Always good customer service and helpful staff. Great selection. Super convenient and great for small projects, especially if I don't want to go over to Home Depot. This store has been my go to for a variety of things. Last summer this was the only place I found fans. For a friends birthday last year, I found the perfect gifts (they love gardening and cooking). This winter I was able to get everything I needed to winter my house and keep my pipes in good shape for the cold. read more

So terrible at keeping track of orders here. Ordered a new screen for my window back in June 2020, that set me back ~$65. I called every couple weeks to check on the status and they said it wasn't ready. I just called a few minutes ago, we'll it ends up that the screen never got made in the 1st place. Some bogus employee must of taken my info and never submitted it to get made. I wasted my time and money here. Probably would of given this place 1 star, but the store manager Travis is expediting my order in the next 24 hours. I would 100% not recommend this hardware store to anyone. Go somewhere more reliable and organized because clearly this place is not either. read more

Was so excited when this Ace Hardware opened up a few months back. Bought a few random things, one of them being a feather duster. Simple enough item, not alot of moving parts. A feather duster is a pretty basic item, but something happened with this one. First time I started using it , little flakes of feathers went where I was dusting, which sort of defeated the purpose. Feather dust on top of the dust I was using the feather duster to get rid of. For some reason I thought it would get better, which is so weird, why would a feather duster that is losing it's parts stop losing it's parts? So I took it back. I procrastinated taking it back in though. I waited a couple of months, but didn't think there'd be any hiccups in returning it since it's falling apart and loses feathers. But, nope, was promptly and stridently told that the return policy is 30 days. I was surprised a bit that they wouldn't take it back, since it was falling apart, but the person told me 'well, how do I know you didn't do something to cause it to fall apart?'. Anyway, I just decided to leave it with them; no use taking it back home, unless I wanted more feather dust in my house. read more

Top notch service. I managed to round a Craftsman 3/8 drive 6mm hex socket, and was hoping to replace it under warranty. While they could not find one on the shelf, Jon immediately ordered me one. Two days later they called to let me know it arrived. When I came in, the manager immediately knew where the new socket was and exchanged it for my damaged one. So nice to have old school customer service in the neighborhood! On another occasion, I needed some new stainless fasteners to replace my nasty rusted ones on my license plate. Some employees not wearing masks, and the few times I've been here the senior staff are impatient and rude. They seem bothered by questions. The younger staff have been helpful and courteous. Friendly and approachable people, good selection and prices for a small neighborhood hardware store. None of that touches their customer service, though. First time at the Ace and it will be my last. Wow, was in to pick up calk supplies and overheard an employee chewing out a young man that asked the employee to wear a mask. If you value Covid-19 safety precautions, don't go here. I was in one of the aisles looking at supplies, and no less than 3 people tried to squeeze by me instead of going down another aisle where there wasn't anyone. The last time it was the store clerk! Apparently they think that if you wear a mask, not only you don't need to social distance but getting within inches of another person is just fine. Seems like a fine place for all the Covid deniers to hang out, but I for one will never be shopping there again, and will let all my friends know about this. I manage apartment buildings and go here for keys sometimes because my regualr locksmith isn't open on weekends. I've also purchased various hardware items here. Everyone's nice, the location is super convenient and it's nice to be able to find what I need in a small local shop. Unfortunately, the keys I get here don't work about 20-25% of the time. They take them back and refund me or recut them, but this eliminates the convenience factor. I don't go here for keys anymore unless it can't wait til Monday. read more

I like to support local business and have used Tweedy and Popp on Crown Hill several times. However, the staff is not wearing masks during the Covid virus outbreak. I spoke to the manager about this and he said that some of the staff have respiratory issues (all the more reason to wear a mask I think). I said I would feel much better if the staff wore masks to protect the public and he responded that I could do curb-side pickup or shop somewhere else. Not the customer first policy I would expect from a local establishment considering the government directive to wear masks during this epidemic. read more

This is a very well-stocked hardware store but it doesn't feel safe to shop there during the pandemic. The staff doesn't wear masks, nor is there a plexiglas divider by the check stand. When I asked why they weren't taking those precautions, one of the staff members said the owner didn't think it was necessary. Until the pandemic ends or they take proper precautions, I won't be back. read more

Even though prices are a little higher, I'd rather shop local than big box. Made several purchases here that were fine. They carry a huge amount of stuff. Unfortunately, they don't always have the # of nuts and bolts I'm looking for and some drawers are too high to view easily. Staff are nice - at least the younger ones are. They don't always handle more than a few customers very well and the old guy can be impatient and rude. read more
