Jacqueline is by far the best dog trainer in the area and the best decision I could have made for my dog. After rescuing a 5 month old Belgium Malinois I was completely overwhelmed with her drive and energy. I interviewed seven different board and trains in NJ, NY and PA. The first time I talked to Jacqueline I was amazed at her passion and knowledge. I was so nervous leaving my dog with someone for two weeks but Jacqueline took the time and patience to make sure I was comfortable. At first I was had concerns about using the e-collar because I never had before. Jacqueline is so specific in the proper way to use the collar that it becomes more of an attention grabber than anything else. The results speak for themselves. When I picked Willow up from Jacqueline I was amazing at the incredible transformation she had made in such a short amount of time. She came back to me the same sweet loving girl, just better behaved. Jacqueline makes sure the transition from her back to me was easy and smooth passing along a wealth of knowledge. Willow has become such a better version of herself and our time we spend together has become so much more enjoyable. If you're looking for a trainer you can trust look no further. willow still gets so excited every time I say we get to go see Aunt Jac! Thank you

    Franklin - trained and happy!

I am absolutely AMAZED. Mind blown. Franklin, my one-year-old Shih-Tzu/Maltese, joined our family about 6 months ago. When I say it was the most stressful 6 months of our life, I am not exaggerating. He was unresponsive to house training and lifted his leg, marking all of our furniture, on a daily basis. He was very anxious and nervous and unsure of himself and his surroundings. When he felt uncomfortable or threatened, he would react by attacking our other dog, Louie, who is a year older than him. He tried attacking our neighbor's dogs on multiple occasions, leaving me confused and embarrassed. Despite our efforts and trials with trainers we found online, we saw no progress and always ended up disappointed. Franklin got worse by the day. I am a Veterinarian Technician at a well-known animal hospital in Bergen County. Working with animals for a living and having a dog I was incapable of training was heartbreaking. One of the Veterinarians I work with heard the hopelessness in my voice and recommended Jacqueline Zanetti. The doctor heard really amazing things from clients that come to our hospital and suggested I give her a call. Jacqueline is so knowledgeable and understanding and gave me a glimmer of hope after speaking with me on the phone. I talked with her about Franklin's multiple issues and she agreed to start working with him immediately. Franklin was dog aggressive, people aggressive, pulling on the leash to the point of choking himself, peeing in the house, barking out of control, anxious, skittish and unpredictable. Today, just 3 weeks later, he is a changed dog. He is confident, secure, happy, "heels" by my left side the entire walk with NO leash, sits, comes, places himself where I tell him to, eats on a schedule, and hasn't urinated in the house ONCE. Frankie and Louie have developed a dynamic that is safe and healthy. He's happier than I've ever seen him before. His tail was always down, in-between his legs... it's been up and wagging since he's worked with Jacqueline! The "E-Collar" that Jacqueline works with is an absolute lifesaver. After training, Frankie came home with a collar and a remote. At first I was hesitant because I wasn't sure how it would feel for Frank. Jacqueline took the collar and let me hold it and feel that it's literally just like a vibration on a cell phone. It doesn't shock, it doesn't hurt, it isn't mean. It's like a little vibration "reminder" that it's time to pay attention. She spent so much time with me and my husband to teach us how to use it properly and how it incorporates with Franklin's training. Franklin responds so well with it and I feel so comfortable with it. Jacqueline has been available for us 24-7. She's just an email away and responds very promptly with answers to any questions we may have. I am SO SO SO impressed and happy with Franklin, we've decided to put Louie into the training program as well! He starts in 2 weeks and we are so excited to see the magic Jacqueline will work with him. As a Veterinary Technician, dog mother and animal advocate, I wouldn't trust my dogs (like my children) with anyone else. She's kind, passionate about her work, confident and extremely experienced and professional. Our lives have changed for the better and we couldn't be happier. I'm raving about her to all my animal hospital co-workers and my friends. When people see Franklin, they can't believe he's the same dog. He might as well wear a suit and tie. Like I said before... Amazed.

Two doggies chlling in the place command.

It has been a fantastic experience working with Jackie! If you're wondering whether the price is worth it or whether the results are that dramatic, the short answer is YES. I'll try to be as detailed as possible in my review since I know how big a decision it was to send our dog to a .Board & Train. First impression of Jackie is of a person who is extremely friendly and welcoming. You wonder how such a tiny person could handle a rambunctious dog, but she quickly establishes that she is the alpha and your pup falls right in line. She definitely knows what she is doing and works with your dog firmly, but with compassion and caring. She begins by providing a detailed run-down of the program and addresses any of your questions and concerns. We had a lot, particularly about training with the E-collar. Our Golden was 3 years old and very sweet and good natured but being a big boy with a lot of energy he was also almost impossible to walk on a leash. When we dropped him off, Jackie asked us to do a series of basic commands to get a look at the task before her. Once the orientation was completed, we left knowing that he was in good hands and prayed for the best. Honestly, it was difficult to say goodbye, but Jackie made us confident that all would be OK and he would learn and thrive. The board and train lasted 3 weeks and it did feel like a really long time without our dog. However, Jackie was great at sending progress pictures and videos which helped the time go by quickly and assured that he was well cared for and happy. The pickup process was an eye-opening experience and its incredible how much better behaved our dog was after such a short time (especially considering he had years of ingrained bad habits; it's probably best to begin your dog younger). Anticipate spending about 2 hours while Jackie acquaints you with the new procedures. Before starting the process, we were extremely hesitant about using an E-collar. Our dog is a family member and we would never want to hurt him. Put your fears aside and give it a try because it isn't even close to a shock collar or what you imagine it to be. Jackie has you hold it in your hand and feel the vibration so you can understand what the dog will feel. After a few weeks you get extremely comfortable using the collar and the remote to the point where we walk our dog in the neighborhood without a leash and he stays right by our side (I know you should always have a leash). The follow up trainings are the most valuable part of the process, from the owner perspective. The dog comes home knowing what to do, now it's up to you to obligate the behavior (that's a Jackie term, lol). Training provides you an opportunity to get direct feedback on how to better communicate with your dog so that he is not confused in what you are asking him to do. You quickly learn that the dog knows what to do, but you don't! Jackie has trained them so well, that the process is now ingrained in their minds, but the owner needs to learn to "not mess it up." The trainings are now group classes, which is great because you realize that your dog can socialize nicely with others (in fact, they all kind of ignore each other), and you get to learn by watching what others do, as well. Everyone learns from each other. The best advice I can give is that you need to dedicate time each day and practice with your dog. If you have multiple family members in the house, make sure they practice as well (note that everyone must be practicing the same way). The process is not plug and play where the dog comes home and is immediately perfect. There is a learning curve for you to understand the commands and become comfortable with the remote. Let's face it, we owners have ingrained bad habits, too! Our dog was awesome the first day he came home and then after a few days of three family members giving slightly different versions of the commands he realized we didn't know what we were doing, lol. Of course, we gave Jackie a call saying that this isn't working, and she said this is normal and gave us advice on what we should do differently. After a week and two of follow up sessions, you and the dog start to get synced and understand each other. After that, it's just practicing the fine details and really learning what your dog is thinking. We are extremely grateful to Jackie; it all progressed so well! We're finally able to take our dog places and enjoy it. The best part is we can tell he's enjoying it more too because we're not frustrated with one another! The fact that we and our dog are fun and going more places together makes the price worth every penny.

Katrina feeling comfortable in the company of other dogs... amazing!

But none of this would be possible without the exceptional guidance and personalized help we've had over the past several years from the team at Good Dog. Do yourself a favor, and sign up for class today. You won't regret it! Here's the reality... I had no idea how to train a dog. I thought it was something you do for a couple of months, and maybe you get a dog that listens to you. But Anne's approach of really helping dog owners understand dog psychology and effective techniques for breaking skill-building into bite-sized chunks helped me reshape my thinking and develop the patience and consistency needed to get an incredible result. I never dreamed that I could have a dog that listens as well as Sierra. How well does Sierra listen? Well, her recall is so good that she came running up 2 flights of stairs when I previewed the video I chose to include in this review. Just from the whistle in the video. I thought that kind of behavior was outside of my abilities to achieve. But Good Dog helped me realize that training a dog doesn't have to be a burden -- it's a lot easier than you think. It just requires consistency and a bit of oversight from a knowledgeable expert. Point is... You could have this for your dog, too!

Both dogs stayed for a long weekend at a trainers home and both came home happy and healthy. We had a peace of mind and worry free weekend. My 2 dogs jump out of the car every time we drive up to KSDT. I would suggest that everyone attend a class to see just how loved and respected your dog is at KSDT. This review reflects my firsthand, fully documented experience with KSDT…read more I enrolled my pet here for playcare and socialization back in August 2023, when he was a puppy, through November 2025 (he is now 2). These were the exact services I paid for, and from day one I made it clear that the entire purpose of bringing him here was for him to socialize with other dogs, not sit alone at home while I worked. I have spent thousands of dollars at this facility since 2023 on training and care. Not once was I told of any behavioral concern during that time -- unless I brought something up myself from home. Never once did they raise an issue based on his behavior in their facility. I recently learned that my pet has been spending roughly 90% of his day crated, interacting only with staff and no other dogs, and this was done without my knowledge or consent. There was no explanation, no disclosure, and no communication whatsoever. When I questioned this, staff refused to answer the actual question and instead said KSDT was "no longer the right fit." They then insisted I had been "told," which is directly contradicted by my written communications. Tell me why anyone would pay for playcare if their dog is going to be crated all day -- when he could be at home on the couch, with water, space, toys, and comfort for free. For three months, I attempted to schedule training and was passed between staff repeatedly. There was no functioning scheduling process, no clarity, and no accountability. When I asked the most basic question: "What exactly does my pet do while in your care?" I received no real answer. Only runaround, deflection, and attempts to place blame onto me rather than simply telling me what their paid service consisted of. As a paying client, this level of evasiveness was alarming and suggested something was being avoided. When I sought transparency, I was refused access to my pet's records, refused training notes and invoices I paid for, and the owner's email was withheld until I stated I would escalate the matter further. Only then was it provided. Shortly after raising these concerns, my entire client account was deleted, instantly removing all access to my pet's history, notes, and prior information. The timing speaks for itself. After I was no longer a client, the General Manager - who had my number solely for business purposes, used my personal phone number to send unsolicited, hostile, mocking, and retaliatory messages about my private email to the owner. One of her direct quotes was: "I cared for your dog all weekend while you obviously had better things to do than be with him." Sending a message like this to someone who is no longer a client is egregious, blatantly unprofessional, and far outside any acceptable standard of business conduct. I paid for boarding services, and she voluntarily took my pet home. If performing standard duties is viewed as a burden or a reason to shame clients, then this is not the appropriate field of work. Considering I was later informed my pet spent most of his time crated, I am left with serious concerns about what "caring for him all weekend" actually meant. ****Pet owners: be cautious about who you entrust with your dog. If you take a trip or use their boarding services, be prepared for it to be weaponized against you later.**** When I reviewed public Google reviews, I found multiple reports describing similar concerns, including pets being kept crated for extended periods without owners being informed. My experience aligns closely with those publicly posted complaints. I am sharing so pet owners know what they are risking. My trust was taken advantage of, my concerns ignored and my pet's care mishandled. NO ONE should discover that when it is already to late.
