Our company had an account with Office Depot for many years but continuous terrible service (a whole other issue I'd be happy to write out) with them and we finally stopped. Not a well run store or company. They also kept sending junk mail to our office. I called and called and called to have them take our address off their list. Every time I'd be told "okay you're removed" (long after deleting our account with them) and nothing was ever done. Yet again, for the 20th time, we received their junk mail sent to our office yet again. I called, yet again and the person said to me "I'm going to be honest, we never delete your account info." So despite the fact I've told them we will never, ever use their company for anything ever again, they think by bombarding us with their junk mail, something we've asked the to stop doing, we'll come back and use them again. Note: numerous times I called the person on the phone would say "yes, you are removed now" and they literally did nothing. The person I just talked to was at least honest with me and transferred me to another department that supposedly can help where you just sit there on hold for an hour hearing "this is how we do it' over and over and over (man, if you don't like that song you're in trouble). I am still on hold as I write this. We previously spent thousands of dollars with this company but with "service" like this, you can see why we do not use them anymore. Thousands and thousands of future dollars down the drain. I guess it's no big deal to them. Staples, folks. That's the way to go - and yeah, they have issues, but nothing as bad as this company. This item is extremely difficult to find but the item arrived, correctly, in standard shipping time. It fits perfectly into a standard 3 ring binder. My documents are now safely contained and stored. I purchased a Serta office chair from Office Depot. Chair #1 had a broken base so I returned it. Chairs #2, #3, #4 all had more padding on the left side of the seat cushion than the right side so I could only sit at an angle. Chairs #2, #3,#4 were returned to the store. Then I sat in the Fennington floor model and liked it so I tried to purchase it. After waiting in line the store associate said they only had one black and one brown chair in the system so they couldn't sell me the chair. I told them the only floor model was brown so that means the black one is in stock. I don't care about color, so I will buy the one in stock. They refused to sell it and refused to order one for me online. I went home and ordered the Fennington from Amazon (which was $50 cheaper for the same model), but the local Office Depot delivered it because it is apparently made for them exclusively. I then assembled the chair. When I sat in it I found out that the gas lift did not lower the chair enough so that my feet dangled in the air. With the store model my feet were flat on the floor and I am average height. Either the star base had a hole that was too narrow so the gas lift could not get fully inserted, or the gas lift itself was not able to compress to the proper height. I contacted the phone number on the instruction booklet and it was Office Depot customer service. I asked them to send me a new gas lift and star base or set up a time with my local Office Depot to diagnose which part was the problem and give me the correct part. They refused and sent me to Corporate. Corporate also refused to send me the parts. They gave me a phone number for a third party seller where I could PAY FOR the defective parts. The third party told me they get lots of calls from Office Depot customers and O.D. doesn't honor their warranty. 5 chairs and all of them defective! I was the credit risk manager for North America for the business services division of Office Depot for nearly a decade. My last few years there I had discovered hundreds of thousands of dollars of fraud from schools counties and government agencies. Of the investigation I started it ran from 1995 to 2010. I did everything possible reducing credit limits on these 30 day net accounts along with attempting to lower credit limits on these customers with large balances that have not paid Office Depot. The problem is if a specific school placed an order for $10,000 the sales rep would increase it by $20,000 so the school doesn't actually owe the money and are not past due. Yet Office Depot continued to try and collect from these customers that never ordered to begin with. by February 2009 I was instructed to go to Montego Bay Jamaica in April to train the outsourcing company of which I had never done before because this was not within my purview of responsibility at Office Depot. On the second day I was drugged beaten and head to the back of the head with a hammer. Your next question would be to ask if Office Depot helped me and the answer would be no. The workers comp doctor prescribed me a mountain medication's that I did not need and I knew that Office Depot would do everything possible because of the responsibility that they would incur. The problem is is they totally disregarded my recovery which made things worse and now on permanent disability with no end in sight. I'm not sure anyone out there really cared at that corporate headquarters regarding my health and recovery. Why would anybody order office supplies from such a company? I wanted to cancel a curbside order online but it would not let me. So, I checked the FAQ section to see what I needed to do. It says to call the local store to cancel. I called the local store and was told that I needed to call the 800 number. So I called the 800 number and had a very difficult time reaching a person. When I finally reached a person, they suddenly couldn't hear me after explaining I wanted to cancel. I decided to give it some time before trying again so I didn't get upset over something so small. I noticed the site says your order will be cancelled after 5 days if you don't pick it up. It's 10 days later and now says that it was picked up. Interesting. So I called the store and the associate told me the item is still there. So I take it Office Depot is really just hurting for money so badly they make it super difficult to cancel any way other than going into the store. Wtaf. read more

As a teacher, I've had to buy a lot of supplies over the years. Office Max used to have teacher appreciation day in August. Not this year, after Office Despot bought them. Now I find out that after combining both Teacher accounts they wipe out any "points" you earn by recycling toner cartridges within a few months. (I've turned in over a dozen this year) Newsflash: most teachers only get budget dollars at the beginning of the year, in August, so we wait to buy then. WAY TO STICK IT TO TEACHERS, GREEDY MONOPOLY. I'm hoping to reach Office Depot headquarters and my research shows this address. I'm surprised to see so little activity on this page, but anyway, here goes.... I guess it's been a while since I last used my Office Depot credit card. I received a reminder in my USPS mail delivery over the weekend. It included a 2 page billing statement that showed my $0.00 balance, along with a 3rd page suggesting that I use my card before August to keep my account open. Clearly, if you're reminding me that I've had no recent activity on my account I don't need a 2 page billing statement to show that. I'm well aware of what credit card accounts I use, and when. All that was needed was the 1 page reminder letter. It makes me wonder how many others received this complete waste of paper?? One would think a company as big as Office Depot/OfficeMax would understand the need to CONSERVE paper, not waste it in this manner! Now to decide if I want to support a company that cares so little about our environment and its ever-dwindling resources. I'm currently leaning toward NO Thank You! We ordered a printer for our office last week and we chose expedited shipping because we really need it. Our main printer broke down. The next day, our order was cancelled because they couldn't verify our billing address. We called them over the phone and they told us everything's ok and they will release our order. 2 days later, our order is still not in so we called them back 3 times just to verify our billing address. They assured us that everything will be sorted out. 2 days later, we are still waiting for the order. They gave the same excuse. Finally, out of frustration, we gave up and cancelled the order. Ordered 2 flash drives online and received them within a couple of days. Decided I wanted more for gifts so I went online and ordered five more. Said they were only available in-store and there were 4 in my store. I ordered them and it said the order had gone through. COOL. The next day I get an email saying they were no longer available. So I went back online to see they were available but the price had gone up. Both prices were marked as clearance prices. So it went from $5.00 clearance to a $9.00 clearance price (?) WTF ! You can afford your $132 million headquarters but you can't stand good for a five dollar flash drive? You know what they say about greed, some people are so poor all they have is money. One star is too many for this company. Ordered an item that said it was available for free 1-3 Day shipping. Estimated delivery day was 11/23/2017 for an item ordered on 11/21/2017. Not bad when trying to beat the holiday madness. 11/23/2017 I waited all day at home, why? Because the item was $484.48. At around 3pm the order was scheduled for re-delivery...how? No idea. So I call to see if they are saying they attempted to deliver but couldn't, which I knew would be a lie as my home office window faces my front door. They said my package wasn't even in my state. There goes the 1-3 day shipping. New ETA of 11/27/2017 was now showing. 11/27/2017 came and went under the same scenario, except this time it showed delayed. So I called again. When I asked if it was delayed, the customer service rep said they cancelled it. WHY? No frikkin idea. So I state that they should re-ship another item because I have been waiting for the package and no attempt of delivery had been made. Long story short, 4.5 almost 5 hours total of speaking to incompetent staff it is now 3pm PST 11/29/2017 and I neither have my item nor my money. I vow that not only will I never shop with this company again, but the 3 large businesses, 2 large single location corps and a 26 office corp, that I am an account controller for, hence I manage AR AP and Auditing for, and we need a lot of supplies and furniture, will never order from them again either. I will turn my business to staples or quill. I will also make sure my mother and her 13 location company will also never order from them. I got no way and was placed on hold 4 times - the last time placed on hold the line dropped. I have communicated via email to customer service 3 times - no reply. I placed an order online with Office Depot back on 1/18/2016. To-date, the order has shipped in parts with a majority of the more costly items still in the "processing" state even though my credit card was charged for them back in January. Office Depot has done a horrid job of communicating any sort of updates with me and all attempts to contact someone for updates on the status have been done by me. This is NOT the way to retain existing customers or attract new customers. One star is too high of a rating. We ordered a desk from the local store on 6/21, to be delivered on 6/27. Delivery date was changed to 7/12. That was fine, but when 7/12 came and the delivery arrived the product was damaged beyond use. The driver indicated he would take care of reorder and deliver on 7/19. On 7/18 we checked to make sure delivery was rescheduled to 7/19 and found out it wasn't with no idea from Office Depot when redelivery would happen. We elected at that time to cancel the order and are still waiting for a refund. Customer service staff is not helpful at all, can't get straight answers. If I could rate it a 0 stars, I would. I ordered a few hundred dollars of office supplies on 1/11 with extra shipping fee to have overnight delivery by 1/12 as I needed them for a youth basketball tournament. They didn't arrive on 1/12, or 1/13, or 1/14, or 1/15.....you get the picture. It is now 1/24 and several phone calls later they still haven't arrived - nor can they tell me when they will. All they can say is that they will email the internal corporate resolution team. 4 times they have told me this - still no package - or phone call. I have left several requests to have a supervisor call me. No phone call. I have asked several times for the customer service rep to just overnight me a new order. They tell me they can't unless I pay again. Why would I pay another $300+ for some supplies that I have already purchased and haven't arrived??? The worse company I ever dealt with. Last year I bought a "meza collection" cabinet, book case, chair, wall unit at a cost of $622.59. When they arrived, I had hired a repairman to assemble paying him by the hour. Many defective parts and I had to leave each time the part was defective to return to store and get replacement. Incidentally they would not take it back. This happened with three different items. It cost me quite a bit as I was paying $25.00 an hour to have it set up. Office Depot finally got back to me and said they would reimburse me $100. Never saying it would be in the form of a credit. Then I received another call because the cabinet was defective as well and they said I would get another $100 refund. That never came. My bottom drawer is still glued together with guerrilla glue and I can't hang my files up. I wrote to them for over a year but to this date have had no response. Would never recommend anyone buying in this store. If its furniture, it will be defective and you will be ignored. read more

I was in crisis with my PC 3 weeks ago when I found Office Depot has a computer repair service. When I took it into the store, the counter person called their "computer tech" to come to look at it. His name tag indicated a different position in the store so I asked was he really the computer tech. He said yes he had just been promoted to assistant manager but was also the only tech they had. Several tries over a 4 day period ( I went to the store every day thinking it was fixed) but it wasn't. He said what I needed to do was buy Windows 10 so I could upgrade and then buy their tech services contract in case I had more problems. I had to buy the software from another store, they don't carry it. Believing what they told me I did what they requested. Once I got the PC home, I found I could not access any of my information, neither could I reach tech services. I took the PC BACK to the store and spoke with another person that said HE was the tech. He told me the other person was not certified to work on computers and shouldn't touch them, he was a salesperson. I told him what had happened to my computer and he said he could have fixed it AND put the Windows update on at no charge. He also said tech #1 would NOT let him look at the computer at all. As soon as I turned the PC on a few hours later, I got a warning from Firefox that someone had tried to breach the firewall and get into my computer. What they fail to tell you is that their tech service has open access to your computer 24/7. When they install their service it leaves unfettered access. I personally do not want 3rd party access to my PC so I had them remove the service. The second part of my complaint (other than the lies and the incompetence) is the fact I still do not have my refund. In reading what the other unhappy customers have written, I wonder if I ever will. I will NEVER buy another thing from Office Depot. Obviously, they don't care. read more

I wonder if anyone knows that although this is the address (Boca Raton Fl) the representatives are from India offshore center of office Depot. I know this because I asked the representative where he was calling from. Did some investigative work and found this information out on my own. So whenever you need to make a complaint about this company when you order online from them this is the address to forward your complaint (s)to. Just a bit of information. I will never order any merchandise or recommend Office Depot to anyone, especially online. As a matter of fact I am writing a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and to other review sites to warn people not to do business with this company. I have purchased a file cabinet and my credit card was charged twice. I was told that this would be canceled and even received the email. I talked to the first representative who said she canceled the first order. Then I spoke to a second representative who said the first representative did it wrong and would do it over again. The third representative said the second representative did it wrong and would make sure the money is returned back to my debit card but of course that didn't happen. The fourth representative told me that he would give me an authority number to call my bank and allow my back to release the funds that Office Depot charged me. Of course didn't work for two reasons; the first reason is that the bank is not going to return money back to you, the company who is charging you has to call your bank. Second, there is no such thing as an authority number, the correct term is authorization number! I talked and complained to two managers who said they would make sure that the money returns to my credit card which of course again did not happen. I finally had to file a complaint to my bank in order to get the money back! What a headache read more
