This is a beautiful park serene park bang in the middle of the city. A little oasis of sorts! The only thing I would improve is better signage. We got lost and went in circles, for a bit on our hike, trying to find our way back. Other than that, I highly recommend it! read more

This is a great place to stop and explore the creek and do a bit of hiking, especially if you have a few little ones in your party. There are great views, lush greenery, and interesting exploration options within a short distance. There may be raspberries available for picking depending on the time of year. I love this place! I have been coming to Boeing Creek Park since my family moved to Innis Arden in the early-mid 1990s. As a kid one of the standout memories I have of exploring the park is looking for worms and other critters in the then trickle of a Boeing Creek with one of my friends and her geologist dad. In high school, I came here to run as part of track practice. While attending Shoreline Community College this and the neighboring Shoreview Park served as places for us to learn about local ecosystems in my introductory environmental science class. Some of our tasks included taking biodiversity plots to assess changes in species diversity and taking water samples and testing them for certain chemical substances that may indicate elevated water toxicity or pollution. More recently I have taken to exploring the trails and looking for wildlife on my own and with my family (including Schatzi the Münsterländer). Some of the trails are quite steep and have drop-offs, so something to keep in mind if you or someone you are thinking of coming here with is afraid of steep drop-offs and/or heights. The trails are clearly marked and the trail markers even have very precise distances on them. Parts of the Hidden Lake Trail are especially well worn so I exercise caution in which path(s) to take on a given day. Birds and rodents abound. I sat and watched one Hummingbird eating in the bushes along a beautiful face of rock. The red squirrels (variety Douglas Squirrel) like to sit in the tree branches and observe me as I make my way along the trails. The gray squirrels do too. I have found that bunnies are more readily observed along the paths in the mornings and evenings. Street parking is available at the main entrance on NW 175th Street and side entrance on 3rd Avenue NW. There is also a parking lot at the neighboring Shoreview Park, trails connect these two parks. Trash cans are well placed and are more abundant near the main entrance. I find this particularly helpful when I want to throw my dog's poop in the trash before getting in the car. If you are a human defecator please also pick-up after yourself. It is not like you are being asked to scoop your pee. Storms can affect the trails, land, trees, and water levels. Fun to see how things have changed especially after a big windstorm brings down trees and/or trees branches. Adds to the adventure by honing obstacle navigation skills! read more

I still prefer Shoreview Park over Boeing Creek Park, but I've been going to Boeing Creek Park more lately because the trails are easier and sunnier (less shadier) than Shoreview's. There's still plenty of forest/tree cover, but at least most of the trails are flatter and don't have as much elevation as Shoreview's does. They've run out of dog poop bags many times I've been here, and a lot of the park is covered in dog poop, so you have to be very careful where you step if off the trail. I know this because my dog always takes me to other dogs' poop, and one time I was so exhausted by how many times I had to pull him away from them throughout our walk. Certain parts of the park kind of reek, smell off. One of them is by the 3rd Ave barrier entrance where the ground is part moss, grass, and cement. There's also a water fountain of some kind near the NE corner, but I could never get it to work. I think they disconnected it, but left signs saying there's water for dogs, which is untrue. read more

A fun park in the middle of a residential neighborhood. We came in late on a Saturday morning and it wasn't too crowded. There was no lot on the side we entered on (maybe on the Shoreline CC side?) so we parked on the street right in front of the trail head. We opted to take the hidden lake trail first. It wound through this beautiful, shady, forested path complete with a giant douglas fir that was breathtaking. This trail parallels the river for some time, then crosses over it via strategically placed stones. My kiddos were able to traverse this part of the trail quite easily. Unfortunately a portion of the trail was washed out, so we weren't able to make it all the way to the hidden lake. I did see people coming up from that direction, I assume they just waded in the stream, it's not very deep at all. On the way back, I had the brilliant idea to take a side path which ultimately led us to THE CREVASSE OF DOOM aka, the place where my heart stopped beating momentarily. Okay, it's not really that scary, but with my pup's leash in one hand and my 7 year old's hand in the other, the silty soil made for a few moments that were dicier than I'd have liked. This path also took us across a felled tree spanning the water (verrry dirty dancing) and up a pretty steep incline before we were firmly on the marked path again. Word of caution: the side paths are fairly overgrown, so be prepared to dance with bramble. I wore shorts and paid the price. Also, the marked paths are not very marked, bring a compass or use the GPS on your phone. As mentioned in previous posts, some people let their dogs roam off leash, and they don't pick up after their pups (grrr!) so, just be aware. I really enjoyed our adventure in the woods, I'm looking forward to going again (and I'll probably take another side path!). read more

Great park with loads of trails. Lots of dogs here, street parking. We never made it to the hidden lake as it was not very handicap friendly and parts of the trail were washed out or barely a trail. One of the trails ended up at a dog park with porta potties. But it's a beautiful park & if you are young & healthy it is Devine. read more

We wanted a local place to walk the dog and found this. We didn't have plastic for the dog poop so thankful that they had some available I like the many trails available to explore. Reaching the creek was the highlight. We stayed there a bit and enjoyed the scenery. It was a downhill and uphill exercise when you're done. The trail loops so you can have a short hike or long depending on your mood. Glad it was a nice day today and Duke enjoyed the fun in the water read more

I had been thinking I needed to get off my a..., and take the dog for a walk. Quit being so lazy and get out there. I heard about Boeing creek from a friend and the hidden lake on the trail. So I packed up the car with my husband, grand daughter and of coarse the very excited dog, who loves anything that gets her away from the house. When we arrived we are not sure we were at the right place. There are tennis courts and a kids play area, but we got out of the car and found a map with a few different trails to chose from. We headed for the lake. Which was not hard to find. It was clean and a great destination for the day. Claire, who is 6, and the dog played in the lake scaring the ducks. After awhile we decided to head out taking the Loop around the park instead of going back the way we came in. The trail was beautiful as is went along the creek running down to the lake below. As we went up and around we kept expecting to see the way out to the parking lot but it started to look like we where lost. I was in a state of denial really , I mean how do you get lost in Shoreline. We are not new to hiking but we typically do not wear flip flops out in the woods but this was a city park. We ended up on a road on the other side of the park and thought about hitch hiking or calling for a pizza but we, the adults, we're not giving up that easily. Claire was a different story she was done. "her legs hurt" she needed a rest, blah, blah , blah. So like a good Papa my husband picked her up and put her on his shoulders. The poor man was exhausted as we climbed and looped around then came upon a parking lot. Whoo hoo. ... Wrong parking lot, how big is this park? We were at the Community College at the very top of the trails (I think, I am definitely not the expert on this adventure). We had to reevaluate our position and find our original start point. After a short rest by the fountain on the college campus we headed back on another trail, this time heading down or so we thought. Soon we came to a bench with a view of the sound, a beautiful view. So we took a seat pondering our situation. There were 2 paths one less traveled that went straight down and another long dark twisting trail That is when we heard it, balls bouncing, a tennis court from down below. We got up Papa put Claire on his shoulders because her legs hurt or so she kept telling us and we head straight down what at 1st looked like a trail but turned out it wasn't. The decline was so steep I was sliding down and had to take off my shoes to find a good footing. But the further we went the better I could see it ... The TRUCK!! I looked back and saw Papa, my husband sliding on his but with Claire on his shoulders still .complaining and a little scared. Finally we emerged out right behind the tennis courts. We made it out alive:). Claire saw the kids play area and took off running with Venus , our dog close behind Miraculously cured of her ailments she climbed, jumped and went down the slide. What an adventure! Who new at the start if the day we would have found a place to explore and an experience to remember after time very fondly. We will go back but next time we will be better prepared. read more

What a great find! To be honest, I thought I knew all the parks in this area and had explored them all. I stumbled upon this one this afternoon and was blown away that I hadn't seen it before. It is spacious and beautiful. Several trails to choose from make it perfect for hiking, or dog walking. It also has several natural water features that make it perfect for a quiet afternoon listening to the water. Tucked away, yet close enough to the main streets it remains quiet yet easily accessible. Definitely will come back for some one on one nature time. read more

This park has literally everything you could want. There are tennis courts, soccer fields, baseball fields, and lots of trails. I come here a lot to walk my dog on the trails and there's a lot to explore. You really feel like you're hiking with the hills and the creek that goes through the park. Take the hidden lake trail, as it goes right along the creek and there are some pretty views. read more

So whether you go the super steep way, or the easy way the ending is pretty fun. Don't get mixed up, when you first enter Shoreview Park, if you keep going straight it will take you right, down a very steep hill, then you have to cross a log and just stay next to Boeing Creek to get to a beautiful Lake called Hidden Lake. Now if you decide to go straight then left, it will be a much easier way to get down and it has stairs. It's your choice! read more

So much to do here! Well maintained tennis courts, 2 baseball fields, a soccer field, a dog park, and numerous trails. There is a trail that heads down to the creek which leads to a pond. This park is a lovely woodsy refuge from the residential clutter that comprises the surrounding suburbia. There are numerous trails with varying terrain for those wishing to stretch their leg muscles for an hour or so. The small lake at the bottom of the park makes for a pleasant reward for those wishing to see what's at the end of the Boeing Creek gully. The one aspect of this park that bothers me is that, despite the designated off-leash area, dog owners frequently feel free to their pets run through the creek and swim the lake. I find myself puzzled by this, as there signs stating that pets are to remain on-leash in those areas. Why? Because Boeing Creek is an active salmon and trout spawning ground. Letting dogs run through the creek bed at the least upsets the beds where the fish have laid their eggs. Not good at all! read more

Hiked the trails here yesterday...overall I liked the lush, forested area! A couple of things to keep in mind, especially if you are new to this park: *take a picture of the map so you don't get confused where you are and want to go (signs are few and far between) *be prepared for a lot of dog walkers who do not abide by the "on leash" signs (I have two larger dogs and am a dog lover, but find it annoying that other dog owners think they are the exception to the rule and allow their dog(s) to run freely and disrupt other people's space) *proper footwear...if you want to take advantage of the entire trail system you will have some steeper wet ground and some creek crossing and walking, especially because part of the trail down by the creek is washed out right now. This is our neighborhood park and I love it. It is a hiking park with trails that lead to one beautfiul location after another, including the well named shallow Hidden Lake. The flat area near 175th St. NW is paved and easier walking, e.g. for small dogs, and has some picnic tables, a water fountain, and trash cans. There are restrooms in the park too, but that's up near the Innis Arden side parking lot and game fields. Please do bring your dog, and do not let the dog off leash unless you are in the park's off leash area. We are now calling the local animal control folks regularly to ticket the scofflaws who think the leash law doesn't apply to them. Perhaps paying the high price of the ticket will convince them otherwise. Note: there is no exception in the law for people who think they have their dog on voice control. Not that they actually do, 99% of the time. read more

After waiting who knows how long for this backyard Shoreline gem to finally re- open after construction...its here! Its great!! Love the layout, the small secret trails that take you only 5 minutes away from the main circular trail, yet you feel far away! Abundance of parking, trash cans, benches and even a water fountain for humans with a attached low fountain for your pooch! Alot of thought went into the simple joys of a park...and they got this one right!! Nice to see my Shoreline Taxes distributed here! My family and my pooch says Thanks! Negs~ high number of people who forget this is not a off leash park..no matter how much your doggy comes when you call them at home- leash laws are for everyone and you and your dog are not the "special exception", secondly...no bathroom for humans....got to hold it I guess! Despite having gone to Shoreline CC up the hill from this park, I had never really checked it out until recently. I actually really enjoyed the hike-- but I have to admit I was in an adventurous mood, so I didn't really mind that I was wandering around the middle of Shoreline for two hours and not really knowing where I was going. The signage isn't very clear, so it's easy (at least for me :P) to get lost. I started at the parking lot near the tennis courts and soccer fields and went towards the lost lake. The forest is surprisingly serene, and doesn't feel like you're in the middle of the city at all. After a quick run to the lost lake, I proceeded on the trail which is where things get dicey. You end up walking along Boeing Creek but at some parts, there's only a one way tiny place to walk against the side of the hill to avoid getting your feet wet. It's pretty and you come across this side of the hill that is made of this really nice, soft sand and wonder how did it even get here... I can't even describe how I got out of here besides continuing to walk around-- which led me back to the back parking lot of Shoreline CC. Since I didn't know how to get back to where I started, I ended up going through the campus and down the road. It was fun pretending to feel like an adventurer and I didn't really come across any other people, but the trails could definitely be improved. I'll be keeping an eye on this place for the future! read more

This is a really nice, well-kept park with some short, easy trails to hike! My boyfriend and I live nearby and have enjoyed hiking to Hidden Lake several times. It's nothing super fancy... You won't be able to have any sort of lake-side picnic, but if you go to the entrance at 175th and 3rd, there are some basic picnic tables and trash cans for use. The only downside to the park (which is not the park's responsibility) is that a number of the dog owners neglect to actually leash their dogs. I once had a couple of HUGE dogs run at me (they didn't attack or anything, just freaked me out) and the owner had the gall to laugh and say something about "stupid leash laws". read more

Boeing Creek is a park that you will want to come back to, and it's great for kids, dogs, and well, everyone. My brother and I practically grew up here, and even so I come back and explore from time to time, somehow I still stumble on new places. I am a huge fan of variety, which makes me appreciate some of the work that has been done on the trails in the park (key word=some). If you want to walk your dog and/or walk on some nice trails, you can do that. If you have kids that want to run off into the woods and climb around everywhere, they can do that too. For me, it was always a great, safe place for me to get my exploration and mud-playing fix as a kid. You can walk by the creek, by the lake, into beautiful clearings, and you can still find some seclusion. When you can't get out of the city, you can at least walk here in the woods. What makes this park even better is that it's attached to Shoreview park, where there are tennis courts, two baseball fields, a soccer field, and two playgrounds (and plenty of parking!). There is also a bench above the tennis courts that offers a spectacular view of the sound and the Olympics. Either/both of the parks are definitely worth coming to, and like I said, there is something for everyone so check it out. read more

I absolutely love this park :) It features multiple little waterfalls as well as some water retention ponds. If you get past the first waterfall it can be kind of a difficult path to follow but well worth it. The first time I hiked through the whole length of the park I came across a fenced in area with some very friendly goats :) totally made my day. This place is well worth the semi-difficult hike. It is not often busy and it's extremely scenic. read more

This is a beautiful trail that is very pet friendly. There are several different trails that intertwine with one another and really good signage to direct you. I really like that you can make the trails as hard or as easy as you want. It is possible to lose your way so it would be a good idea to take a picture of the start point sign to help guide you to the next posted sign throughout the trail. You will only get lost if you try to be too adventurous when you have no sense of direction so I would advise you to stay on the trails if you are inexperienced. read more

Today was my first time here, and definitely not my last. Shoreline's Boeing Creek Park is so underrated and under-appreciated. This 3/4 mile sprawling trail is filled with an amazing array of wildlife plants, a real life clay wall- etched with cute little proclamations of "love" and little hidden trails that lead to the most amazing mini-waterfall. Upper Boeing Creek Park is a Shoreline Gem. Just think what a truly incredible park Shoreline would have if it were connected with Lower Boeing Creek Park... which is currently sequestered and gated exclusively for the residents of Innis Arden... If all of Boeing Creek were open to *everyone* we would have a wonderful, full watershed walk, similar to Carkeek Park in Seattle. read more

This review is for the off-leash dog park. The parking lot can be crowded during college hours, but the parking lot below the dog area (lot has separate entrance further down main road) includes a small hike up the hill on a trail to the park. There is no running water here for the dogs so bring your own, though there are an assortment of abandoned, old frisbees and balls to throw. The dog park is a giant dusty rectangle, perfect for Chuck-Its and retrieving. There is shade and some benches along the side but if your dog likes to explore or bolt the length of the park you won't be able to keep your eye on him. The whole park is fenced and there is a wooden play-structure for dogs. There is also a 3-dog limit to each person so it is never very busy, as dog walkers don't come here. read more

It's a great place to come and chill as well as hike under the shade of some beautiful trees. The trails are sometimes hard to follow but if you walk around you're sure to find your way. If you go by the creek be prepared to get some mud on your shoes. read more

Has the potential to be a really great park but a lot of the trails are quite treacherous even with as dry as it's been and it's really poorly marked which trails are which. Please add signs for how to get safely back to the wet crossing of Boeing Creek. Pros: Beautiful, lots of families and dog walkers around so it feels safe in that respect. read more

Fantastic. I run through the trails 5-6 times a week. People are super mellow. No "pathletes" like at greenlake. Whether walking, running, etc. it's just the best. read more
