Huge store, but prices are more on the high end. They have a ton of clothing, racks and racks but I didn't look at any clothing. I was looking at hard goods, and they had plenty, but everything felt dirty or greasy. I know it's a thrift store, but you would think someone would be able to wipe things down. I felt overall the store was dirty. The cashier was nowhere to be found, and when she finally appeared she wasn't very friendly at all. I did find a bargain, but as soon as I got in my car I had to wipe my hands clean on the sanitizing wipes I keep in my car. It is so hard to wipe the items before you put them out? This is not a store I would frequent often. read more

This place is very overpriced and they're not very friendly these items are being donated I really wonder how much of the money is actually going to the Cancer fund I don't think I will ever shop here again .I also won't donate to them either it seems a little shady. read more

I LOVE Off Island Thrift. Y'all, it's huge. Just HUGE. There are three buildings. The first building has clothes, shoes, bags, and jewelry. Lots and lots of jewelry. I found a necklace that I think they were still sorting and I'm mad that I didn't just ask if I could buy it. Seriously mad at myself. The clothes were actually sorted by size. None of this Goodwill crap where you have to literally go through each shirt to see if you can find your size. The shop was nicely laid out and packed full of clothes. In another building, there was furniture and housewares. This place was also huge and had a lot of nice stuff. This isn't Goodwill, so the prices were a little higher. The furniture was quality furniture. Don't expect to pay Goodwill prices for good quality furniture. I had a lot of fun roaming around in the electronics section - if you need a VHS or DVD player, they have a bunch of them. They also had a nice CD collection but I wasn't wearing my glasses and they didn't have those sorted by genre so it was very hard for me to look through them - that's literally my only complaint. Everyone in the store was nice. We talked to customers, we talked to the folks that worked there. I will literally go back almost every time I go to Savannah. Off Island Thrift shops are just up the road in Beauford (Beaufort? forgive me, South Carolina neighbors!). Also, Beauford is adorable and I love going there. So Off Island Thrift is a bonus feature for me. Don't buy new! Buy quality used and save our planet! What did I buy? I bought these plastic plates that have a ring in them to slide your wine glass into so you can carry your wine and your snacks in one hand. They look so much like painting palettes that I bought them ot use just for that reason. read more

Score! It is like all thrifting -hit or miss- but it's worth sifting through because people who donate their stuff here to benefit cancer patients clearly have money. And there are so many golf courses around, you're sure to find lightly used golf cleats, plaid pants, an array of performance fabric polo shirts, and, best of all, visors with coats of arms representing nearby clubs. If you're not into irony, they also have nice things and it's extremely well organized. There's a rack with just capri pants. The place is enormous. And there are Rolex watches at the register. read more

I visited Off Island Thrift Store today. I went to the furniture and housewares building and was impressed with the variety of items and reasonable prices. I bought a solid wood large wall mirror (3'x 4') for $15. And I bought 6 large, wood, matching wall photo frames for $6 each. They look brand new. The staff was helpful and the inventory was interesting. Not your typical junky thrift store stuff. read more

Children's books for $4+, toys ridiculously expensive, other brand name clothing/shoes for only a couple dollars less than retail. I'm all for supporting to help cancer patients but this owner is just looking for extra cash in her pocket. They'd get more money by selling things at thrift store prices and moving inventory. This is a large store that is packed and hard to maneuver around. There is a board as you enter with featured discounts. Their prices are high and even with discounts, still pricey. The staff is not as helpful compared with other competing thrift stores. read more

Off Island Thrift consist of 3 separate locations, this is for the 1st location on Bluffton Pkwy. Off Island Thrift 1 is 12,000+ sq feet of shoes, clothing, handbags, and kids toys. They have more women's shoes than most shoes stores- it was crazy. I live in my flipflops, only trading them out for a pair of boots a few times a year, so I only glanced over the women's shoes. They had a large selection, but I only quickly glanced over them and didn't pay attention to prices. The amount of men's shoes were considerably less, but they did have some nice ones in stock and they were mostly dress shoes. My husband scored a pair of newer Brooks tennis shoes for $6, so the prices seemed decent. The kids clothing and shoes weren't impressive at all. The toy selection was decent, but most seemed a bit overpriced. I didn't even look at the clothes. It's not that I'm too good for thrift store clothes, its just that I'd rather shoot myself in the foot than dig through racks upon racks hoping to find something that fits and I actually like. Its worth a stop in just to check it out, just don't expect to find any amazing treasures. read more

Every time I've gone into this store, I've left with a bad taste in my mouth, but this last time was the worst. My wife and I had picked out a broom that we liked, only to have the owner tell us that we couldn't buy it because it belonged to the store (even though it had a price on it). She treated us like we were idiots for even considering buying it. I will never return here. read more

Been going here for years. Lately, I've been hearing staff yell at and disrespect costumers. Last time we went, they yelled at us and grabbed an item right out off my hand that they said wasn't for sale, despite the fact that it had a price tag on it and was with the rest of the inventory. This will be the last time we shop there. Very disappointed. read more

I love thrifting, but this store is a no go for me. We drove off island to visit and I was very disappointed. My husband and I felt like everything seemed very picked over-as though all of the "treasures" had been sifted out and sold elsewhere. The store had lots of very dated (think early 2000's) boutique items-like faux Gucci purse, velour Juicy cross body and Dooney Bourke bags. The children's section was very small and did not have a lot of selection. There were a lot of newborn-3 months, but I was looking for 9-12. Items were overpriced. Worn Women's Sperry's were $15. I will not go back. It was definitely not worth the drive. If your in HHI-try Bargain Box or St Francis Thrift Shop. They're both super cheap and constantly getting new items. read more

Ugh. I gave this 2 stars because there were some great items and the sales girls are sweet but the owner is arrogant. I was on a girls weekend when I saw something I liked. It was 25% off but, at almost $200, I wanted my husband to see it. I made him drive all the way there that Wednesday and he liked the item too so we offered the 25% price but the owner said no- the sale was over. But she said that we could drive back down again the next weekend when the there is another 25% sale! I asked why I should pay full price when I could have bought it on sale 4 days ago (and 3 days from now) and she said- well, you should have bought it when you saw it (and started laughing). Good cause or not, I will never be back. Too many other great thrift stores in this area. read more

I discovered this thrift store after I was diagnosed with cancer. There are many organizations that offer emotional support, but this was the only one I could find that offers financial support. The help I receive is much needed and greatly appreciated! The store is huge and fully stocked with everything you could want to find at a thrift store. The people are helpful and courteous. If you are in the Hilton Head/Bluffton area, check out the store or consider donating. It's a practical way to help your neighbors with cancer. read more

I went to donate a love seat and some clothes today. The love seat was very worn, but I thought it would be better off getting donated for cancer research instead of being taken to the dump. But still, going I knew there would be a strong possibility it would be declined. Upon taking it to the donation area it was declined which I was fine with, but what upset me was when the lady told me they only accept furniture that they can sell for at least $300. I'm sorry, I thought this was a thrift store? Not a pawn shop? Also I asked if I could donate my clothes to her and she told me to take them around to the drop boxes in front. I asked if there would be someone handing out the tax write off papers and she replied by saying the write off isn't worth it unless i donate more then $5000 in clothes and make more then $75000. I'm sorry but I do not remember sharing my financials with this lady nor do I believe she knows what I have donated to other places. After this experience I believe that myself and my family will be donating to causes that do appreciate our donations. read more

Off Island Thrift has been a real blessing to my husband and me. We are both battling stage 4 prostate and lung cancer. Off Island Thrift (Cancer Awareness) has been there every step of the way helping us financially and giving us moral support. Our medical bills are unimaginable and travel expenses to MUSC and UNC are through the roof. Cancer Awareness is the only charitable organization that we have contacted who has been willing to help us for over one year and without that help we probably would not have been able to stay in our home. I visited Off Island Thrift over the Thanksgiving holiday 2015 and it was awesome!!!! My family and I spent at least 3 hours in there! If my memories serves me correctly the special was an extra 20 or 25% off! We got some fantastic deals! Looking forward to going again this year. read more
