she could bump us to 9:30AM and it wouldn't be a problem. We hit balls and arrived at the starter at 9:25AM. The starter (older guy) proceeded to argue with us that we couldn't possibly have a 9:30AM tee time as another group had one, and that the girl at the front desk didn't have the authority to change our tee time, basically insisting we were lying about our tee time. Next he demanded to see all of our receipts and then quiz us on where else we golf. Issue #2: Around the 13th hole, as our golf cart was sitting on the cart path, it started flashing something about sand trap warning. Shortly after, the lady who drives the snack golf cart pulled up and asked why we were in the sand trap. I was perplexed and asked her "Do you mean our CART was in the sand trap?", and she proceeded to argue with us that we drove our golf cart through the sand trap because the GPS on the cart said we did. Maybe she should have checked for tracks in the sand trap before arguing with us, unless we rigged the rake behind the cart on our adventure??? After our round she came up to us and apologized that the GPS was behaving badly and it showed several carts driving through the sand, go figure. So basically we were called liars twice on our golf adventure here, never have I experienced such a bad experience at a golf course. read more

My husband and his party played this course as a foursome and loved the course. But if you are going to rent clubs BEWARE. They are pricey and when you get them they are filthy for such a nice resort that enforces a collared shirt policy!!! Please!!! If you are charging to top resort prices and green fees you should at least keep your equipment in better condition. read more

Steven was so helpful and welcoming in the Pro Shop. My foursome played on a 100+ degree day and the Marshall came around multiple times to see if we needed water, and handed out towels to throw in the ice chest to help keep us cool. We had a great experience. read more

Great golfing experience! We have an RV and whenever we are passing by Corning we really like to stop by their RV park and look forward to playing a couple of rounds at the links course. The associates in both the pro shop and the starters station are so friendly and enthusiastic that helps to get the round off to a good start. Then comes the good stuff! What a challenging and ascetically beautiful layout. The design allows for risk/reward opportunities but is very playable for all handicap levels. That's what makes it so interesting to play. We play golf all over the west coast and it would be hard to duplicate this great layout. Can't wait to come back again! read more

I've been staying at the RV park for several years, and staying at the Hotels prior to that, and I've always wondered how good this course is. You cannot see it from the road as it is hidden behind the hills. Being that it's Corning, which is a very barren area (Except a lot of olive farms), you wouldn't think a golf course would be good in this rocky, rolling hills area, especially in the summer. I finally had the chance to play here. This is a fantastic course, it's a links course meaning there are no trees on the course and no shrubs or bushes on the course. It does have a few water hazards, and it has the native grass area that you must keep your cart out of. You are allowed to walk out and hit or retrieve your ball if it goes in these areas. This is a long, hilly and challenging course. That is what makes golf fun for me, the challenges. Did I mention that this is a LOOOOOOOONG golf course? It's pretty long especially the 18th. The course is well kept and maintained, the greens are excellent and this place is gorgeous!!! The cost is average which is good. The staff that I intermingled with were all very nice. Another nice thing is that they give you tees in the cart (There are 6). There is a beautiful putting green, a beautiful driving range, and a really good chipping area! It's so nice that you almost feel like you are at a country club. I wish I lived closer, but I plan on playing here more often (It's a 90 minute drive for me to get here, but it's worth it.). read more

A true gem off the 5 in Northern CA. Having played about 70% of the courses here in Norcal i would put this classic links course in the top spot for the following reasons: 1) Great staff and proshop. 2) One of the nicest groomed courses in Northern CA. Great job groundskeepers 3) From the tee boxes to the greens all the details that help make a course truly a great course are present: yardage markers, first class signage, immaculate care of facilities and course. 4) Lastly, the design. This is the only Daily designed course i have played but well worth the visit. Long, challenging, creative and picturesque. A true links course. Can't wait to return and exact my revenge upon this Northstate beauty...:) read more

This golf course is truly a hidden gem. I drove from Redding to play this course and it was no disappointment. The conditions are immaculate and the facilities are top notch. Knowing that the course was going to be long, I was expecting wide open fairways, but this course requires an great deal of strategy to score well. There are several blind tee shots and I must admit that even with the cart's GPS there were times that I was just guessing when it came to ball placement. By the end of the round, I really had a good feel for the course and felt like I could attack it again with a better approach. The only downside to this course is that it's basically out in the middle of nowhere and there's a chance of getting paired with a Redneck. I promise the course is worth it though. read more

It has taken me forever to write this review. Great golf course!! Kept up very well, especially with the heat the greens and the fairway is very soft and green. They also have bottled water in ice chests along the course during to hot days. The clubhouse is small but has a lot of stuff. The bar and food area is also located in the clubhouse. The course is difficult with some holes requiring blind shots. I had to hit a few shots and pray that I hit it in the right area and direction. That's hard enough, especially when my shots don't away go where i want it to anyways. Overall a very nice course that I would love to play again. The prices aren't bad either. If only it were closer to home. This course is steps away from the casino which is also a plus. read more

Rolling through here on our last leg of our journey. We debated about just plowing through and making it home by the end of the day until the other half mentioned there was a golf course. That did it! We pulled into our RV spot and dropped everything and went directly to the Pro Shop. I had hoped that being it was at the end of the day the holes would be free and clear; however that was not the cases. It wouldn't have been too bad if the threesome ahead of us would stop hitting their balls into the tall weeds - it was every hole. After the 9th hole we were able to play ahead (thanks) and we finished the 18 holes before it got dark. I felt bad as the threesome kept getting further and further behind us as did all the players behind them. Great layout, fairways very wet, rough was deep. Loved the scary creature on Hole 16. I'm sure if the course were in pristine condition this would be a fun little course. Pro Shop staff very warm and friendly. We stopped and had dinner at the only restaurant open at the casino and it was good. Casino is going through a fair amount of renovation - the Travel Center (gas station) is closed as well. read more

Sam H. I stayed at the RV Resort and was thrilled to be there. David and Stacy came by and greeted me as if I were an old friend. They informed me of where to park my RV to get a good Wi-Fi signal. They recommended the best places to eat. I have a dog and they informed me about the pet policy and the facilities that were there. I also play golf and they told me where it was located and who to call to get transportation there. My stay was great! The food was excellent and I really enjoyed the golf. One of my favorite public courses in the area. The 5 different tees gives you the option of finding the right one for your game. The wind can be a challenge at times due to the openness of the course, but the wind is always a big part of links golf. The greens are well contoured and they place a priority on ball position. Struggling with how many stars to give here!! Played this course over the weekend. Let me be clear!!! FIVE STARS FOR THE STAFF. The staff was fantastic from the gentleman in the proshop who checked us in to the retired Army vet who gave us the course description and cart rules. Great driving range, all grass and the range balls were in excellent condition. Course was visually STUNNING! The contrast of the brown tall native grass and the green fairways was awesome. Thirteen fantastic holes and five disasters. Nearly every one of the par fives had at least one blind shot. On one of them we stood on the tee for several minutes with NO IDEA where to hit our tee shots. This course was designed by John Daly and I think he was on the wagon for the design of the thirteen holes then went on a multi day bender a sketched out the five par fives on a bar napkin while throwing back shots with Satan!! I'll give it another go because the rates were very good and I'd like to see how I do having seen the course once already! read more

Great golf course, super well kept. It's a very challenging course expect to lose some balls your first time! But the greens are awesome and the fairways are also very nice, all the employees are great super friendly and the club house has great food! Their natural turf driving range and chipping/putting area is great to practice at before or after! A must try if your in NorCal and like golf! read more

There's way too much water on this course the balls plug several times in the in the middle of the fairway and as you approach the greens.. The tea boxes are not flat so you're feel like you're hitting off of a mound. The tea boxes are also in terrible shape and beat up. read more

AWESOME, Sums it up in one word! A challenging links course with beautifully maintained greens. You need to have in mind where you want to hit the ball. Lots of places to donate balls to the golfing gods. Two kind local golfers, Don & Ron, guided me around the course making for a fun day. All the staff I had contact with was super friendly and helpful. And price? This is by far the best priced golfing experience I've had. For sure I will play again when stopping at the RV park. I sure hope they host a PGA Tourny Here as it deserves it. I have played many courses and this one Trumps them All. From Pebble Beach to Pelican HIlls in Newport I would pick Sevillano all day long. This is a links style course that can play very long over 7600 yards from "Daly Tees", but with 5 sets of tees, you can find the right yardage to suit your game. Greens are always well kept and fairly fast, fairways are in good shape most of the year, and for the price, you can't beat it. Well worth the drive from Chico, Redding area. I know you wouldn't expect to find a nice golf course in Corning, but it is a hidden gem and usually not very crowded. read more

I am reluctant to give out this review because I am afraid that more people with find out about this "Jewel" of a golf course. This is a awesome golf course. Challenging dog legs, accurate shot making is a must. This is a links course that is very spread out. The Greens and fairways are in excellent condition. Very comparable to Cache Creek's Yoche De he Golf course. But for half the price. The staff was very personable and the clubhouse has a bar.. The carts have GPS along with Ice Chests that are filled with bottled water. The Temperature was in the high 80's but I imagine this time of the year it gets very hot. If I could give it six stars I would! read more
