This Office Depot is conveniently located on Vets, and shares a pretty large parking lot with several other businesses. I've always been able to find a parking spot. The staff is helpful and seems to have a pretty good handle on inventory, and where to find specific items. It's a large store, so having a knowledgeable staff makes a huge difference. Prices are sometimes a smidgen high, but I'm willing to pay a little more if I can find everything I need in one place. The checkout times here vary. Today the cashier was on top of her game. I zipped through the line and was on my way in no time.

Only black Friday location I encountered with no crowd. That's right... no crowd. Not sure why people in search of laptops and tablets wouldn't think to go there. Five minutes before opening, there were only about 10 customers! The staff members were very knowledgeable of the products and genuinely friendly. They helped each customer locate the items in the store. I mentioned I was going to get one item from Office Max's doorbuster sale. They offered to match Office Max's price.Norton N360 for $19.99!

This Office Depot is the new DMV! Four other employees standing around and only one person doing the work ...very slowly

This Office Depot is literally right down the street from me. It is in a long L-shaped strip mall with a large parking lot. The parking lot is always busy. There always seems to be at least 6 employees working at any given time when I walk in, yet they rarely speak to customers, preferring the company of each other. My last couple of visits have been to get a flat rate USPS box, which is free to pick up by any customer. So, since they provide that service, I like to actually buy something to reimburse them for the time they spent lifting a heavy (sarcasm) empty box. Each and every time, they try to charge me for the box. You don't pay for the box until you go to ship, even at a Post Office. Other than that, the employees are always friendly enough. I do think they are, on average, more expensive on their supplies, but oh well. This store is always clean, as are their restrooms.

No one working in the aisles, almost completely out of index cards. Stuff all over the floors. I guess the manager is on vacation. Once I found an employee, he was very helpful in finding where the index cards were supposed to be. However, they were out. I was able to get some right next door at big lots.

    Not so good Office Depot.

It's a small local operation, but they are really timely and knowledgeable with both PCs and Macs. We haven't brought them a problem they couldn't tackle. They let off a sort of detective vibe: they're interested in the issues and work every angle until the case is closed. Definitely worth your business.

"Dane" was the employee. I called looking for a basic, Windows system to use purely as a localized stress-test machine. Instead of listening, the guy was immediately patronizing, telling me things were 'too expensive or wouldn't be good enough' for me without a clue what I was using it for. He went from. We don't have anything that expensive too. We don't have anything that cheap. Then he just finally said "..no but uh I'd have to get up"..verbatim. When I tried giving him exact technical criteria to see what they had in stock (targeting Windows Pro, DDR5 or a baseline Ryzen configuration), he completely checked out, spoke over me, and rushed me off the phone with an abrupt 'I gotta go, I gotta go.' New Orleans is too small of a market to treat clients with this level of dismissiveness. If you want a tech shop that communicates like professional adult, take your business elsewhere.

Before I get to the main body of my review, I want to mention their old location. Located on Camp Street in a very old building, the amount of history in that place was truly amazing. In their case were old police badges, old signs, etc. that they had made throughout the years. I was really sad to see them move from the old spot, but the new place is much more customer friendly. Now in Mid-City, there is ample street and lot parking. Inside the store is clean, modern and efficient. There are many items on display that show the range of things they can create. Everything from vinyl signs to super high end markers for mausoleums. The favorite piece of mine is the old wheelbarrow branded with the Ed Smith logo prominently displayed in the lobby. But looking at cool things is not why I come. I have had many different items made by Ed Smith over the years including name tags, desk name plates, office door plates and most recently self-inking stamps. The quality of their stamps is first rate. They even handled a difficult custom job for me that I picked up today. While not cheap, I have never seen a self- inking stamp so large or so clear. The staff are very helpful and even willing to deal with difficult customers who have unrealistic expectations (Me). I am sure you can go to some national company for these kinds of things, but trust me, Ed Smith is the best at what they do, and they are local.
