Ordering was almost seamless. We got there at 1 o'clock, middle of the day on 4/18, plenty of empty tables. We went up to the bartender to take our order, and then gave them our table number and they delivered it. The QR code on the table only shows you the menu. It is not used for ordering, which was odd these days. Chill and super awesome bartender with the mother of all hickeys. Good pours. No Skrewball :-( I had the special, two hot dogs with tater tots. When it said double, I wasn't sure if that meant double the tater tots, but that meant actually two hot dogs. Really good. I also had the other special, the two pancakes. I meant to get the sausage, but they gave me the bacon instead. It was great. Well worth it. I thought that was the better value of the meals. They got a lot of board and card games. Very laid-back atmosphere, 90s and early 2000s pop on the music, comfortable seating, and good food. The prices were reasonable. This is one area that I think we are just going to have to deal with for quite some time. The give-and-take of prices,. Smothered tater tots, pancakes, two hotdogs with some tater tots, and three drinks came out to ~$55. NOT. BAD. Was it worth it? If this had been just a normal restaurant, I would've said no. It would've been more worth it if it had been about $40. But... nobody made us pay to use the board games, or the card games, and we sat there for three hours and had a really good time. So based on that, the fact they provide a venue for playing these games and hanging out for a few hours makes it all worth it. Really strange thing was that there was this balding guy with a beard that randomly showed up as a waiter. We had been dealing with a bartender, so this guy, kind of rude came on to us and we weren't sure what to do with him. He kind of blocked me from paying the bartender. Rude. Not a hangout spot every day, but certainly once a week, maybe once a month or more, definitely a place to meet up if you got a group. I was really surprised by the diversity of the people that were there. A lot of chess players, a whole table of middle-aged women, lots of different people playing games. I would give them five stars, but not quite perfect. The rude guy at the end was so odd. Otherwise, great location, great parking, the food was good, good value, and fun.

During COVID, my partner and I did about a puzzle every week. We now have cases of puzzles that we did one time, then packed away! I brought a few, so we could swap them out for a few "easier" puzzles that my kids could do. It's such a cool idea and love it and came back with 3 kiddo options. The store is so wonderful, located right across the way from Eastern Market on Capitol Hill. All of the staff is not just incredibly friendly, but quick to offer advice on games and puzzles to take home. There is a room where you can attempt puzzles and games. We spent several hours here just enjoying all of the entertainment. It's a great rainy or snowy day activity. The bookstore just next door is a perfect pairing.

I had a very disappointing experience today. I was shopping for my son's birthday. I specifically asked an employee for the price before deciding whether to buy it. I was quoted $80. When we went to the register, the item scanned at $120. Mistakes happen, but what disappointed me was that the store refused to honor the price I was given by their employee. If customers can't rely on the pricing information provided by staff, it creates a lack of trust in the shopping experience. I understand that prices can be entered incorrectly, but a $40 difference is significant. A simple gesture of honoring the quoted price or meeting somewhere in the middle would have gone a long way toward good customer service. Instead, I left feeling misled / baited n switched. Be cautious and verify prices before getting your hopes up. Or better yet, shop elsewhere!! Many TCG shops in the DMV! Avoid avoid avoid

The selection was not too big, and primarily consisted of economics, government, or political science books. On top of this they seemed to be a bit on the dated side. The layout also made it a tad difficult to browse without feeling you're getting into somebodies personal business as the tables are right in the middle of the U of shelves, so if somebody is sitting at the tables you'll have to navigate quite close to them to see anything. They also have a passport photo section as they're right next to the passport office, which is convenient I guess. Prices seemed fair though and it was organized well. If I'm walking past I might swing on by, but given the plethora of fantastic used bookshops in dc i would rather go to, I don't see myself really going back very often

Unbenounced to me, the photo that I provided did not qualify, so I had to rush to get a new passport photo. The price for the photo was priced slightly higher, and I understood it is for the convenience. They also have a cafe, and I ordered a cafe latte while I was here. The cafw also has a few pastries and snacks They have tables and chairs outside on the brick sidewalk, which made for a relatively stress free experience. The folks who helped me with the photo was cordial, and there was literally no stress involved getting this part of the required photo done.

Like brand new first editions, they were spotless. Service was excellent. The gentleman at the counter was so helpful and friendly. And I do appreciate that they have a fairly nice kids section. But their selection of books runs sparse and they have barely any other products. Despite a huge sign proclaiming they sell Magic the Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Pokemon, they did not have anything substantial to offer and from the look of their old product, they don't carry much at all. In terms of comics, it's not much at all. They have far more graphic novels. I'm not sure if this place wants to be a book store more than a comic book store. SERVICE: Okay. Nothing spectacular. The shop was well organized and had so much more than just comics -- from building models to artwork by local artists. It also feels like a real community space, hosting events and meetups on different nights, which makes it even more special. My child absolutely fell in love with this place, and honestly, so did I. We'll definitely be back! Staff was nice and helpful and very well organized!
