Really great park! My dog really enjoyed this place! It's really out of the way for us, but for our dog to be able to swim in the ocean, there aren't many choices in the Seattle area. This is the first off leash area my fiance and I took our pup at about 16 weeks, we kept him on leash the first few times to check it out and finally off leash the third time around, although we watched him like a hawk, he had a blast! There is definitely room to roam but small enough to keep a close watch if needed. There is plenty of logs to sit on however we like to walk along and watch him have fun and make sure bigger dogs aren't too aggressive with him. Although you might run into the occasional aggressive dog and of course that one person who makes you wonder if they realize they are at a dog beach and you are bound to get either wet, sandy, or licked! There can be a few issues however. Warm weekend days can be a problem, there is extra parking available in the permit only parking with white lines but even then, get there early, you will look for parking 5+ mins and the beach itself can almost be overcrowded. People seem to confuse this area with the "human" (sarcastically speaking) beach because blankets and food items are put down. Don't expect to pitch up a picnic here and not have dogs run all over it. This is a dog beach! Where they can run and play and be dogs, not sit next to their owner on a log for 2 hours and leave other people alone. If you don't like dogs, don't come here and expect my dog to realize that when they come up for a pet. All that aside, this really is a nice place, and we do come here often, although we prefer a weekday in the evening, the weather starts to cool, and its a great way to end the day! Lots of sand, extra poopbags, balls, an agility course built by the awesome local Eagle Scouts, trains, seagulls.... I've come on the weekends and during the week and haven't had a problem with parking yet (luck?). My dog loves it, I love the view, the beach logs, the smell--It's a great park and we are lucky to have it!! read more

One of the Top 3 dog parks in the northend. I live in Seattle but I'll take the trip up north to this park when the weather's nice out. Being right on the beach, this park is really pretty, with a lot of water access for the dogs. It's also really well maintained. Another plus... even if it is wet out there isn't a lot of mud here, like there can be at other parks, since it's mostly sand and gravel here. Helps keep the car cleaner on the drive home! My dog isn't a big fan of water but the park is large enough and has enough varying terrain to make it a fun experience for both of us. It is located right next to train tracks. I haven't been there when a train has gone by though... pretty interested to see how that experience is :) My dog will bark at an airplane if it flies by low enough... can't imagine how he'd react to a large, loud train going by 20 feet away. I'll make sure to have extra bags with me :) read more

This is a pretty nice park, but like others have mentioned, the parking sucks. I tend to only come here during the week when it's not as crowded, Most of the other owners seemed to be pretty respectful, and I didn't see any dogs being overly aggressive. My pup had a great time, so we'll definitely be back. read more

Great dog park. It has everything you need plus the water! Went on Saturday and it was very busy but not overly crowded. It had a sectioned off area for small dogs as well. Parking can be a pain on a busy weekend as its right next to Marina Park. read more

My biggest issue with this dog park was that City of Edmond's site claims the north and south Marina Beach park is a pet friendly area with an off leash park. Nowhere in their site do they specify that dogs are restricted to only the off leash area. In the adjacent park, signage specifies dogs are prohibited on walkways, beaches, and grass. That is not dog friendly. This is a great place to come if your goal is to drive in, let your dog play, load up and leave. This is not the place to come with your dog if you have a family with plans to enjoy the water, grass, and play equipment while giving your dog a treat in the off leash area for a while. read more

Nice local dog park on the water. There's a playground next door for kids. Sometimes the Seattle Barkery is there! The rocks by the water can be difficult for running and fetching, especially at low tide. Better to play fetch in the water. There's running water, trash cans and bags. read more

Great park. I love bringing my dog here. It's very large, and being right on the beach, my dog has the opportunity to play in the sand, dip his toes in the water, or just run around. This park sounds wonderful- the scenery is gorgeous, there are plenty of places to sit, and there is water provided for the dogs. However, it's the people who spoil this place for me. I have a 9-month old puppy who is very submissive. Nearly every time my dog and I go, he gets bullied and mounted by dominant/aggressive dogs. Nine times out of ten, there will be no owner around to scold their dog's behavior, or they'll simply tell me "my dog is so friendly- he's just playing!" It's exhausting to constantly shoo these dogs away from my puppy- I wish the owners would take responsibility for their dog's actions. The park is usually pretty clean, with the exception of a few "land mines" every now and again. The water is quite cold, but on a warm day the park is a pretty nice place to be. read more

GREAT dog park, couldn't say enough good things about it: wide open, a variety of terrains, and several different areas for the dogs to play in. My dogs love it and are ecstatic to come here. Along with the Perrinville Off-Leash Park, it's one of the best in the areas for allowing your dogs to have wide-open range. One thing I would say as a caveat, based on a recent, incredibly unpleasant experience: bringing your dogs to the park means they are your own responsibility. One of my dogs is a pit bull mix (great dane/lab as well) and about the sweetest guy you could meet. The only harm he could do to you is drowning you in kisses. Recently on a visit to the dog park, my pit mix was running around and there were a variety of dogs there: he was getting along with everyone when a new guy came in. New guy's dog ran off to the corner to take a poop and my pit mix went over to take a sniff of the poo. No growling, no nothing: he sniffed the poop and trotted over to the pooping dog, the sniffed each other a bit, when I pulled him away so as to not bother the dog in the middle of defecating. Not only did the guy not bother to pick up his dog's poop, he proceeded to follow me around the dog park telling me my dog was a "problem." When I tried to speak respectfully to him and asked him to leave me alone, he refused and went on harassing me ("I'm not okay with your dog. You think it's okay, I'm not okay with him. It's not okay." My dog took a whiff of your dog's shit and is running around chasing tennis balls; what else do you expect out of a dog? He said 'hi!' to yours!) Long story short: if you come into a dog park where there are multiple other people and dogs already present, don't be the person that expects everyone to clear out to accommodate you. The Marina Beach Off Leash Park is phenomenal--but no one has the right to come to the off-leash dog park and say, "Hey, I want my dog to be allowed off-leash, but I want you to leave so he has the whole place to himself." Of course, this doesn't reflect on the outstanding Marina Beach Park--just on the common sense thought process any dog owner should go through before going to the park. If I go into a dog park when someone is already there and their dogs don't seem friendly? It's my responsibility to leave, it's not on the person who is already there--if I come in and all the dogs ARE friendly, however, it's COMPLETELY out of line to pester and harass someone until they leave. read more

This off leash dog park is great, both for you and your dog. The park is clean. They have plenty of garbage cans, and even provide bags to pick up after your dog. They have fresh water hose available, for drinking or rinsing your dog. For the most part the park is fully fenced in, but because it is on the beach with water access, technically your dog can swim around. If the tide is very low, that could be a problem as well. They now have an obstacle course. read more

I really like this off leash park, it's a great place to take your dog right on the water in Edmonds. Overall, it is smaller than Magnuson's, but the beach is much, much nicer as well as bigger, and there are great views of the Sound and the Olympics. For small dog owners, there is no area designated solely for small dogs, unlike Magnuson. Our little dog is sometimes afraid around big dogs so I was a little worried, but most of the dogs here are very friendly, and there is plenty of room for the small dogs to play by themselves. While the area outside of the beach is rocky and not really good for much, a lot of owners throw balls into the ocean for their dogs, while others explore and climb around on the driftwood. If your dog doesn't swim and you want a grassy area to play with them, this park is probably not ideal for you. As far as parking goes, it can get really crowded, but there is an area of parking lot, along the road before the park by all the boats, that gets set aside for park users, so if you can't use the main parking lot, there's always that. The park itself is well kept and clean, and the owners responsible. We take our dog here all the time, but again, for throwing a ball around we go somewhere else. read more

I just love the dog beach! Sure it's not like Florida with soft sand and endless coastline, but since I have been land locked out west until recently me and my dog baby are easy to please! There was plenty of parking even on a busy Saturday. People there were super nice. Also, in the entry to the beach area there is a mini agility course set up that Princess Leia and I are going to play on next time. I would just caution you to watch the rocks. PL ran and dove into the sound for about an hour and a half straight and has been just a bit sore from the stones on her soft wet paws. You wouldn't know it until you get her away from the water though Bc she would rather die than leave the beach! We will totally be back! read more

My biggest issue with this park is not location or anything like that. Its people bringing unfriendly dogs to the park and expecting other dogs to keep away. Case in point, yesterday I was at the park with my 1 year old dog, a friend and her small dog. Our dogs are about 20lbs each. SUPER people friendly and like playing with other dogs. I keep a hawk eye on mine though, because I don't know how other dogs or people will act. There was a lady laying on the beach with her Basset Hound. My dog came running down the hill, towards the water and jumped over a log this lady was leaning against. My dog was about 5 feet away. The woman jumped up and screamed "OMG, SOMEONE CONTROL THIS DOG!!!" and started screaming get away at my dog, who was standing 10 feet from her and honestly looked puzzled by the woman screaming and freaking out at him. I walked towards her and said hey, my dog didn't do anything to you and he is not even near you. calm down. She started in on how he needs to stay away because her dog is aggressive. WHY would you bring a dog aggressive dog to a dog park?? I realize we can't police the beach. Its free, anyone can come. Maybe we need a sign up saying "If your dog is dog aggressive or easily upset by other dogs, do not bring him into the park" I can laugh now, because this woman made such a huge deal out of nothing and it was funny, but her anxiety and screaming very well could have caused a dog fight had her dog picked up on how upset she was. OTHERWISE.. this is a really nice park and I very rarely have any problems with it. read more

All I can say about this park is go when the tide is town. It's unbelievably expansive... with sandbars, tide-pools, and even has a perfect area to hose fido down post-saltwater romp. It seems to be well maintained, and respected by the park-goers. The only downside is that there is an area near the train-tracks which not fully fenced, so staying near the waterline is a good idea. Oh, and also... the parking sitch is brutal. It's a must-visit, a measly review can't do this park justice. read more

We use to love this park. Our dog loves to swim and most of the time there are awesome dogs. Lately there have been dogs that are dominate and aggressive and the owners find it normal. We were there and our dog (who is large) was getting chased by 3 dogs and one pinned him and ours started to yelo -so naturally my husband pushed the dogs away from ours. The main aggressers owenr decided to tell us that that's how big dogs play and if we push his away he will start a fight with my husband. We ended up leaving along with a few other people as this guy (who's a regular) decided not to control his dog at all. Sad. read more

Wonderful little doggie beach with spectacular views! Both of my dogs loved dipping their paws in the water and walking around. It's a small dog park with water access and a small sandy area. We go to this off leash park more often than any others. Its a great big part of edmonds beach for dogs to roam around and jump in the sound. We have two little dogs and they have trouble running in the sand sometimes so they get a extra little workout when running around and they still have fun here. Just like the other reviewer, I believe the place is a little too rocky, and makes it hard to run around in parts, but its a beach, it is what it is.... so can't really complain too much. The views are amazingm you see ferries passing by all the time. The dogs and their owners are all friendly and I would say 99% of them do a great job cleaning up after themselves. Parking can be a little tough in the summer but its a great place to go on a nice sunny day. read more

This park is small and has no real beach. There is no sand (it's all rocks and pebbles) and I found several smashed beer cans and a smashed glass bottle along the rocks and driftwood. This park also has foxtails which can cause serious health issues in dogs. read more

Now this is not Magnuson or Marymoor, but it is a nice waterfront park. There isn't much to it, but is the only park the can double if not triple in size when the tide goes out. It has everything you need. Extra bags, water to clean your dog and plenty of places to sit. There are seldom any problem with the dogs or the people. What a great dog park/beach! We went there on a Sunday afternoon, the weather was a little chilly, but not horrible. We didn't have any trouble finding a parking space. Our dog, Barkley, had a blast! The off leash area is very spacious for your dog to run around. There is a small agility course (that my dog was not very good at...haha). We had fun too; the view is beautiful and the area is clean. I love the beach and I love hanging with our, which makes this place awesome. Our dog Nala loves jumping on the logs and big rocks along the beach, but she isn't too sure about the water. It's a good size park even when the tide is in so you will have space to throw the ball with your pup. If the tide is out then the park isn't really fenced in since they use the water to block it off. If your dog goes on the other side of the rocks, it will be easy for them to get on the train tracks, so be careful. Also, just a warning, every dog marks their spots as soon as they get through the gate so it smells awful, but once you get passed that your fine. Enjoy! read more

We visit this dog park every so often. It's a really nice view, and our dogs enjoy sniffing around and exploring the seaweed and the areas within the dog park. All in all it is really a very nice park with really pretty views. That being said, unfortunately, the guests of this park are what ruins it for our dogs. Many of the guests do not keep an eye on their dogs. We've had our dogs chased a couple of times now, with no reaction from the dogs owners. One of those times we never figured out who the owner of the dog was. It's usually proper etiquette to keep an eye on your dog and call them off if they begin to intimidate another dog. Other than that, though, we generally enjoy the dog park when we do visit it. read more

Fairly busy with big dogs, easy parking even on a busy sunny Saturday. Wear old dirty sneakers because your shoes get trashed and you will end up getting them wet. Make sure your shoes have good traction when walking over the slippery rocks to chase after your dog. We will only be coming in the early morning from now on so we have time to give our dog a bath when we get home. He still smells like wet dog. read more

Great park! Owners kept watch on their dogs, park was very clean and had tons of room to run. I really like that the park goes down to the water for all the water loving dogs. I think this may be of new favorite. And the kids playground is definitely an extra bonus. read more
