On Saturday March 14th, 2026 I took a trip to the Mangrove AT&T store in Chico. I am not a customer of AT&T currently. I came across a modem in a storage Shed and I wanted to return it to AT&T and I've been shopping around for a new carrier for my phone and internet services. I figured since I was going to be there to ask what to do with the modem I could talk to them about switching over to AT&T while I was there. I walked in with the modem in a small box, and before the door even shut, a lady in the back of the store started yelling at me, "WE DON'T TAKE THOSE HERE!" in a very, very rude loud voice. of course I was standing there stunned at the greeting. then she yelled at me again, "WE DON'T TAKE THOSE HERE! YOU HAVE TO SEND IT BACK YOURSELF!" I got a confused look on my face and I said I found it, it isn't mine but she screamed again, "WE DON'T TAKE THAT STUFF HERE" (as if I would know that since I wasn't a customer). I was so shocked at the time that I didn't understand what she was talking about. A polite male employee (that looked as shocked as me) was sitting close to where I was standing and he was kind enough to explain to me (in a normal voice) where to take it. He politely answered my questions and I left the store. As I hobbled (I'm handicapped) to the UPS store I was getting more and more angry at the unprofessional attitude and rudeness of the employee. I think she was the manager. When I got to the UPS store the line was 10 deep and only one person was working at the desk, so I turned around and threw the modem into the trash by the door and I left. I have NEVER in my life had a person yell at me like that before I even opened my mouth. Too bad for AT&T. They could have had a new customer that day, but not now. Not after that kind of behavior. I've posted this on every social media platform in my quest to warn everyone to avoid that store. Unless you like being treated badly and taken advantaged of. There are many negative reviews on that store. Be sure to read them before you even consider walking through their door. read more

I'm well aware that the associates of AT&T and other cellular service providers are commission based. The manager here at this location pushed me into a sale for the iPhone 15. I traded my iPhone 14 in pristine condition September 2023. It is now January 2025 and my phone service and number have been disconnected since November 2024. My bill is more than $1600 to reconnect my service and cellular plan. As a recent college graduate from Chico State in between careers, I cannot afford to pay $1600+ for one bill while having health problems also. I traded my iPhone 14 in exchange for the 15. On the bill statement I received , I believe this store location got my iPhone 14 for free. Once I figure out how to pay off my $1600+ bill I am no longer staying with AT&T. I was quite disappointed with these guys. So I have 2 phone lines. 1 cost 40 bucks a month with 25+ dollar fee for a phone and a second line that is costing me 70 bucks a month just for the line??? How is that possible? And we are on a shared plan... so why the difference? The guy says it's just what it cost..... not a fan. I actually am learning I can drop certain items and maybe even get completely separate lines and save money.... I'm loosing faith in ATT and especially the knowledge or help you get from this stores employees.... I can cancel my plan completely and come back as a new customer and save 100s of dollars and get new free phones that they can't offer to existing customers??? Wth? Done with these guys! read more

My husband and I went in after the other store in town didn't help after we purchased a new phone in transferring data, they told us to go home and put the phones next to each other and go from there. My husband and I aren't very tech savvy, so we needed some help. We thought we would try this store and everyone in there was so helpful! They greeted us right away with smiles and took the time to help transfer everything over and get the new phone up and working. My father in law also goes to this store on Mangrove to pay his bill and any other issues that arise. I have never been treated so poorly in my life. The sales person named Angel, could not understand a simple technological question as evidenced by his stupid question. I can't believe my ears. He didn't understand the question at all. I repeat the question and he repeated his stupid question, again displaying his lack of understanding completely. I raised my voice. (Maybe he's deaf or just stupid?). Sadly, he's just stupid. I'm finally so frustrated, I, in raised voice, said, "What ever happened to the customer is always right?" The manager comes out and did not ask if she could help me, she just through me out of the store and warned me not to go to their other store in Chico. Not a problem! Over to Oroville I drive where I, helped, problem fixed and I'm on my way in five minutes! Steer clear of these idiots! read more

I have to say that I was very disappointed in the quality of the merchandise. I went in to buy a set of screen protectors for my iPhone, and I am very happy with that purchase and the salesman that helped me. While I was in there, I noticed some covers of my iPhone, and decided to buy one. I was a little concerned that the one I chose did not have the original packing, but I thought that this was a reputable store and there should be no problem. When I got home, opened the box, I found that the cover was torn and that the screen protector was not in the box. I returned the item with no problems, but what troubles me is that someone at the store actually had to transfer this unit to this box, and there is no way they could not notice the condition of the item and the missing part. I would not go back. I will stick with the regular AT&T store across town. read more

Very helpful, very friendly, easy in and out for quick things and they are willing to "go the extra mile" when it comes to complicated questions or info that needs some research. Never felt like they were trying to "up sell" me - which is rare when I've been in other AT&T stores in the past. This is my "go to" for anything AT&T. read more

I've been in a few times when I upgraded tablets and needed my plan moved to another device. (Different sim sizes - I couldn't just move the sim.) They were quick, and the staff is exceptionally friendly. The waiting time here is a fraction of what it is at the main AT&T store on 20th. read more

The best customer service ever! Kayla, here at the Chico and Redbuff office, spent hours solving an ongoing problem with billing. She was patient with me and with the ATT customer service on the phone. She worked hard to help with the CampFire data issues. She was training two new employees and truly showed them what it means to care for the customer! read more

Was sent here by att store to buy a phone that att store did not have in stock. I had the sim card to just put in the phone to activate the phone and the plan. This store told me I could not buy the phone without having their plan set up on it. So...I would have to cancel the plan that att just set up then pay for a two months plan with this store then cancel that in two months and re-activate the original att plan. What???? They definitely have their own agenda. So I called Hubert from the att store. He talked to this employee and told him he would come over and buy the phone himself. The employee finally told him that we could buy the phone with cash without having their plan. It seems this store will do anything to make a sale under their name. read more

I've never had a very great experience at this particular store, until today. What we were doing was complicated and time consuming, my husband was at work and it was just me with my two small kids who were really good all things considered but after an hour began to disintegrate. An employee named Andrew started playing with them!! While I was trying to get things wrapped up, he got an iPad and played games with them, and after that lost charm, he let them pick something to watch on Netflix on tv. Total brain saver!! The associates were kind and greeted us when we came in. I'm giving them two stars because after we bought our phones under the buy one get one free, they told us that our monthly payment would lower after two to three months. After three months, it didn't and we went back in only to find out that they messed up the order when we bought it. They called customer service to submit a case and told us that next month, it should be fine but it wasn't. So we called customer service and submitted another case and now, just waiting. Super slow and incompetent customer service. Waited for over an hour to finally get help. No the store wasnt packed, I was waiting for one guy to get his service done and the sales rep clearly displayed he had no idea what he was doing. I only needed to get a phone unlocked! Shoutout for Julin (sp?) who solved a problem that online chat couldn't even understand. Didn't seem like it should have been that hard to understand--I think we're seeing some training issues here.
