Highly recommend for quality of work and fairness of price. We became acquainted with SVH Landscaping Services when our neighbor had his trees trimmed by Saul. We asked for a quote for 3 trees and we immediately hired them. We ended up adding another 4 palms and 3 smaller trees to the job. The reason we added more trees it's because the crew gave us a very fair price and they handled themselves like professionals. SVH, owner Saul, has all the equipment to cut and mulch big trees with huge branches. We have a Eucalyptus tree that is maybe 30-40ft in height and we were having too much debris going into the pool. Also the eucalyptus tree was heavy on one side and we had concerns about branches breaking with a strong wind. SVH definitely makes sure you get your monies worth by trimming a lot, so if you don't want your trees too bare, make sure to let them know because they work hard for their money. We are definitely pleased with the results and absolutely, recommend SVH Landscaping Services. Concerning liability, because 2 of our trees were very tall, we were concerned about liability; thankfully, SVH is licensed and insured, so that gave us peace of mind. Our observations of this crew is that they run like a well oiled machine, but it was definitely scary to watch them up high on the trees, fortunately, they know what they are doing and we were VERY happy with the results. I read these amazing reviews here on Yelp and then saw their website as well. So I called and spoke to Saul, the owner that I have a project which I'd like to get a bid on. The website and his yep page, clearly say, call for a Free Estimate and Quote (See attached screenshot). He even told me over the phone that he will come give a free estimate after he measures everything. He came here to my house, I spent time with him showing him the details of my project, drew it on paper for him. Then he said can he have 15 mins to measure thing, and I said yes. After he was done measuring, he comes to me and says "I'm sorry, I forgot to tell you that I don't give free quotes, and I have to charge $150 for it". I told him that he actually advertises that he gives free quotes, so he said his free quotes are only for service. He has to pay his Secretary for an hour of her work to make calls and get prices of plants, so before he can give me a quote, he will charge me $150, and then if I don't like his price, that fee is non-refundable. I don't know why he even then came to my house? He should just say over the phone and his website, that he charges $150 to come give estimates / bids if it is a PROJECT. Otherwise, he seemed like a nice person, so I cannot comment on his work, but to me that is a little bit strange. I understand there is cost of business, but he should be telling that over the phone. So anyone contacting him for a project BID, please make sure you ask him about his new "$150" bidding cost. read more

Saul did an amazing job of laying concrete for me! Very thorough. When I first made contact with him, he immediately wanted to see what needed to be done in the backyard. I told him we had a big tree stump that needed to be totally uprooted. He did it, and laid concrete over a very large area. Saul also did my irrigation system in the front of my house. My plants, etc, are growing well with just the needed water distributed daily. I wish I had a before and after pic of my yard (side by side). Highly recommend SVH for landscaping rock removal and placement of new rock. I've hated the jagged rock in my front yard for 10 years and finally decided to remove it all together and upgrade to smooth river rock. Plus my yard was really uneven of thick rock in one place then no rock and loads of dirt in another. I also wanted to have some small hardscapes removed. I searched for a licensed landscaper with great review who I could trust not to damage the river rock I picked out ($750.00 a ton from The Stone Yard who I also HIGHLY recommend). SVH came out within a couple of days for the estimate, sent a quote a few days later, then started shortly after. Not long at all, plus I have other projects outside going on so they were flexible with scheduling. Their estimate for the amount of rock needed was RIGHT ON, which was essential because at $750/ton I did not want to buy too much that can't be returned or placed anywhere else. SVH removed all the old rock and hardscapes within two afternoons, then leveled and placed the new rock in one day. They even have their own dump trucks which saved me delivery fees. They understood my requests to make the dry rock river curvier (kind of hard to see from the picture because the rocks are the same color just different sizes) and they included spraying pre-emergent for weeds (lasts one year). Can't say enough about the great service Saul at SVH handled for me this weekend. Winds picked up, large tree branch snapped overnight and Sunday morning we had an issue for our visiting friends. I have been utilizing SVH/business owner Saul for 15 or 20 years, and I can firmly say, they are great at what they primarily do, and have many other, not listed, services they can provide. For example, in addition to the regularly scheduled landscaping service (which by the way, you can set a watch to - they are extremely consistent in their regular appearance, and always do as good job), they've mended my shared fence, trimmed my trees, installed pavers, even offered to fix my roof after storm damage. In a few weeks, I am having them demolish an old hot tub and a pond (real eyesores), which they're adding pavers to afterwards. He was in constant communication with us, showed up as expected each day with a crew of 3-6 EMPLOYEES (employees not day labor) so they all were very professional and competent. And they do a full clean-up at the end of each day. The project included relocating an ocotillo, removing all the old gravel and river bed, then leveling the ground. I was quite impressed by their work ethic...these guys worked HARD on my project, so I thought it good to have them back again this year.
