I received a root canal from this location in 2021 and the experience left me with trauma for root canals. I cried in the chair and the doctor continued to work on me, it wasn't until it was evident to all that I was hysterical under the drills they then said "oh it's just a hot tooth" after working on it for 10+ minutes with me crying. Needless to say the root canal was divided in two appointments and completed. Fast forward to 2026, a root canal is needed on the same tooth with multiple doctors asking me "did you go to a specialist the first time?". After the procedure, they informed me that I had a canal that was completely missed in my 2021 root canal and only 3/4 of the canals were properly done. I would recommend finding a different location unless you want a painful, expensive, half done procedure. It's 2026, the doctor is still the same so I'm sure there will be others in the future who will have similar complaints. read more

This was my first visit to an Endodontist and my very first root canal. I have to say... I was so pleasantly surprised. As far as the office and office staff-all wonderful. Very friendly from the front desk to the back. The most important thing to me was the knowledge of Dr. Ogden and the way in which she explained the procedure. I felt very comfortable, and all of my fears were squashed! Highly recommend this practice, if unfortunately, you need it! read more

So like most of you, I have always been afraid of the two little words: root canal. I'm in my 30's, have had plenty of fillings, but I've always been able to avoid the dreadful "root canal"... well 30 years of soda, ice cream, and sour patch kids finally caught up with me, and I was referred to Ogden by my dentists, Dr. Kent at The Dental Studio Of Hampton Roads. Like most of you- I was extremely nervous, I've only ever heard horror stories about root canals. I went in first just for a consultation. I will admit the building WAS a little confusing, but they are remodeling the main entrance, so that is not permanent. But they are located upstairs if you take the stair well that faces mount trashmore it will take you right up to them. The office is very clean and very up to date. It has a vibe like you are going to a spa! All of the staff members are extremely friendly and helpful! I was seen by Dr Mary Beth Sorrentino, and let me tell you she was a delight! She was super nice, super informative, and made me feel so comfortable about the situation! When I came back for my root canal she gave me an overview of all the work she was going to be performing before she began. She numbed me up, and I never felt a thing after that. She did her work and explained to me what she was doing through each and every step of the way. Very professional. The rest of the day My mouth didn't feel any different than when you get a filling to be honest. And guess what, I enjoyed the root canal so much.... I went back for a second one a few weeks later! Dr. Ross delivered top notch care with a pleasant professional personality in a relaxing environment. No qualms here. The issue I encountered was with the office staff. First of all, I don't care discussing insurance, finances etc, standing at a counter in the waiting room with other patients listening in and the office staff sitting down behind the counter, it limits good communication. Secondly, my copay/estimate was pointed out by staff in a folder flashed briefly at me according to my insurance. It was not mentioned that my insurance was out of Network and therefore my copay higher, but I did familiarize myself with the figure I was responsible for. In hindsight, I should have asked for a written estimate with all the disclosures like I always receive at Konikoff prior to treatment. As I was a returning patient (different insurance) I trusted the office. Big mistake. If a patient is told a certain amount is your responsibility this is what you are expecting, give or take a few dollars. Not $480 more. So patient beware. I called the office to discuss the bill in a polite and professional manner to find myself talked down to and told there is nothing else they can do other than a 3 months payment plan. Too sad, lesson learned, I suggest that every patient should request a printed estimate. A not returning patient. read more

I was referred here by my dentist for a mild issue that I am having with a tooth. The office is off of Independence Blvd right next to Mt. Trashmore. The office building is shared by 2 other offices. This office is on the 2nd floor. I saw Dr. Ogden and she was very nice. They offered me a deluxe scan which isn't covered by insurance to be able to really see what my issue was. She is suggesting a root canal which I am TERRIFIED about because I have never had any issues with my teeth in all my life...not even a filling. She told me what to expect and I am a little more calm now. The office is BEAUTIFUL & very soothing. I told them that it felt like I was in a spa. The waiting area has a tv that plays soothing music and shows pictures of nature while you relax. They even had incense burning in the back which wasn't too bad. I've never experienced anything like that before. The staff was friendly and helpful. I am scheduled to go back for a 2-part root canal next month. I doubt my review will change. If it does, I will update at that time. So far, I would definitely recommend this office for any of your dental needs. read more

This office is gorgeous with a beautiful view of the lake. Dr. Ogden and her staff are awesome. I just moved to VA and I've only used one endodontist ever. I found her on Yelp as I don't have a referring dentist yet. I'm happy to contribute to the positive reviews and to say i officially I have a new endodontist. I was refereed by my dentist for two root canals! Just had my first one done and was completely terrified going in because I've heard all the horror stories about root canals. Dr Ross was amazing! Explains everything very thoroughly! Makes sure to get you numb enough and check that you are before ever starting the procedure and answered every question I've had so nicely! I'm not even nervous about going back for my second because this one went so well! Front staff is also very nice! Love the atmosphere. I almost fell asleep during my root canal I was so relaxed! They also let you listen to music during it which helped me a ton! read more

I got my very first root canal today! I am writing a review to let you know that my experience was amazing! The staff here is extremely friendly and answer questions with educated answers that I could understand. I was absolutely terrified to go and get this procedure done Dr. Ogden was awesome, you can sense that she really cares about her patients and that she is extremely skilled at what she does. There was no pain during the procedure, she checked in numerous times to make sure that I was doing okay. I am about 4 hours out of the chair and all numbness has gone away and I have absolutely no pain. Happy Camper! Thanks Dr. Ogden! read more

Horrible customer service at the front desk. I will never recommend nor come back to this place of business. I was talked to like I was an idiot looked down on. The lady at the front was very nasty in her tone and choice of words. I didn't even go to my scheduled visit I just turned around and left. Dr Ogden is very good, however her office personnel will keep me from going back! A doctors staff can make or break their business & this staff is defiantly not helping her! (Particularly the first person you see when you walk in the door!) Really sad!!! read more

If i could give more than 5 stars I would. No one ever wants to get a root canal but if you need one you have to go see Dr. Ogden. The staff is super friendly and accommodating and the process is so efficient and completely pain free. I was in and out in 45 minutes with no pain or discomfort and most of that time was just waiting for the numbness to kick in and filling out a little bit of paperwork. The root canal itself felt like it took 5-10 minutes. Highly recommend for anyone needing a root canal. read more

I had an appointment today. When making the appointment I asked several times if I would be able to get Everything done today. Was told yes. I had to take off a couple hours from work for this appointment, had to be back at work at certain time. Appointment was 11:45 for consult and 12pm for root canal. Was not even called back until after 12 (so know way could get them both done in the time frame I was guaranteed to be done so I could get back to work. When called to the back the lady told me they were running behind. Front desk denied this. I may not have Dr., DDS, behind my name but my time is just as valuable. Tooth still hurting nothing was done.....oh but charged me for office visit. read more

Very slow. Long wait. They need to worry more about getting the work done and less about talking to each other. Do not recommend, did not enjoy the experience. The Dr. Ogden had an air of 'superiority' about her that has no place in the environment. read more
