I've been in tech for decades, and I know service matters. Instead of shopping in stores and buying online, I check online and buy locally, usually, to get service if there's a problem. OD is close and had a toner cartridge for a nice, online price. I went to the store and the cartridge was significantly more expensive. It'd probably be a wash when you add shipping for online, but they shouldn't be doing that. They have the store for a reason and it's cheaper to ship bulk. The sales people are always great at quickly matching the online price, but many folks might not realize to do that and it's also a way to kill the stores when people find out and get angry. The store prices should match the online price. Still, the store is handy and the people are always very helpful. It's the pricing that keeps it from a five-star review. read more

The employees at Office Depot were amazing and helped me when I had very important items to be printed for my business in a very short amount of time. I originally ordered online from vista prints but the brochures for my company didn't make it in time. I went to Office Depot at 3:30pm the afternoon before I needed these brochures. Jessie in the printing center re-created my brochures and had them printed and ready to pick up by 4:45pm same day, only about an hour after I placed the order. She was amazing to work with, made it easy, and the brochures looked wonderful. I was so happy and relived, she saved the day. I will always go back to Office Depot for all my business printing needs. The rest of the employees were just as kind and helpful. I really can't express how grateful I am! I went to Office Depot in Spokane Valley, WA to print a few resumes prior to some upcoming job interviews. I had a little trouble with their printers, but eventually figured it out. I said "Thanks" to the ladies at the checkout lane, and started walking out of the store. One of the ladies (named Jessie) must've thought I was outside already because she turned to her coworker (Debbie) and said "That guy seemed kinda RETARDED, didn't he?" They proceeded to laugh afterward. I stopped for a second because I couldn't believe what I'd just heard, and then I went back to my car out of embarrassment. I can't stand the use of that word, and I wanted to let them know how wrong it was to say that crap about me simply because their printers are kind of intricate. I went back inside to buy a small bottle of hand sanitizer just to catch a glimpse of their name tags (for this complaint), and I told them how messed up they were for saying that about me. Jessie tried to gaslight me, but I know what I heard and I won't forget it. The customer service I experienced was some of the worst I've ever seen. read more

Just stopped in to print off statements. Saturday at noon. The woman who helped us was short, with glasses, young, and a complete brat. She was ridiculously unpleasant and rude. She didn't have a name tag on. She had no answers for canvas printing, which we will be doing at the UPS store. I needed help with the stapler (which was empty) and she proceeded to make me feel stupid. Save your money Office Depot and hire someone with actual customer service skills. Save your money people and go to the UPS store on Sullivan. It's cheaper, has helpful kind staff, and is just a few minutes away. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK. read more

Service stinks. First time in I was looking for a laptop, they had a sale so I stopped in. I asked about the items on sale and the guy walked in a circle around the laptops then walked away from me. I asked a second man where the first had went he said he was sure he would be right back that he must have gone to check on something. None of them talked to me the rest of my vist. Second time in I was buying an office chair. I knew what I wanted and were it was so I got it and made a quick bee line for the register. When I got there they had to call the manager for an override because it was the last in stoked display item. No big deal until he took 15 minutes to get there. I went there last night trying to find something and an employee asked me if I needed help, I said yes. (He was organizing a shelf) and he responded with an attitude of irritation "Ok be there in a minute" It was clear that he was "supposed" to say that and hoping to get the usual "no thanks, just looking" comment. He seemed very irritaed that I needed him! PLUS, they selection compared to other competitors is blahhh. The only thing I like about this store is the clearance section. read more

After the rudeness I received today I will never set foot in an office depot again. The tone of the voice is used in a demanding that I had too wear a mask or I could not be there. I have underlying medical conditions that prevent me from wearing one. I have never been treated so rudely by the women this morning. As a disabled veteran I have never had an issue about having to wear a mask. And if you read the rules and you have a medical condition you do not have to wear one. I have been to many stores and businesses and I just say I have a medical condition and they say fine. read more

Employees are grumpy and not friendly. Worst technology return policy I've ever heard. Do not recommend buying electronics from them if you are not completely sure you're going to keep it. I went to Office Depot to get my computer fixed. Paid $198.00 and had the same problem when I had the computer at home. So, I brought it back in and it worked fine. At home, once again it did not. So, a "geek", who actually knows what he's doing, had my computer running just fine in about 20 mins. He told me the Office Depot ran my computer on Internet Explorer even though the Depot employee was told by me that I use Google Chrome. When I went in yesterday , he was very apologetic but was not able or willing to give me even a partial refund and told me that they don't fix Google problems. Don't go there unless you feel like donating almost $200.00. I should have been told up front to take it someplace else. read more

I was shopping for a desk for my apartment today and the service I received was absolutely impeccable! I walked in and a gentleman greeted me and asked if I needed help finding anything. I didn't until I found an amazingly priced desk and hutch. As I was on the brink of purchasing I realized that I would not be home to receive the free delivery in time (I would be gone until August). The same gentleman spoke to his manager and they provided the perfect resolution for my issue. They would honor the sale price when I returned to Washington. I was astounded and ever so grateful! I sincerely appreciate the professional demeanor and consideration I received! I will definitely be returning to this store and am very excited to get my desk in August! Deservedly one star. They charge you for recycling any electronic items. Staff were unfriendly, unhelpful. You have to look for someone to ask. I recommend shop at Staples. They take your recycled electronic items for free. Staff are friendly. Prices are better. read more

I do not frequent Office Depot often enough to comment on the store or general service.... However... on march 4th I was there at closing time. The two gentlemen were pleasant to me, although it took me a very long time to deliberate and decide on a small purchase, a birthday gift. I wanted to wrap the gift, but they don't carry wrapping paper. I grabbed some of the fliers by the door and asked to borrow some tape. They accommodated all of my strangeness and poor planning (last minute shopping) graciously. Normally I am inclined to write a blurb about the inadequacies of customer service almost everywhere, because I am fussy and have done a lot of work helping patrons find what they need to the best of my ability, or work to help resolve an any issues they may experience. It is important to me to share this, and I finally signed up for this app because a small act of kindness is noteworthy and almost restores my faith in humanity... Well, for at least five minutes two weeks ago anyhow ;) I hope the manager at Office Depot sees this, because I was going to fill out an online survey and lost my receipt. And seriously, large chain stores are not generally pleasant places to work, so power to anyone who can get through the day working in retail without going "postal". That goes double for middle management. Very grateful for my experience visiting that store. read more

I went there to get a combination/key safe they said they didn't have the one I wanted that I could order it online and have it shipped to store not only did the online site say that they had it in store they also followed me all over the store and told me I need to hurry up and make a decision all because I left my bag by customer service so I didn't get blamed for stealing or something stupid cause they profile everyone walking in there very rude service I asked for help to order safe online they wouldn't hello me at all and asked me to leave I work 40 plus hrs a week and pay my taxes for them to treat a hard working person like that in despicable never going to another one again read more

Tech support is useless.The manager told me she would do a free diagnosis about what was running at startup on my new Windows 10 laptop--it was running slowly. After waiting 35 minutes, she said a scan showed I did not have a virus protection program, and she tried to sell me one. I repeated that I wanted to know what kind of bloatware had come with the computer, and she said I would have to pay to find that out. Clearly, the "free diagnosis" is only to sell an anti virus program that Office Depot is pushing. I regret wasting my time there. read more
