The printing service I requested was terrible. The young man in the copy/printing department was completely ignorant of making copies at a percentage of the original. He was unable to comprehend that 10 inches at 200% is 20 inches. He was also unable to make black and white copies instead of color, telling me that the machine had no provision for black and white . . . ? I had 35+ years of experience in engineering and reproduction, and it was apparent to me that he was not the man for the job. Everyone has to start somewhere BUT should have basic math skills for reproduction work. He also had a very minimal knowledge of the equipment he was using. He made me wait for 45 minutes while he produced unacceptable copies at the wrong scale. He waited on other customers when he should have been finishing my job. I left without the service that I needed. Please either train him or replace him. I will not return to Office Depot. read more

Went to have my son's graduation announcements printed here. I also had to create invites. My first set of announcements ended up having a small white line through one of the pictures, which went un-noticed until I opened them up to review. I went in the following day and the gal that was on staff, didn't question a thing! They replaced them ( on better photo paper) at no additional charge! The second set turned out great no lines) & my "invites" did as well. Great customer service!! read more

Frustrated with them. I put an order in online on a Friday morning for them to print-Posters and a banner. I chose them because it said it would be done by the next day after 5 pm. I received a call Saturday morning asking if I could wait 3-5 days and they would send it out to have done. I told them I had a local company who would do for cheaper (-150)...and have it to me by Wednesday. I chose them because it would be done sooner. They said it would be done Sunday. I don't shop Sundays so I went to pick it up on Monday. It was Martin Luther King Day but they were open. They told me it was just sent out and would not be back until later in the week but would offer a discount if I didn't cancel it. Went to pick it up today and no discount. I know to go local from now on. Sorry Big Box store but you have lost another customer. read more

Admittedly, my housemate and I did go to the store 20 minutes before closing. However, we knew what we were going for it was just a matter of figuring out the designated area of the store to go to. Went to Office Depot to furnish our home office. As Camp Fire survivors, we needed a little help on the delivery schedule of $900.00 worth of furniture (with an eye on several hundred dollars more). Neither Stan nor his manager, Rusty, appeared to have any interest in trying to work with us on scheduling delivery 7 to 10 days from the date of sale. Honestly, after coming in twice in an effort to purchase from them, they appeared to be annoyed that a customer was there....and we only counted two other customers on Memorial Weekend! We have happily taken our business elsewhere & have no intention of ever attempting to give them our money in the future! read more

I get all of my office supplies here. The staff are very nice and helpful. They get 3 stars for not having their stuff together, though. I ordered a desk and waited 5 days for it to be delivered. They delivered a cabinet instead of a desk so I refused the shipment. I had to go back to the store to reorder the desk and had to wait another 5 days for it. They then delivered it to my house instead of my office. Luckily my husband is a sweety and managed to get the 100+ awkward box to my upstairs office for me. Then yesterday, another desk showed up at the office that I didn't order. They really need to work on their delivery!!! read more

I am a customer and I would appreciate being treated nicely. I have no problem with the selection, pricing or layout of the store. So here is the story, I purchase a couple cases of paper. Got to the front to check out. The lady askes me if I want help out with the paper. I pause for a moment to decide and the she elevates her voice and again says sternly "I said, DO YOU WANT HELP OUT WITH THE PAPER!" I was taken back, it has been a long time since I was talked to like that, maybe since my parents yelled at me when I wasn't listening. Further on I was paying and she grabbed the pen for the credit card machine out of my hand and was hitting the buttons for me. Are they in this big of a hurry? I'm not old, Im not stupid and I'm not Slow, There really was no reason to talk to me that way. read more

Steep discounts on fairly nice furniture is about the only upside of shopping here. I fell in love with a beautiful desk that had a gorgeous hutch and a great office chair. I explained to the sales associate I happened to be moving the week it would be available for delivery, but was reassured that it would not be delivered prior to our actual move date. So I didn't even think about entering my new address on everything, due to the aforementioned guarantee. Long story made very short, Office Depot did not communicate with the third-party delivery company that brought my furniture, which is why it showed up the day BEFORE I was scheduled to move out, rather than three days later, when I would have already been in my new home. There wasn't any space for my desk, so I had no choice but to instruct the guy to leave it in front of my door and hope none of my less than scrupulous neighbors would fleece it. However, the chair was nowhere to be found. I called Office Depot to figure out what was going on. I spoke to a male employee who said he didn't have the chair on the property but would call me back after things calmed down. I waited for more than an hour, but finally called them at 8:35 because I knew they were closing and I was afraid that the chair would be delivered after we were moved out. I spoke with a female manager--I think her name was Rachel, but admittedly, was too stressed out by my move and the fear of losing my new $300+ desk to focus--and she spent more time being defensive as to how the store wasn't to blame for the desk being dropped off early and in no way responsible for the missing chair. As stressed as I was, I can tell you I wasn't rude. I did express that I felt the employee who sold me the desk had obviously not done a thorough job communicating with the delivery company that the item could not be delivered early. I wasn't told that there was any possibility of the furniture being delivered early, on account of the Labor Day holiday. The manager was absolutely like a dog with a bone--she did not seem willing to move forward with the more relevant part of the conversation (that is, figuring out what happened to my chair at the very least, though an apology for having to leave a piece of furniture outside would have been nice, too) until I ABSOLUTELY UNDERSTOOD SHE WAS NOT TO BLAME. At one point, I said, "I have a piece of furniture sitting on my lawn that I am not prepared to move after I was clear in communicating that I was moving and no one bothered to inform me I would be receiving the furniture early. You don't know where my chair is, and no one has so much as expressed an understanding of how this is just about the last thing I need in the middle of a move. It's really not unreasonable for me to be upset." Rachel plowed on, telling me that there was no way the employee had failed to disclose early delivery dates and telling me that no one could be expected to know where my chair was. Adding insult to injury, she told me she was going to have one of her other managers call me the next day with an update on the chair. No phone call ever came and since it took me 12 hours to move, I didn't have the ability to call them, either. No worries, though. The chair arrived today and rest assured, I won't be going back to Office Depot. What truly lousy customer service. read more

I made a mistake and purchased a new laptop with Windows 11. The computer works ok, the Windows works ok, but not together. Attempted to take the computer back and was told the the manager has a No Return Policy because the computer is slow. It is not that the computer is slow, it is that the hardware in the computer does not always respond a quickly as it should because of the enormous demands by the Windows 11 (that according to the very effective Lenovo tech; the support from Microsoft has been as effective) . I had intended to purchase a faster computer from the store but the abrupt and rude interaction with the store management changed tha immediately. I called the Corporate Customer Chat Line and had 6 conversations and was told that I would get a response and that there was a 14 day return policy. No response from the Corporate Chat line. There are other firms that will sell computers and software....go to them. read more

My husband I frequently go to Office Depot for work supplies. We spend quite a bit of money there. We usually don't have any issues and the employees are usually very nice and helpful. However; we went there last month because I was looking for a specific kind of stylus for my tablet. The gentleman showed us some then walked away. The one I was looking at was $40, I didn't end up buying it. When my husband and I were leaving, the gentleman who helped us came up to us at the door and said, "do you have the stylus?" I looked at him and said, "no, I decided not to buy it because it's a little expensive." He then looked at me and said, "well did you put it back where it was?" I said, "of course I did, are you implying you think I am stealing it?" The gentleman said "no" and ran to the area where the stylus was to check and make sure it was still there. I was so insulted and angry, I have never been accused of stealing something. Just because I go into a store to look at something certainly doesn't mean I'm going to buy it and just because I don't buy it doesn't mean I'm stealing it! I will not be going to the Office Depot in Chico anymore. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Just had a great experience ordering a 36 x 24 foam board poster from Office Depot for a friend's wedding reception table assignments. With less than 24 hours before the wedding, I was a bit nervous about getting a high quality poster in time for a Sunday wedding. I called Office Depot on Saturday evening and spoke with Ally in the Printing/Copying department. She was so helpful in clearly explaining the options and she made sure the poster was completed ASAP after I sent the image in Sunday morning - I picked it up half an hour after the store opened and it looked great! I so appreciate Ally's help getting this done. To top it off, Office Depot opens hours before other office supply stores in the area and was half the price - a win win win. read more

Mike, in the tech department, couldn't have been any more patient and helpful with resolving a problem that I created with my printer - he is a real class act that I would trust with my computer any day! I have shopped at this store several times since moving to Chico a few months ago and am always greeted with a quick "hello, can I help you find something?" and there is always a clerk ready to ring me up. I would encourage anyone in Chico to try Office Depot (and certainly Mike for tech stuff!) before heading to any of the competitors. It must be hard these days for these businesses to stay open with how competitive online shopping is now. Sometimes I dont want to wait for something to arrive even if its just a couple days so its nice to be able to walk in somewhere and buy something. Hopefully this can still be done down the road. I have bought quite a few things from Office Depot over the years. Ive found most things to be sold for a good price. Mostly I have bought office supplies from them, and I have bought some computer accessories. Everyone I have spoken to there seemed very nice. I would say its basically the same customer service you would get at Best Buy. This place has a computer repair department now and theyre price seems to be low but I have not used it and probably wont because I have a guy who repairs my computers that Im happy with. I am just curious though and I am surprised that no one has reviewed the computer repair department here yet. Overall I am very glad this business is around and I hope they can stay in business so we dont have to buy everything online in the future! read more

i enjoyed shopping in such a relaxed enviroment. i was shopping for a new laptop and actually ended up purchasing one before i left. i wasnt pressured by pesky salesmen and i actually was able to look over their inventory and explore without being interrupted while doing so. After reviewing their selection of laptops i finally decided on one which was very well priced and of great quality. The staff was very prompt when i was ready and only mentioned additional software and extras that i may want but did not harrass me or pressure me into buying a bunch of costly crap that i really didnt need.im not sure what everyone looks for in customer service but in my opinion office depot was perfect.plenty of help if you need it but a pleasent and peaceful shopping experience because they dont shadow you around the store unless requested.. :) read more
