We bought an office star desk from a furniture store right before we moved. The closing was delayed, so we didn't start assembling the desk until about 6 weeks later. Upon assembly, a metal part was defective. It was missing grommets necessary for the other parts to screw into it. per the instruction, we emailed the parts department on the first of the month and provided our receipt, model info, picture, etc. We called the next week to follow up and were told they will in answer in 5-7 business days. On the 10th business day, we called and were given a hard time before being transferred to a voicemail. The next day someone called back to say our ticket was assigned to an employee, who we left another voicemail for. 2 days later we get an email that says the address and name in the receipt doesn't match our request and it has to be reviewed by quality assurance. So we explained over email we moved, we are married with different last names. 3 days later we get a response that they will send the part. Part finally arrives, is correct so we continue assembling just to learn we are completely missing other necessary parts. So we emailed the contact back. No response. 3 more days we sent a follow up email to that person and the main box. At this point, we have a partially assembled desk that's been taking up an entire room for over a month and zero response. Complete waste of money and time, and still no desk. We ask if we can return this junk somewhere, and still no response. Poorly made pieces, missing pieces, and awful customer service and still no desk. If I could give them less than 1 star I woul. Don't waste your money or time on their products. read more

Giving a 3-star review, but will be updating once I see what the outcome is. I won one of their chairs at a charity event via raffle drawing. However, when I unboxed it, I noticed the cylinder piece was missing. I wrote to their parts department asking if they could just send me the piece. The response I received was "the price for the cylinder is $20.32 + shipping". Now, I know I won this chair in a raffle, but I don't think it's right that they make someone pay for a missing piece because the manufacturer didn't do a final check of the parts that SHOULD be included in the box. I've reached out to the charity host to try and obtain the original proof of purchase, so hopefully, if I can show that this is in fact a mistake on the manufacturer's part they won't make me pay the "$20.32 + shipping". The service & the response isn't horrible, but it did irk me a bit. Will update once I receive their response. read more

Ordered a console table and it arrived missing half of the hardware needed for assembly. Tried to use the online parts replacement form and I could only fill out the name , address and model number. (Messed with this for 1 1/2 hours). The area for the parts would not work. I called Office Star for assistance to get the correct parts. The customer service rep recommended that I get somebody to help me. I'm 73 and new in my community, I don't think the people I know ( mainly doctors) would help. The chair arrived in an open box, the parts did not fit, some were missing, some were damaged. It was absolute junk! I called customer service they transferred me to parts where I got voice mail. I called back and was transferred to a manager again voice mail. I sent emails that went un answered. The service is terriable matched only by the low quality products. Purchased a beautiful Executive office chair leather from Staples, this chair began to come apart on the leather seat seam. After 12 months, I only weigh 110 lbs.... it is now 15 months and the tear is more defined and uncomfortable I have been calling Office Star Products for weeks now... I spend usually an hour trying get a response. Nothing. Their voice mail is a loop that just goes over and over. I sent a pic of the tear to their website to chat, no one chats with you, and no response from my pic of the tear. I am so disappointed and the customer service is horrible, it feels like there is no Office Star company actually. I have had my phone today for 40 minutes waiting for Customer Service to pick up. I did three times and zero response! I also left voicemails. Nothing! I ended up returning the chair because of this to the retail location where I purchased it. If I could give them zero stars I would. Purchased a chair from Costco, all of the parts did not fit. I contacted them, was told to email them. I did, requested part #'s 15 & 17. I received 15, which is a screw that still doesn't fit into part 17. Sent another email, 12 days later no response. Left a voicemail no response. Office chair that was only 10 months old had the faux leather seat seam come apart. Hubby is only 140 pounds and it should not have come apart. Not only that but the 1 year warranty had my husband calling and emailing several times with no response. Claim was put in as recommended on 4/28/21. Following up several times within the last 3 months finally had someone tell us that it shipped on 7/6/21. The packing slip said it was shipped on 7/13 (a week later!) We finally received it on 7/19. To those of you who gave this company an excellent rating, I don't know what to think about that as most of the ratings show our experience with a one star. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. So during this process several of the cam screws broke, i went back and bought more...finished putting this thing together and they have the doors labeled wrong. There is one door that will not shut all the way because its the wrong door... I've sent several emails to Joey Aguliar but all he did was send me replacement hardware...which is not what I need. I need the correct door. I spent $1000 on this kitchen island, that's a lot of money for it to have arrived the way it did. If I could give them zero stars I would. I would never voluntarily choose to shop here but apparently they operate as a vendor for Home Depot. I bought a bedroom set through Home Depot and half the parts were warped or broken. I've tried for weeks to get a replacement part and keep getting the run around. I've reported them to BBB for fraudulent practices and have also contested the credit card charges with Home Depot due to their sheer negligence. So I purchased an Office Star chair from a local retailer here last month (August '14.) Within two-weeks of having the chair assembled the decorative studs came apart on one of the arms. In with the documentation of my Office Star chair I found a page which read: "Congratulations on your new purchase. If you find any part missing or damaged, we will remedy the problem so there will be no need to return to the store. E-Mail, Fax or Call us and we will attempt to ship (via UPS) any needed parts within 24-hours." So like an idiot I complied with their request with the hopes of obtaining a replacement part. I sent two emails which included a photograph of the issue I was having but never got a response. I followed up via telephone last week and spoke with a man in parts (whose name escapes me.) I told him about my two previous emails attempting to get a replacement part both of which went unanswered. He reassured me he would relay the message to his associate and she would call me back ASAP. It's been a week since that last conversation and still no call back. I have no other choice but to return the chair back to the place I purchased it from. If you are experiencing issues with an Office Star product do yourself a favor and don't jump through their hoops. Just take it back to where you purchased it from because based upon my experiences they have no interest in standing behind their products. read more

I purchased two office chairs via Walmart - one was a Better Homes and Gardens, the other was an Office Star (Office Star Faux-Leather Manager's Office Chair with Padded Arms). The BH&G chair was a breeze to put together! The Office Star, not so much. The holes in the thick padding did not align with the holes on the arm pieces, making it all but impossible to line everything up and get tightened down without stripping a screw. Almost caused a divorce as well. Harrrrumph! My chair is very comfy, but seriously, do something about the level of difficulty in putting this chair together. read more

This company is responsible for one of the worst shopping experiences of my entire life. First, the filing cabinet I ordered took FOUR FULL WEEKS to arrive (rather than the 7-10 days promised). Next, when it finally arrived, the pieces inside the box did not match each other. That's right, someone actually put items from two different products into the box to ship out. Then, after taking the damn thing apart and returning it for an exchange, the replacement arrived nearly three weeks later with THE SAME PROBLEM! I did find one person on the phone who seemed to have a half a brain and acknowledge the problem. She explained that they don't actually manufacture the pieces there but that they are shipped in from overseas, so that's why there may have been some discrepancy. Unfortunately, when I tried to go up the chain to get satisfaction from someone with the authority to compensate me for my time and effort, I met with only obnoxious brick walls. I could go on and on about my numerous phone conversations and emails with these people. But suffice it to say, DON'T EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM OFFICE STAR, EVER! And don't let anyone you know (unless you hate them) do so either. This is the perfect example of a middle-man business model that does nothing to better society, just acts as an inconvenience-breeding parasite. read more

I've had an Office Star chair (#57906) for 2 or 3 years. It's a very comfortable chair and even if I spend most of the day at my desk, I never get fatigued. Because my 5 year old grand daughter likes to climb on it, the arms have received unusual abuse, in spite of my warnings that she would damage the arm pads. A few weeks ago I noticed that there was a split in one of the arm pads, not a big deal but I like the chair so much I wanted to replace them. I contacted the parts department at Office Star Products in Ontario, Ca and spoke with Carrie. My intention was to purchase new pads and I was hoping they wouldn't be too expensive, but anyone who's had to buy replacement parts from a manufacturer knows that many companies put outrageous prices on parts since often the consumer has no alternative source for purchasing them. To my surprise, Carrie told me that she would be able to replace the arm pads at no charge, even though I couldn't remember how old the chair was. She said Office Star chairs carry a 3 year warranty (which I didn't know about) and that my chair was close enough that she wasn't going to make me search for a receipt that I may no longer have. That was two days ago, and today I received the arm pads! Two days! No charge, not even shipping and handling. Few companies that I've dealt with could match this level of service. My hat's off to Office Star for exceptional service and an exceptional product, and to Carrie for taking customer satisfaction seriously. Thanks again Carrie! read more

We bought an Office Star chair from Costco. It looked great but didn't last even six months before the arm rests delaminated. Next the stitching came apart between the back rest frame and the see through material across the back. This was followed by a complete failure of the seat operating mechanisms, IE. it won't stay up. swings sideways as you shift your weight and won't stay at any setting except all the way back or locked it the straight up position. Bottom line this was a truly worthless purchase. I will be calling Costco to see what help they can give me. In the beginning I would have happily accepted a simple replacement of parts. I ordered a chair - RGT51-J6 - and it arrived with half of the hardware missing. They include a note inside the box that says "if anything is missing we do our best to provide it in 48 hours" - I have contacted this company 4 times to get the missing hardware sent to me and they have been 100% non-responsive. So instead of sending me the missing 10 bolts - I am sending them their chair back. In reading the reviews - sems like missing hardware is common with this company so save yourself the trouble and order from a company that provides quality product and quality customer service. read more

Purchased a very simple $80 work station chair from Staples who got it from Office Star. It took Office Star almost 3 WEEKS to ship it 53 miles (Ontario, Ca. to Long Beach Ca.!)
