The workers at the store are very unhelpful, no one could answer my questions, they told me they're multiple days behind on where they're supposed to be when I asked for one piece of paper printed. There was no one in the store. The people working behind the desk were no rush to be getting anyone's orders ready if they're that far behind. I offered to do it by myself, and they proceeded to tell me after I had paid for the self printing that what I was requesting, could not be done on the printers that I was paying for. read more

I looked at an office desk that was on sale, came back the next day to purchase and the sale price was gone. The manager said he would not honor the price. I called another store and was told they would honor the price, but I had to prove the sale price (REALLY).I then looked the model up on amazon and purchased it for the sale price (from Office Depot) WTH. 10/10 times, Office Depot has had what I need, where San Marcos's many textbook stores have let me down. It's not the selection but the service and graveyard-after-midnight atmosphere that earns this one only 3 stars. The store is about as busy as a ghost town, and I feel like I'm the only one in the building every visit. Maybe because of this, the employees seem zombified. They have never acknowledged my presence or asked if I needed help, except to ring up my items, as if in a trance. Theres also almost ALWAYS a really long line for the printing counter. The workers here are nice but, always a bit incompetent. I feel like my printing requests are simple and to the point...makes me dread going there when I need something professional printed. read more

Finally a store with excellent customer service! I can honestly say 95 percent of the employees go over and above any other local brick and mortar store. I used to work in the retail field in high school. Customer service was always emphasized. It seems most brick and mortar stores no longer care about the customer. This Office Depot needs to hold seminars for other retailers in regard to customer service training. I prefer to shop online and not deal with flippant employees who are only interested in the pay check. The retail industry has been steadily going down the toilet with customer service. Thankfully, I have found a great little store. I wish I could give you names but, I am usually in a hurry when I have to run to get supplies. I would say over the last 5 years I have had maybe two incidents where the sales clerk seemed off in a distant land and not really helpful but, overall my experiences have been great. People usually only write reviews to complain or not at all. I rarely take the time to write reviews because I am busy. I just felt the need to recognize these employees for providing outstanding customer service over the years. I love the new rewards program! I am sure people think I am trying to get them to join a cult when I brag about it and encourage them to join! read more

Normally I wouldn't think to review an Office Depot, but this location really stands out. I just moved to the area for school and made roughly 6 trips to this location over the period of 4 days to get various study supplies, furniture, etc. Each time I visited the customer service was phenomenal, the stand out example being two young gentlemen helping me muscle a 300 lb desk into my sedan. We all thought it wasn't going to fit, but they gave me a shot and somehow we got it in there! read more

Went to the print center for passport pictures, what a joke. None of the pictures were the right size, between four of them they couldnt understand why, couldnt figure out how to take the right size picture - had to go next door to walgreens and get it done, and still waiting for the refund. The place is absolutely ridiculous, there's a ratio of four employees to one customer, yet the customer service is horibble. Avoid like the plague! read more

It's really a shame this is the only supply store in San Marcos that is a big name dealer. The service on the phone is in need of an extreme tune up. I called looking for static cling paper advertised on their site so I wouldn't have to drive all the way down there only to leave empty handed. The woman who answered the phone was very polite and willing to help. So I was on hold for about a minute, no big deal. Then this guy answers the phone with, "What do you want?" Excuse me? If I said that to a customer at my job my boss would be mortified and probably write me up. On top of that we had some posters mounted on foam core to hang on our walls, since they were simple cheap video game posters not worthy of frames, and they fell off of the foam core hours after we picked them up. Awesome quality job there for the 15$ a piece we paid for them. I hate having to drive out to New Braunfels to go other places, but going here makes cringe. read more

Bought new Norton product for home PC just as the previous 20 yrs or so... But this year the brand new Product Key out of the brand new box when typed in was rejected by Norton as have already been used??? Weird. Took software "Key" and box and receipt back to store... Talked to "Terry" who offered several ideas as to how this could happen then handed me another brand new product box. "Terry" I must remember that name. I shattered my iPhone 5s screen and took it in to get the screen replaced. The price was awesome and now my phone looks brand new! They fixed it fast too. My Touch ID which wasn't supposed to work after the fix amazingly still works flawlessly. I don't plan on breaking my phone again, but if I do, I know exactly where to take it.
