This kennel is absolutely amazing. After being thoroughly disappointed with another kennel I used…read morefor an overnight stay, I was apprehensive to leave my big Great Dane babies anywhere at all. Susan, the owner, spent a good ten minutes in the phone with me discussing her approach to care when I simply called to check availability. Here's just a few reasons I will never use another kennel again (assuming my pups are welcome back!) 1) The level of expertise. Susan knows dogs. The kennel is prepared for all breeds, which is not always the case with giants. She takes care to ensure the dogs are not integrated with other dogs at the kennel (which is nothing but a recipe for disaster). I was not worried that other pups with a Napoleon complex would attack my big guys nor was I worried that my big guys would accidentally pull a Lennie from "Of Mice and Men" on a smaller dog. 2) Communication. Susan either answers the phone or responds to phone calls/emails within moments. She is keenly aware of what is happening with each dog under her watch and encourages you to call and check in on them. I never even felt like I needed to say who I was when I called. I said my first name and she knew. 3) Pick up / Drop off is handled perfectly. She has a capable and knowledgeable staff and runs her business like a well oiled machine. There is no nonsense and no fuss. Just an expert who knows exactly what she is doing. 4) Flexibility. My flight home was cancelled and I had no idea when I could get it rescheduled. This was met with a shrug from Susan who simply said "Worry about the kids you're chaperoning on your school trip... we'll worry about the pups." I am confident that even if Susan had a fully booked kennel (which she likely had), that she would've figured out a way to extend their stay if I needed. 5) "Extras." I thought to myself: "I really don't need the bath option before pick up..." but I did it anyway. I'm so glad I did. My dogs looked (and smelled) wonderful when I picked them up. And one of my pups absolutely abhors baths (which I didn't warn Susan about). She and her team managed anyway. Get the bath option. There's no other way to take them home. Also, she freely admits that although she knows the vaccination status of neighboring dogs in the kennel she cannot possibly know if vermin or other ickiness is being transmitted. The bath is important before taking them home. I hesitate to call it an "extra" 6) Pricing. I actually hesitated before committing to Applewood because I thought their pricing was uncannily low in comparison with others in the area. This should only emphasize the commitment that Susan and her team have to their craft and business. It's not a "money grab" (which is certainly how I felt about the last place where I kenneled my pups for one night). Here's the best sign that this kennel is a great place to bring your pups: my guys weren't all that excited to see me when I picked them up. As much as that might seem strange, that is the highest compliment the dogs themselves can give of the place. I was so nervous leaving on this vacation. But because of Applewood, I could completely let go of the worry about my big babies. I cannot recommend this place enough.

I don't normally write negative reviews, but my recent experience with All Love Pet Services was…read moredeeply disappointing and, frankly, concerning. I had previously hired Brenda (business owner) and her husband to walk my dog with no issues, so I trusted them again for a multi-day dog-sitting job while I was out of town. While I was away, Brenda messaged me saying my dog had an "upset belly but he's okay." Something about that didn't sit right with me, so I made the difficult decision to cut my trip short and drive 14 hours home. When I arrived around 1:00 a.m., I immediately knew something was wrong. As soon as I opened my door, I was hit with an overwhelming smell of dog diarrhea. Inside, I found three large stains on the carpet and remnants of diarrhea inside and outside of my dog's crate. While I was standing there in shock, a man suddenly came up my private staircase behind me and walked into my apartment unannounced. He appeared very unwell and said he was there to walk my dog -- at 1 a.m. When I asked why he was coming in the middle of the night, he told me, "This is the normal time we walk the dogs," and that my dog had been "sick, sick, sick." I was never informed that my dog was this ill. I sent him home immediately, shaken and upset. When I contacted Brenda, she told me their dogs follow an "8-hour walking schedule" -- 9 a.m., 5 p.m., and 1 a.m. That made no sense, especially for a dog with an upset stomach who should've been let out more frequently. This was neglectful and irresponsible. Brenda initially refused to refund me. After further discussion, she reluctantly agreed to a small $25 refund but even spelled both my first and last name incorrectly on the money order she had mailed to me. She also mentioned that her husband -- who she admitted was very sick and had surgery scheduled the next morning -- was the one sent to walk my dog. She was trying to make me feel guilty for the job she agreed to do. That was unfair to him and completely unprofessional. I tried to give Brenda the benefit of the doubt despite seeing another concerning review before I hired her, but I regret not taking it more seriously. This experience was stressful, unprofessional, and could have ended badly for my dog. If you care about your pet's well-being and safety, please think twice before using this service.

I can't recommend Nancy at Know Your Dog Training highly enough…read more After doing extensive research to find the right trainer, I'm so glad I found Nancy. From the beginning it was clear that she has a deep understanding of dogs and brings a calm, confident, and professional approach to everything she does. My dog Kane completed a training program with her, and I was extremely impressed with the experience and the results. Nancy takes the time to truly understand each dog and provides the kind of structure, guidance, and consistency that helps dogs thrive. Since then, Nancy has also become my trusted go-to whenever I travel. Knowing Kane is in her care gives me tremendous peace of mind. He always comes home happy, relaxed, and well cared for. What really sets Nancy apart is the level of attention and personalization she provides. This isn't a typical boarding situation -- she genuinely gets to know the dogs she works with and creates a thoughtful, structured environment for them. Nancy is trustworthy, caring, extremely knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what she does. I'm very grateful I found her and would recommend Know Your Dog Training without hesitation to anyone looking for a skilled trainer or a safe, reliable place for their dog while they're away.

Nancy was referred to me by another trusted dog trainer I worked with in the city, and I'm so glad…read moreshe was. Having a city dog isn't easy -- our 4-year-old Wheaten Terrier (female) has tons of energy, a stubborn streak, and some anxiety and reactivity issues around other dogs. We were looking for help with leash training and overall confidence, and Nancy was the perfect fit. From the very first interaction, Nancy was professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. She clearly loves what she does and cares deeply about every dog she works with. I enrolled our pup in a month-long board-and-train program while I was getting married, and Nancy made the experience completely stress-free. She stayed in constant communication, sending regular updates, photos, and videos that showed the progress and the specific behaviors being worked on -- plus advice for us as owners to reinforce at home. When our dog came back, the difference was night and day. She's calmer, more responsive, and walks beautifully on a leash with far fewer distractions. Her reactivity around other dogs has improved dramatically, and she seems much more confident overall. Even after the program ended, Nancy went above and beyond -- she included additional follow-up lessons at no cost and still checks in to see how things are going. Her board-and-train setup is amazing too: the dogs aren't kept in kennels but get to enjoy the outdoors, sunshine, and plenty of attention and enrichment. I can't recommend Know Your Dog and Nancy enough for anyone looking for dog training, board-and-train programs, or boarding with a personal touch. Nancy truly changed our dog's behavior -- and our lives -- for the better.
