We went on a friday night, having made reservations on open table. it's a cute cozy place but an extremely loud group of women were seated next to us. And the live singer wasn't very good, sorry to say. We started with spinach dip which was more like cheese soup and these giant fried wontons as chips. Weird and not really good. The beet salad was just ok. For main, got chicken with basalmic fig sauce and it was just ok. The sweet potatoes and asparagus had zero seasoning. My husband liked his eggplant dish so that's good. We came here for an early dinner with a large group. I was excited about trying this place as it seems to be a fun, little bistro. The ambience and decor were cozy, quaint, and inviting. For an appetizer, I ordered the sweet potato gnocchi off the specials menu. The gnocchi were very good but the amount of sauce that they were served in was excessive. I thought it was a bowl of soup when it first arrived, but I did enjoy it. For my entree, I ordered the cavatelli with sausage and pink sauce. It was delicious- well-seasoned, piping hot, and satisfying. The service was not great. Our waitress took our drink orders and it was quite a long period of time before we actually got the drinks. We didn't all get our drinks at the same time or even remotely close to the same time. We arrived at 5 pm and the restaurant was relatively empty, so it's difficult to understand the poor service. We had to ask several times for water. She never took a second drink order. She never took the dirty plates away. We rarely saw her, but don't worry , a 20% gratuity was already added to the bill for us since we were a group of more than 6. Clearly, our server wasn't much concerned with being good at her job because she knew she was getting the built-in tip. Reading through the prior comments it looks like this is an on-going issue. Also worth mentioning, it was absolutely freezing inside the restaurant. We were told that the heat takes a while to come up. Well, we were there for hours and it never warmed up. I was very sad to hear that Left Coast Kitchen & Cocktails did not survive the Covid shutdown. Off the Brook took over this space and they have done zero renovations but close off the open kitchen. The booths were ripped and it was runned down. We made a reservation for a Wednesday night but there were only 3 tables sat when we walked in. It's very confusing, the bartender was helping us as well as a waitress but both were not attentive. We actually had to get up and go to the bar at one point in order to get a second round of drinks. Our waitress was in a foot/leg cast and it was just a little hard to watch when she was hobbling around. I feel like maybe she should've taken some time off before coming back to work. The food was also very confusing. The appetizers were amazing and the entrees were medicore. The caprese empanadas were dynamite as well as the cauliflower bites. The flatbread was OK, would've been a better choice to not have red sauce on it with the other toppings. It just didn't go well. The burger was good but the pasta flight was so disappointing. No flavor whatsoever, sauce was not good, no salt, just a big miss. All in all, for the price of this place, I'd skip it. Maybe go for apps and a drink at the bar but that's about it. read more

I recently ate dinner here with a friend on quick trip to New York. This place was highly recommended by friends who drink because they have a great bar. Immediately when I walked in I loved it. The ambiance and lighting was dim, but cozy and warm inside. I ordered the ravioli on the special menu and it was delicious. Their French onion soup came out piping hot and very tasty. I also had their apple tart ice cream for dessert- to die for. Our server was a sweet blonde Irish girl who gave wonderful service that (Tuesday) night. Hubs and I came for a long overdue date night. Upon first walking in, the words cozy rustic come to mind. It's not huge but has a great ambiance. We sat in a booth by the bar as per the waiter so that we could partake in happy hour specials (the fact that he told us that when seating us was very much appreciated). We both ordered some margaritas--mine an original and his a spicy pineapple jalapeño margarita. Mine was delicious with a mild flavor, his was definitely SPICY. I made the mistake of trying it and then my mouth burned for a while after, he very much enjoyed it though. For food we decided to order some small plates to share first. We ordered the chorizo tacos, zucchini chips and burrata flat bread. The zucchini chips were so thin and crispy served with a marinare sauce for dipping. The burrata flat bread was absolutely delicious with perfectly creamy burrata and a sweet balsamic glaze. It was also topped with prosciutto which I could have gone for more on top but it was still enjoyed. The chorizo tacos were probably our least favorite but still yummy. It was less chorizo and more filler which I didn't necessarily mind since it had a bit of a kick from jalapeño and some spicy sauce. We then both got the burrata burger (I really can't ever turn down anything burrata). When we first got it we were like how are we eating this but nonetheless we found a way! The flavors and the hot and cold went together like a party in your mouth. He is a big burger guy and said it was the best burger he has had in a long time . I had the beets and goat cheese salad which was ok but very few beets and very little cheese. Ate dinner here a few weeks ago for the first time since this place changed over from Left Coast Kitchen. Not sure if ownership changed as well, but alas my beloved breakfast spot is gone... Ordered the charcuterie board as an appetizer which wasn't bad, but it kind of felt like everything was just thrown together. And the veal special was actually very good... My main complaints here were that the service was VERY slow, and while the live music was a nice touch, it's a small location. So as you can imagine, the sound carries and it can be hard to keep up a conversation. Also, it seemed like this became somewhat of a "locals" joint, where everyone there knew everyone (including the staff), so needless to say I felt a little out of place. That being said, I do plan on returning to check out the new brunch menu that launched. Went here with friends a few weeks ago. It was a fun evening. The other ladies had the Goose Flight and really enjoyed them. As I'm not a fan of vodka I opted for The Brook signature cocktail and was delicious. Our food was excellent from the flight of pasta to the wings and the sweet potato pillows (my favorite). Two in our group had the linguini and clams and were very happy as was one who had a burger. Must say there was so much food the portions are very generous hence one order of cannoli to split! The chips were super crunchy, not too greasy, and the perfect amount of seasoning and Parmesan. Gnocchi were good. Sauce is on the sweet side but very tasty. Dinner was Warm Salad with blackened salmon. Salad was delicious and big enough for 2. Salmon was prepared perfectly. I had the burger with bacon and cheddar. I'm honestly struggling to find the words to describe the food. I was in a VERY bad mood going in here, and I thought nothing would help improve it. First bite of their mussels over fries and I was in heaven. It was SO GOOD. Who knew "soggy fries" would be something I'd dream about later?!? And I thought okay that was it. That was their best dish and nothing else can top it. Boy was I wrong or what... They brought out the truffle hummus. I tell you, I'm middle eastern, and I've never had hummus this good. The calamari appetizer is classic style and comes with both a chipotle sauce and marinara which were both really good.
