Will never return even if I was paid to! Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Ever. I walked in with a return and stood in line for 5 minutes, there were two employees behind the counter not doing a thing. I knew they saw me and did not move. The store was completely empty. There was one customer being helped off to the side. The assistant manager came over and with the most annoyed tone said "can I help you?" So I told him that I had a return and he paused for about 10 seconds, as if deciding to do his job or not, than said "uhm yeah sure go over there" pointing to the counters. So I walked to the counter and put my printer on the counter and handed him the extended warranty paperwork I had purchased. He stared at the paper like it was an alien and than said "uhh what are you wanting me to do? It's passed the return date" The man I had bought the printer from and the extended warranty explained to me that with the warranty I could return passed the 14 day policy no matter what and that the warranty covered accidental problems with the printer like if I were to spill coffee on it. Which happened to my last. He had a smirk on his face the entire time I was talking to him. he said "yeah, well thats not what you got. You just got a warranty." So I asked him specifically what was covered with the warranty and he just kept telling me it was a warranty and did not cover anything that was accidental, just if the printer itself broke. So the EXACT same thing the printer itself came with from HP! Instead of giving me the return for a product that had only been taken out of the box and than put back in the box he wouldn't do anything but give me in store credit. I happen to know it would take 1 button to put the return through and I paid with cash so even easier! I work in sales with an absolute no refund policy and yet, we can still give returns with that button! I would have understood a no return if the printer had been used in any way, but it was not. It has been in the box for 1 month. super crappy parking Office Depot is the biggest joke of a store! I cannot believe they are able to sell such bull ****! This office depot is awesome! The manager saved my life! I bought a brand new hp printter on clearance, and it happen ed to be defective out of the box. I didn't have the packaging and brought it to exchange well out of date. They didn't have one in stock, being clearance, so they sent me to the University District, who refused to do it. I finally decided I would just buy a new one and mentioned the story to the manager while looking at a new nicer model. He was insistent that I should be able to have a working printer right away instead of having to go through hp directly, so he let me exchange the defunct one for the nicer one I really wanted! read more

Most experiences with the store have been fine, but I've been trying to buy a filing cabinet from them for almost two weeks now and the experience with their customer service line has been terrible: Thursday 7/21: Walk into store, choose cabinet to be delivered. Store worker and printout say delivery will be on July 22. Friday 7/22: no filing cabinet. Saturday 7/23: We call customer service number, they tell us the resolution center will call us back. They don't say when, so I phone back several hours later and am told that 1) there's no Saturday delivery, 2) the resolution center is closed on weekends. I decide to cancel order and find cabinet from another store. Customer service lady gives me cancellation authorization number but adds that resolution center has to handle it and they're not open on weekends. Monday 7/25: Get voice mail saying filing cabinet out for delivery but most of message is unintelligible. Call back later and are told delivery takes 3-5 business days (um, you should change "delivery date" to "shipping date" on your customer receipt then), and once it's out for delivery we can't cancel order BUT we can refuse delivery if we happen to be around when the cabinet arrives. Tuesday 7/26-Friday 7/29: No filing cabinet. Monday 8/1: I phone back and they say the carrier never received the order. So they cancel the order, place the order again and say it will be delivered the next day. I say, do you mean shipped the next day or actually really delivered? They say delivered. I don't ask why we got a message saying the first order was out for delivery if the carrier never received it. Tuesday 8/2: no filing cabinet. read more

I am a VIP Rewards member and have bought all of my office supplies at Office Depot for the 11 years I have been in business as a solo practitioner. In April, I ordered a 4 box "set" of replacement printer cartridges for my printer, which quit working shortly after I received the order. The printer cartridges were never used and the boxes sat in my office. Today, when my new printer sent an alert that it needs a new printer cartridge, I logged onto Office Depot to find out how to exchange the order of the old printer cartridges for a new order of cartridges. The older order totaled $500. Office Depot tells me they will not accept a return or exchange because I am outside their return time window. This was their final answer after I was disconnected by phone and "live chat" three different times. I will no longer do business with Office Depot. I just placed an order with Staples for the new printer cartridges and will try to sell the never used printer cartridges for the old printer on Craig's List. read more

Office Depot does have a good selection of office supplies at a mostly reasonable price. I've bought some items there, such as office furniture, I was happy with. Price-wise they are not always the best buy in town. Their hard drives tend to cost about twenty percent more than some other stores (for the same product) than other office supply stores. But if you watch for discounts, and use the coupons they mail out, you can get a good deal. But in general if you want a better deal, I'd say shop around and call the other office stores first. On the down side, I've found their printing department to be confusing, poorly staffed and poorly organized. I've called in for a quote on a printing job and been told one thing; gone into the store and been told something else; then been told something else again by another employee, who blamed the first ones for giving me incorrect information. When I asked for a printed price sheet, they said they couldn't give me one. I'm not sure if the problem is a lack of experience on the part of the people working there, or a corporate policy of trying to rake in as much as they can at the expense of the customer by hiding or obfuscating the prices. You'd think they'd know, or learn, that an unwillingness to discuss prices up front, or to give consistent price breaks for quantity, is costing them business. read more

Purchased a laptop that had issues from day one. Being busy and this machine not being a primary computer I didn't deal with the problem until I was forced to buy office for a second time. That said its been to the repair shop twice which is a story in itself. The second time in for the same issue for over a month now. They now want me to take a used machine or a prorated discount in cash to make it right???? Stay away from Office Depot. I was here on June 16th & spent $15.41 on office supplies. They always have what Im looking for in products.

They always have plenty off customer service reps on staff but the lack of care to help you astounds me each and every time I enter this particular location. I dont know why I have given them my business when each and every time I leave disappointed. They stand around, look you in the eye, they hardly ask you if you need help. It's a hit or miss to get any help and my experiences are generally a miss. I don't know if the men working there are ashamed of their jobs, hate the customers walking through the doors, did not receive the proper training, and or are all new employees but I'm extremely dissatisfied. I think when it happens over a period of time and no improvements are made I need to share my concerns. read more

I have been coming to this location for many years. Today (6/10/2016 around 1:00 pm), I dropped off an Amazon Package for UPS return delivery. I was waiting because the guy by the copy center was helping another customer. What bugged me the most was that he did not acknowledge my presence. He could have said, "I'll be with you in a minute." He was a heavy set young man with curley hair and glasses. One of his female coworkers acknowledged my presence and got the package but I needed a receipt so that I have proof that I dropped it for return shipping to Amazon. It was not her assigned area so she passed me to the guy assigned there. He processed my package and gave me the receipt. He did not say even one word to me. Inspite of this I thanked him for it. This was the first time it happened to me in the many years I've bought school supplies for my daughters and other items I needed. I've worked in retail and healthcare customer service. What I've experience is bad, bad customer service. Nevertheless, there are good employees here who greet me when I enter the store and who are very helpful. Since my daughter (who got her two teeth pulled and drowsy from the pain drug) had been waiting in the vehicle for me I didn't have time to talk to the manager to bring this to his/her attention. read more

I recently had a great experience at this Office Depot. I ordered something online to be picked up at the store. When I arrived they had no record of my order but the manager went out of his way to make it right, making sure I got the merchandise I needed and that I was not charged twice. This was only my second trip to this particular Office Depot, but on both occasions I've been very impressed with the service. read more

This store has gone completely downhill. Understaffed and the people they do have---foreigners from India and who the heck knows where else--can hardly understand english and certainly cannot speak it and be understood. I'm never going there again. read more

if where not for Gabriel ,Renne and most of the staff at office depot I would not be able to advertise my business with photo copies, I really liked the customer service and help I get that I seriously not get anywhere else ......other places they charge to get files from the computer of fix your files.... TERRIBLE customer service. Employee #1 was friendly yet completely ineffectual; employee #2 was surly, employees #3, 4, and 5 were more interested in talking to each other and dropping (loud) F-bombs than helping customers... Note I'm up to 5 on staff here at the time and yet getting any help was a real struggle. All I had to do was copy some papers (self-serve) and ship them. Copier ran out of paper and I had to ask 3 times for someone, anyone to just give me some paper and I'd load it myself. Then shipping (after standing at the counter for some minutes waiting for two guys to conclude their loonnnggg conversation RIGHT in front of me) was a cluster-you-know-what out of an absurdist dystopian satire. I have an account and took over most of the transaction myself just to save time - so they were like, "So you're not gonna need anything else from us, right?" as they walked away....Then I had to take my package myself to the PO ten blocks away. I know it's probably not all that fun a place to work, but U Village does a much friendlier (if not very much faster) job of helping. I will make the trip down there from now on because this branch is really, truly awful. read more
