Literally switched to Verizon because of how bad their customer service was. Just awful.

The thing we wanted was to convert a prepaid phone number to a postpaid. We had gone to the AT&T on Clearview and were told they couldn't do it. Called customer support and was told the only way to convert to postpaid was in store. So this time we called ahead to the Veterans store. They said it's possible. When we first got here, the place was very busy and we had to wait a while. That's not too big of a problem. They were nice about walk ins. When our turn came, we explained our situation and at first the person said they couldn't do it or didn't know how. At that point we literally were tempted to leave our carrier AT&T for good cuz of the discrepancy between what we were told in store versus customer support. But someone went back and asked and Ms. Carla Stamps came out and said she could help us. All of the issues were handled by her with no problem. She was generous and helpful and we are very thankful for the help. Someone should give her a raise because AT&T almost lost a customer if not for Carla. read more

I had the pleasure of speaking to AT&T Representatives Technician Trey, "last name unknown and Technician Brian," last name unknown on a service call regarding my internet. When Tech Brian followed by Tech Trey..same day 2 hours apart entered my home, they were respectful, humble, and unfailingly polite. They were well-spoken and good-natured. Their interest in my matters was unexpected and meaningful. I was offered a fantastic budget-friendly upgrade plan explained in detail, I declined, but I will revisit the offer on a later date. In every way, I had a positive experience. I can genuinely say that Technician Trey and Technician Brian was committed to assuring its customers a true representation of AT&T support. There's no other ATT store I will go to other than 2937 Vets. The young lady that manages this location is hands down one of the best, she has been a great help to me when she was just a Tech. I have been known this young Lady for more than 5 years and she has always been on of her profession. Kenyatta staff is a testament to her ability and her professionalism. There's some sketchy stuff going on at this store...it all started last year.. when I went in to purchase a new phone and watch for myself and a watch for my husband. My husband had to upgrade his phone because it wasn't compatible with the new watch- they sold us a phone that AT&T corporate told us they should have Given to us as a free upgrade. They also had it delivered for "free" to our home... whoever delivered it did some swapping out of phones-the new phone came with all kinds of Atlanta drug dealers phone numbers already programmed into it. Well, when we went back to talk to the same guy who sold us the phone, it showed up in the system as a used and already "returned" phone. We went back because AT&T corporate instructed us to do so- because once again, the phone was supposed to be free. There's so much going on here- I can't put down all the little details! My phone was purchased as "new" as well- and I "thought" it was until now... my phone came up with an error message stating my camera was not an "Apple" device. I made an appointment with Apple and found out my phone probably was a refurbished phone even though I purchased it as new. So- I marched myself over to the AT&T store to have a discussion with them . The first thing they want to do is accuse me of having my phone serviced elsewhere. Umm no! Why would I do that when I pay for insurance through AT&T ? So the guy I met with gave me the card of the authorized service center- I asked b4 I leave can I ask about my bill? My father in law passed away so I had his phone removed from the bill- instead of my bill going down by $30 it only went down by $5. His response was "well you can't just remove a phone and expect your bill to go down like that" I asked well why did AT&T add $5 to each device on my account? He didn't even look at my account, nor did he offer his condolences, he said that's just the way it is. I told him I wanted to talk to a manager! He said "I am the manager" I said so "I want the name of the district manager" he told me THAT was not going to happen and to leave! Umm ... no... THAT was not going to happen either!! I am so blown away by how uncomplicated and short my stop at this store was. My partners phone was stolen so I needed to get a new SIM card. I walked in at 9AM and there was no wait. I was immediately seated with an associate. That has never once happened to me at any other AT&T location. I explained the issue, a new SIM card was programmed, and I was on my way all in under 10 minutes. And at no cost! How incredible is that?! The sales associate Rocquell even had to trouble shoot when the system tried to not let her sell me the First Net SIM, and she figured out the problem almost immediately and resolved it. The store is huge and so nice. Socially distanced stations with plexiglass dividers. I will always come back to this store! read more

A two and one half year old child will change your perspective on a lot of things, even your cell phone. In an effort to pacify my son's over the top curiosity with electronic devices, my wife often lets him "surf / play" with her I-Phone 4S. Even though the phone had (notice I said had) a decent case, the repeated drops and normal wear and tear took its toll. What started out as glitchy service and the occasional inability to find a network, ended up being a chronic issue. Having had a good experience at this particular AT&T store, we opted to go back. As is usually the case, the store was fairly crowded. But we were greeted immediately, and in less than 5 minutes, were being helped by sales consultant Mike Kuebler. In an effort to save us some money, Mike switched out the sim card with a new one, but the phone was still not working. It ended up being the sim card reader inside the phone. Since I did not have insurance, still had 6 months on my contract and was not eligible for an upgrade, I knew my options were limited. Mike Kuebler quickly reviewed our data usage and came up with a family plan that better suited our needs. Since money was tight this month, I took advantage of spreading the cost of my phone into my monthly bill and remaining eligible for an upgrade in 18 months. I also opted for insurance and a screen protector on both of our phones, as a toddler can inflict major damage on a phone in just a matter of seconds. I wasn't thrilled about losing my unlimited data plan on my phone, but since we only use 3 Gb of data a month, it really wasn't an issue. On the plus side, I got a free LG G-pad 7.0 LTE with my phone purchase. It cost me a few bucks a month for my service, but with the recent "death" of our I-Pad (yes, it did have a huge protective case) it is a cool device to have around the house. All in all, I was very pleased with the service I received, and would recommend Mike Kuebler and this particular AT&T store to anyone. read more

I must say that Carla is absolutely stunning and super sweet. I have never met someone so knowledgeable and thorough when doing their job. She had me and my husband laughing our butts off. I completely respect her honesty and her hustle. Ms. Carla was multi-tasking, bouncing from us to other customers in the store and helping them. Making sure to check on us in the process and she told us up front what we can expect on our next bill. We initially came there to save money and taking stuff off the bill, but we ended up adding more devices to our plan for the same price we were paying before and I'm actually not mad about that. We were able to get new devices that were insured and add additional phones for our children. The store is super neat too. Carla is very business savvy and I appreciated her kindness. We have had some terrible customer service from previous providers and even from other AT&T stores (ESPECIALLY NEW ORLEANS areas) I see why so many people recommend the store by Trader Joe's. Went in today to get some help activating a replacement phone and the guy who greeted us basically said we were stupid and could have done it at home, told us what we needed to do and walked away leaving us to figure it out by ourselves, finally another employee came over and helped us cause she saw I was getting frustrated. Also the WiFi in the store is extremely slow which made the activation process take almost 2hours Avoid this place if at all possible!!!! read more

Before I started going to this location, my mom said specifically that Ben is a super nice guy & puts in the effort to help. It was a pleasant surprise to fine this AT&T store on Christmas Eve. I was in the market for a new phone because mine was just about dead. I hesitated because I had a horrible experience at a different location with the same company a couple weeks before. It was early in the day so I went in. What a world of difference! I was greeted and helped within minutes of my arrival. The gentleman who helped me was informative and easy to work with. I was out of the store with my new phone in under an hour. They even have a nice selection of accessories to choose from for your new device. They have cases and screen protectors, headphones and more all at reasonable prices. I've been to many AT&T locations, but this location far exceeds any other when it comes to customer service. The location itself is large so you don't feel crowded when talking about your account. Privacy is key. Also, its conveniently located in the heart of Metairie in the same strip mall as Trader Joe's. Check it out if you're in the market for a new device. read more

We recently switched from Sprint to AT&T so we could get 3G iphones and I'll have to say it hasn't been the smoothest transition. Our bills have been screwed up, our text messaging has been turned off and we got a lemon of an apple...iphone that is. Sounds like a 2 star review doesn't it? The reason it's getting a 4 stars is because Kerry our AT&T salesman has always been there to help get things fixed up. It's nice to know there is someone who you can call, text or email and know things will get straightened out. He told us the night we got the phones he wasn't afraid of problems and he has lived up to that. I will also tell you that the new Apple Store in Lakeside did step up and replace the lemon of an iphone and the replacement one has worked much better than the first one...thankfully 'cus I was never going to hear the end of that one if they didn't! read more

Simply put, completely uninterested and totally rude staff. But I WAS told when I walked in that they liked my purse. The two women who "greeted" me barely heard what the problems were with the phone before totally dismissing me and telling where I could go. As I tried to speak, I was given a piece of paper with a long list of names and numbers and one told me she was finished with me! I gave the paper back to her, turned to walk out the door, and heard a sing-song "have a nice day" directed to me. Strongly suggest another provider. These people are worthless. read more

#AllAboutPrecious I've been to a few diff't AT&T stores in the area & this is (by far) the best one. It's NOT the closest to where I live. I actually pass up 4 other 1's to go here. The store is very clean, the employees & mngmt. seem to genuinely want to help get your questions answered correctly AND for you to leave happy. I never feel rushed when I go here. My young son, sometimes acts like a 4 yr-old boy, instead of a perfect lil angel. They don't lose their minds, but understand on some days (despite my best efforts) he gets a bit rowdy. Today was an opportunity for 1 particular employee to shine brighter than anyone else. Against my better judgment, I went to the store closest to my mother bc of an issue w/her acct (as well as my aunt's acct). They were friendly & courteous, but not as knowledgeable as required to resolve this situation. I decided to call the MVP location, where I'm used to getting VIP treatment every time [bc couldn't make it there]. I spoke with Ms. Precious for 20 minutes; she not only answered every question I had, but also explained the reasoning behind those issues + the best way to fix them all. Precious is not only an asset to this store (on the edge of Metairie near Trader Joe's), but also to AT&T AND even more so... our society at-large. This by far was the worst customer service experience. They were rude, combative, belligerent, racist, and down right nasty human beings, let alone sales reps. I've switched to sprint, but rest assure will file multiple reports and also notify the better business bureau. To have individuals such as Denise and Jen (Believe that is their names) work for your organization in any capacity is a sure way to run your business in the ground and probably end up in lawsuit. read more

I generally avoid going to the AT&T store at all costs, but my husband was having a lot of problems with his phone. Fortunately, he was eligible for an upgrade so we went in to compare the available phones and figure out which one would be best for him. The store was a bit crowded but we were able to look at the phones, make a decision, and get in the line fairly quickly. The woman that helped us was very friendly which was nice... Until she started flirting with my husband. I think it was mostly friendly, flirty type stuff but she kept it up the whole time they were talking even with me standing right there and while he was playing with his wedding ring. The coworker standing next to her actually looked at me at one point and made a face! Overall, the experience was fine. We didn't have any trouble getting the upgrade, he was able to get the phone he wanted, the transaction was quick, but the flirty thing was a little weird so they lose a star. Being friendly is one thing, this was overboard. Ladies, go with your husbands just in case this super-friendly woman is working the counter! ;) Edit: I probably should note that I'm not entirely sure that she was doing this on purpose but it was still awkward. Staff was not helpful. Instead of them doing their job like they were suppose to, I was doing it myself over the phone with customer care in their store. I went to this exact At&t retailer to get my exchange. They gave me the run around claiming they need a physical receipt. They were slow and was not doing anything to help or find out a solution. I purchased the device in IL. Flying back to my home in NOLA I didn't bring my receipt. It is clear that the Note 7 is on my account and is in my hand! I've called costumer service and was told that the store should exchange it. The At&t retailer failed to exchange my defective device. WHAT IS THE POINT OF A RECALL?? At&t has truly made me an unsatisfied costumer with their horrible customer service. Honestly, I advise not going here and if your contract is coming to an end switch carriers! read more

Went in to do a transfer of bill responsibility, but my network did not get transferred correctly. The customer rep that was helping me could not figure out why. Her name was Celena. So she calls another employee to help - he was a bit nicer and tried to help. While he was helping me, I looked over and Celena was in her phone looking at videos hairs because she has nothing better to do. Well both of the reps could not figure out why my phone was not working. They switched my sim car twice and that did not help, so they try to push me out and tell me to go to the Apple store. It def was not a device issue. It was a network issue. Well we tried to explain to her that it's not my phone, and they both told us that cannot do anything further to help. And this Celena girl kept rolling her eyes at my husband when he tried to explain that it was not the device but the network that we had issues with. We spent the last 30 mins on call with customer service of AT&T. The tech support restarted our network guess what?! My phone network works now. Great job at NOT doing your job AT&T ! read more

Once again in my attempt to enter into the present century my phone was upgraded on the advice of my wife. And in addition to the new phone we purchased a contraption called a Hot Spot. Captain Kirk and Bones would be happy with us today on planet Earth. Now wherever we travel or dine or goof off we will have Internet connection for our phone, IPAD, and things like that. The modern world is something else. Can do so much but still can't be beamed anyplace. I am sure that is coming soon. In any case new phones were turned on and we were assisted by a very professional and nice young lady named Danielle. So far have I traveled since a one television station town and black and white TVs along with rotary party line phones. read more

Between this store and the one on Tchoupitoulas street I received the worst customer care that I have ever received in my life. They sent me to the Lakeside store which was a joke. The salesperson at the Lakeside store (I wish I had his name) smelled like onions which was a complete turn off. He was rude and impatient and could clearly tell I was frustrated. I left before I would say something i would regret. He does not need to be in the customer service industry. If I were the store manager I would wonder why a long time AT&T customer left the store in such a hurry and was obviously not happy with the service. They could care less about customers as it's obvious they only want to get them in and out as fast as possible - happy or not. read more

This is the most terrible AT&T store in the world. Stay far away from tricky Ricky and Akeem, they both lie and when it's all done your bill will be higher than when you went in and you will have nothing of what they promised. Make every effort to go elsewhere. read more

This may be the first negative review I've ever written.... I went into this store to add tv and internet services to my wireless bill. While I was told everything I wanted would be able to be done for a certain price, now I'm getting 2 separate bills and it's $50 more than what was agreed upon. I'm now jumping through hoops to get my bill bundled and fixed because "it wasn't set up properly" and I should have done x,y,z to make that possible. However, when I was in the store, there no issues and I got the "Yes, ma'am. We can do that for you with no problems..." treatment. Now I'm taking productivity time out of my work day to call around and get things fixed with no idea if I'll actually get my account credit for the extra money I was drafted that I *did not agree* to pay. Any of these stores I've been to treat customers like fish in a shark pond and then aren't the responsible party when the customer isn't satisfied. read more

Last night, I stopped by the AT&T store to get my elderly father a new phone chager. The employee helping me said I would only be able to get an old charger like it from e-bay. Then, the employee looked up my father's account and noticed he was due for an upgrade. So, I stepped outside to call my father and let him know what was going on. He agreed it was time for an upgrade. Within a couple of minutes, an employee locked the door on me, before their closing time. I knocked on the door and one employee cracked the door and told me their computers shut off at 8pm (yeah, right). I look at my phone and it was 7:55pm and there were at least two other customers in the store. A second employee, came to the door and said he could not help me anyways because I was not authorized on the account. Clearly my father (whom in the hospital) was going to do business over the phone and upgrade as well as, sign for another two years with AT&T wireless. I have NEVER received such poor customer service before...not even in a fast food restaurant. The pho-hawk employee and the other moron should be fired. Thanks for making my day complete. read more
