COVID-19 review: This is my local Office Depot and I must say I'm grateful it's in my neighborhood! I appreciate the fact that they have signs informing everyone they have to wear a mask and social distance. They also make shopping convenient by having all the COVID-19 supplies as soon as you walk in, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, masks etc. Every time I come in they are friendly and greet me and help me find just what I'm looking for! I signed up for their free frequent customer thingy and they look me up by my phone number. It's great bc I get coupons, yes I know I'm an old lady using coupons but it's a pandemic, Gotta be smart with my money! Haha :) Even when you check out they have tape on the floor to show you how far away to stand, they have plexiglass between you and the cashier and all the employees wear masks! They also have convenient short term parking in front of the store! Happy office supply shopping! read more

Two Black women ignored me in the printing line. When a white woman got in line the one closets to us said "We'll be with you a moment" She went ahead of me since I had to tape an item at the desk. I got back in line and was ignored again . I let her know what I needed was quick and could she stop with h the big printer. She told me no. The online orders were more important, until........ a white man got in line. She again said ,"We'll be with you in a moment" She stopped doing online orders for him. I went in for a shredder & to use my $10 off coupon... only one of these things happened!!!! You guessed it... THE SHREDDER!!!!! Drew & the cashier were very helpful by assisting me with my purchase & applying discounts for me. I got the shredder & an add on, way to go Drew... but I needed it & the lubrication sheets. I am pleased with the shredder & the lubrication sheets though. As of late, this location is my store of choice, in this season, as I am more often than not in the mid city area. So when I'm in need of office supplies, earbuds, pens, shredders and the like, I find myself here. Wide selection of school, office & business things; they also have home supplies as well. They even sell water here & I find it to be fair in pricing. Recycling up to 10 ink cartridges a month will add up to reward certificates... soon winning. This Office Depot is just OK as far as I'm concerned. It feels cramped and unorganized, and I have a hard time finding what I need. They have lots of inventory and I usually manage to leave with what I came for, but the hunt isn't any fun. Customer service is the biggest issue I've had here, and I'm not basing the problems on a single visit. I've been to this location several times, and I can't remember a single time when I left without feeling like I was a bother to the staff. On one occasion I was picking up a custom printing order and stood at the counter for about 10 minutes while the employee in that department talked on her phone and did her best to pretend I wasn't there. It was definitely a personal conversation. Very similar experience on my next visit, and on my last visit I waited in line to check out for way too long. Eventually an employee came to the front of the store to open a second register. The line was so long. If you're in the Mid City area this location is very convenient. I'm sure I'll go back, and I'm hoping things change for the better by the time I return. read more

I thank God that New Orleans proper is bringing in chains for non-local wares like office supplies so I don't have to trek out to Metry every other day. This is super convenient right by my house. They have 4 or so spots right out front that are 20 minutes max and about 90% of the time, this is honored. I always park here, cause I'm a speed demon when it comes to office supplies. List in hand, I bust through the door...I think they're automatic though. Buying supplies online always seems cheaper, but I don't really have a ton of options nearby so I bite the bullet on some of the supplies I need for convenience purposes. I've been greeted and offered assistance every time I've gone thus far except this last time I was greeted but then no one was at the cash register to take over (granted I'm fairly positive it was during a shift change). There is one girl employee there that is SO attentive that while she's checking you out, she's talking into her ear piece letting some Office Depot ninja know that customer so-and-so that just walked in is looking helpless and keeps muttering about paper clips. They should clone her. I haven't been let down on what I've needed yet, the service that one day was just odd since there were at least a dozen employees walking around and no one was at the cash register to help me. I'll be back if I forget to order offline, and need something ASAP...but that never happens... (That always happens). read more

Finally we have a place to get office supplies in Mid-City!! (The more I can add to the local tax base, the happier I am.) This Office Depot is the first business to open in the highly anticipated North Carrolton shopping center at Bienville St. I stopped in to check it out and I am happy to report that this is a full service Office Depot, complete with a printing service counter for making copies and such, they also have all the things you would expect to find in an Office Depot, like printers and inks, paper goods, fancy pens, office furniture, back-to-school supplies, etc. This location also has shipping facilities, too! They are listed to be open until 9 PM most nights and 7 PM on Sundays. read more

This is a branch of the nationwide business supply chain located in the Mid-City neighborhood on the Downtown side of Canal Street. Product: Office supplies, as the name implies. I have utilized it for items such as printer cartridges, but my most recent visit, I purchased supplies necessary to put together a portfolio for work. I am not a real good judge on prices in such establishments, but I didn't think what I bought was unreasonable. It can be a little disorienting on your first visit to find all the items you may want, but the most common office supplies are readily available. 3 stars Service: Cashiers and floor workers. I found them congenial and somewhat helpful when looking for things in the store. 3 stars Facilities: The store is located in a strip mall next to Panera Bread and the (now defunct) Pei Wei. There is a private lot shared parking lot and a few spots directly on North Carrollton. The building is a clean looking brick and mortar. I found the building inside to be a bit darker than most retail stores, for whatever reason. Signs inside for the aisles are not as visible or descriptive as I would prefer. 3 stars Overall: I prefer purchasing most products in person. I know that may mean I pay a little bit more versus buying online, but I can be certain I have exactly what I want if it is in stock. There aren't many office supply stores in New Orleans proper, so unless you actually like driving to Jefferson Parish (Metairie or the West Bank), this is about as good as it gets. 3 stars read more

I came here to print and mail documents. It's really cool that you can send things from here. I came in about 30 minutes before the closed. I printed my documents, and signed them to have them mailed using the priority shipping they offer. Maybe 12 minutes before they closed, the employee let me fill out the shipping information on their computer. She walked off to help other customers. It took a minute or two to fill out the shipping info. I waited for the employee to come back for about 8 or 9 minutes. When she did come back she told me that they couldn't process my transaction or my request to send the documents because they were closed. I'm not sure if it was her not wanted to help any more customers or if it was their system; but either way, I stood there for 10 minutes waiting for her to help me finish my transaction. She didn't come back to help me until after they closed, and only to tell me that she couldn't help me. Terrible, right? read more

Copy center is always busy and they don't have enough help. They could also use some kind of line control as the workers aren't paying attention and there's confusion about who's next. After waiting awhile and having someone jump in front of me and hearing one of the two copy workers ask for her lunch break and not once being acknowledged I finally just left. For a busy individual having an Office Depot in that area is a dream come true. Ideally it would be perfect. I use the business center at least twice a month. HOWEVER, the service is slow. The business center is always understaffed. Last time I was there the clerk spent just as much time responding to text messages about plans for after work as he did helping me. I know that, because his phone was on the counter in front of me and he would lean over and use one finger to type one letter at a time responses. I asked if he could put his phone away because I was in a hurry and his response was that we had to wait for the label to print anyway so he wasn't slowing me down. Lovely. I almost want to quit my job and apply to be a manager at Home Depot just to get the place in order. It's an ideal location. It just needs some direction and organization. read more

I tried. Gave it another chance. This place is where your paper-seeking soul comes to wither. I get better customer service from my computer screen. The manager openly berates his employees in front of customers. There is always a line and a string of problems at the register. Today, I watched the manager throw a cardboard box across the store when a customer had a complaint at the front. You can barely get someone to make eye contact with you, let alone greet you and assist you in locating something. I left today without cardstock, because I walked up and down the store looking for someone who could point it out, nada. To try to find an employee, I headed over to the computers. There are constant problems with the models-- IPads, laptops, etc. None of them function correctly and if you try to use them alarms sound...which...you think would make someone pay attention, but nothing. The two girls that were working in that area were too engrossed in their own conversations to care. Bring back the Dunder Mifflins of the world. read more

I came to Office Depot to use the shipping services counter so I could mail off a package. The first associate to help me directed me to the shipping label creator which I finished making quickly. I then proceeded to wait another 12 minutes to get another associate (there were three more behind the counter) to provide me with any guidance. While there were other customers there, many of them were filling things out and occupied at times that the associates could have multi tasked and assisted other customers. Having worked retail you need to have that skill to be successful. The associate seemed okay with shipping my $300 electronic with little package stuffing but I made sure it was wrapped in bubble wrap before he taped it shut. I guess most of the business they do is at the printing and shipping counter which is interesting because that was the busiest area. I also found it interesting that the most helpful associates were the younger ones and the older associates seemed to just run through the motions. The saving grace was the kind cashier who quickly chatted with me as I walked out. Even though she made small talk it was the most personable experience I had in that store and those interactions are what make you return and how businesses build relationships. I'm going to avoid going to this branch around 11 am any day of the week. They made me feel like I was being a problem but in retrospect, they were probably feeling overwhelmed/overworked and cranky. They really had poor work performance. I went in to get folders and a couple of copies of my resume. Two of four employees were very condescending about me requesting a particular type of resume paper, which should've been a non-issue. I liked the resume paper offered at the print station. The person working there sent me to the isle to buy a pack. But, the item was NOT there. (One guy told me "it's just paper", and indicated that I should just pick something. (He obviously hadn't looked in my buggy though. I had already selected a back up option BEFORE I made it to the print station.. .) Anyway, I'd feel like a clown presenting a resume on blue or almond colored resume paper. It's a matter of personal style, I guess. I just wanted the product that I like.) Another guy was intentionally nonchalant, and one was too busy to remember details long enough to be helpful. It was a very uncomfortable trip (and took up a lot of time). I wound up buying prints that I didn't want because the store was OUT of a few types of paper. I wound up buying two prints of each document. The third copy had mix-matched paper. The location is about the only thing going for them, but everything else is pretty bad. Customer service is non existent and to check out takes forever. Ok selection, but a lot of stuff has either been opened or stolen. I was looking for an iPad case and I saw two empty boxes hanging with no case. I wish I could recall the blond's name that works in the print area - she is fantastic. There have been some printing mishaps but they always take responsibility and fix them at no cost (and as fast as they can). My wife needed a desk chair, and after checking out Costco (which is my favorite place to buy everything, but their selection was limited) and a few smaller stores, we came in here. They had quite a few which were on sale, but she chose one which wasn't, and was $100. I looked at their website from my phone and found what I thought was the exact same chair for $40 less (identical name and appearance), and asked an associate if they price match, which she said they did. I brought it to the register and showed the cashier that the chair is $60, but he checked and said they were different SKUs, which they were. Anyway, he got the manager over and decided to price match it anyway since it was clearly the same product with a different number. Great customer service! read more

Again today I subjected myself to this location. The only reason I go here on very RARE occasions is because it is convenient...EVERYTIME I am shocked at the LACK of customer service of the printing department. First, they need to remove the sign that says things can be done by 2pm same day. That is not the truth nor has it EVER BEEN. I have sent simple print jobs to them (40 copies on special paper) of PDFs that I have created and they tell me it will take over 12 hours to complete. I have also gone in requesting to get something bound, that is a 2 day job. I have sat in line for 30 minutes while 3 people behind the counter help one customer. Management sits behind the counter and does NOTHING! The management should take this review as a training opportunity! read more

Ok, I was not happy with OD last time I had to go there. I have an old printer that I was trying to get working again. I got it working, but needed ink. Easy enough, Office Depot is 5 blocks away. I went over there and got ink - the Office Depot brand, because it was less than half the price of HP brand. Turns out that was a big mistake. When I got home, the plastic wrapping was all opened and it looked like someone swapped the cartridges for empty ones. But I still tried it. I had a hard time fitting them in the carriage, but eventually got them in there. And of course, they were empty. Ok, not a huge deal, I can take them out and return them. Well, it was damn near impossible to get them out, and it took me 15 minutes of carefully prodding and prying, per cartridge! Finally I got them out and brought them back. But this OD didn't have any more in stock, so now I either have to buy expensive ones, wait for OD to get them, or just order online. I decided to order online and wait a week to get cheap ones because I'm still not 100% sure the printer will work. Finally get the new cartridges, put them in (easily, I might add), and turn the printer on. And of course the printer doesn't work. Huge waste of time. Obviously, Office Depot isn't completely to blame, but I think it was their faulty cartridges that pretty much ruined my printer. read more

Not only are all my printing jobs taken care of quickly and efficiently, but this rockstar of an employee Lauren makes sure I get the prints just right.
