Noticed cracks developing in the waterslide and rock feature that was built ~20 years ago…read more Contacted Rockworks for a quote and received. -demo and haul off slide and adjacent material that might be compromised as well -build new footings to stabilize the walls of slide -build new slide -remove and replace all compromised rebar on the inside under stairs and waterfall -shoot gunite to cover all rebar to insure structural integrity -fill all cracks with hydraulic cement and acrylic -waterproof all waterways -stain all rockwork to like new condition -apply deckoshield over stain for extra layer of protection. $11,500 I asked if that was the best price we could do and he came back with $11,100. Half before the repair starts and half when it's complete. We agreed to have the repairs done. The repair seemed to go well, and looked pretty good. But I did notice that our property did not seem to be respected. We have RV gates on either side of the house and I asked that only the right side gate was used because I had done landscaping inside of the left gate and there was no walkway up to the left gate. This wasn't followed, and the left gate seemed to be used exclusively. A few cacti were knocked over, they are between the street and the gate. I contacted Jason a few days into the job and reiterated that I did not want the left gate used, he said he would talk to his guys. Every cactus on the right side of the pool was stepped on, the rosemary and other plant on the left side of the pool was painted, the landscape light was stepped on and broken, the dragonfruit plant that was 15 ft from the structure was broken, Succulents that were also 15-20 ft away were stepped on, there was concrete dust dumped onto the stonescape by the yard, 20-25ft from the structure, the tape used to put plastic on the decking pulled the paint up and now there are long streaks of missing paint, there is a hose shaped line across the middle of the yard of dead grass, there was wire left on the RV gates, random plastic also on the RV gate, there was a 5 gallon bucket lid laying beside the house, All 3 trashcans were scattered along the side of the house. I told Jason about this and he offered to look everything over the next day, at that point I had already started cleaning things up, I told him that he doesn't need to but he's welcome to come by and take a look, he didn't. After I filled up the pool, I ran the waterslide/waterfall and noticed that the slide was sending water down the steps. Jason said that they used the existing return and I should turn down the water to the slide. I told him that it didn't send water down the steps before but tried to turn the slide down and it didn't help. He sent someone out the next day to fix it and that repair went smoothly.

Two weeks ago, I move into my new house in the PebbleCreek 55+ community in Goodyear, AZ. My concern was that I felt the result was very different from what I hoped. I was disappointed. I hoped to have one of the nicest properties in the community, and instead I felt a little embarrassed. This is my fault, but I was out of the country for a couple of months while the company was doing the install, and I was too busy to give the project the careful thought that it required. After being in the house for one week, I decided that I was unhappy enough to be feel bad instead of happy about my new front and back yards. I decided to find another landscaper to totally redo the landscaping. I had seen the Desert Sage Landscaping truck several times over the past few months working on nicely landscaped properties (I rented a house in the community for 8 moths while they built my house). I liked what I saw. I talked with one of the guys and he took me to the owner, Miguel. I liked having the owner actively maintaining landscapes because that gave me confidence that he had a lot of practical, on the job experience with plants in our desert environment. I showed him my front and back yards and told him what I wanted done. I asked him about many plants that I liked and he told me what was good and what was bad. He was speaking from experience in maintaining so many properties. He gave me a plan within 24 hours and began a couple of days later. He and his crew spent about a week replacing the walkways and plants, and adding boulders, hills, irrigation, lights and many plants. The price was reasonable and the result is excellent. If you are building a very upscale home, then Greescapes is not the landscaping firm to use…read more Greenscapes was recommended by my builder. Our house is in a very upscale community in Fountain Hills AZ. I engaged Frank and his team to install driveway pavers for a very steep driveway- the house is located on a mountainside- decking around the pool, landscaping and irrigation. The pool decking material-limestone tile- was moved from the cul sac in wheelbarrows and deposited in the pool since it could not be installed because of other construction activity. The decking material cracked as a result and Frank instructed the crew to install the cracked limestone tile and then insulted our intelligence and said that cracked tile is in vogue. Apparently Frank hired a crew "off the street" to do the work without any oversight from Greenscapes. Frank insisted on only replacing a certain number of limestone tiles and after a great deal of stress the pool decking was installed with creative direction from me. Second, the irrigation system was chewed up by the critters because Greenscapes apparently installed the rubber piping incorrectly. When I reached out Frank said too bad but "best practice was used" and he would be more than happy to quote a price to fix something Greenscapes did wrong in the first place. DO NOT USE THIS FIRM
