Don't go here!! They charged $43 for cleaning my knee-length, no collar, no decorative details, plain silk dress.

Our table cloth has been at Ogden Cleaners since the 17th of December. Our house in Malibu burnt down during the fires on January 7th, 2025 and PCH has been closed on and off since then. Today while PCH had a hard close because of rain, Ogden Cleaners charged my partner's credit card (that they had on file) for the dry cleaning of the table cloth that hadn't been picked up yet. They charged them without contacting us at all. Despite no longer having a table, we of course intended to collect the table cloth that they had cleaned as soon as it were possible, since we are no longer living in Malibu due to the destruction of our house. I tell this story to urge others to not store a credit card on file with Ogden's as I consider this an abuse of the honor system. Under the current circumstances created by the fire, of limited access to Malibu from elsewhere, as well as this client's inability to prioritize picking up the tablecloth, it would have been more appropriate to call us with a reminder to pick up the table cloth and let us know that if we were not able to at this time that we would be charged for it. Instead, there was no attempt at contact and I was charged without notification and without my consent. I write to warn others of Ogden's dishonest business practices and insensitivity to our community at this difficult time. read more

My daughter brought in a puffer jacket and was charged $85 for dry cleaning. The woman behind the counter gave her a discount. The jacket isn't worth $85. I believe she was overcharged because she is a young student. We take ownership of not asking the price before services were rendered, so this is a warning about their exorbitant prices. Just because you are located in Malibu doesn't mean you can overcharge ridiculous prices or take advantage of young people. Would never return again. read more

Ogden's is the best dry cleaner in the Malibu area. I've been a customer for more than 4 years. They are like family to me! Everyone at this cleaner is super helpful & friendly. They do a beautiful job with their clothing. They take pride in their work! They are also fast & super detailed. When I need a delivery it is on the day I ask and always on time. Ogden cleaners in Malibu has always done a fantastic job with our clothes. Never had an issue. This however is an example as to why they are exceptional. End of last year I met with Suzy and brought with me a 20 year old bathrobe. The robe belongs to my wife, she loves it. Soft, warm, broken in. Only problem was it was 20 years old and was a little ripped here and there in addition to being paper thin in many areas. I asked Suzy if she could recondition the robe and explained the sentimental value. Her expressions were pretty funny. The robe did look like road kill. She offered to make a new custom robe and promised it would be amazing. I was adamant, she saw it and I left the heirloom with her. A week later I picked it up and gift wrapped it. My wife's expression when she opened it was priceless, she couldn't believe it was the same robe, it looked fantastic. Suzy and David are true professionals, they run their business well and are very consistent. We would never consider going anywhere else. read more

Do not come here! They screwed up my laundry and after being a loyal ten year plus customer they didn't take responsibility. Instead acted like they were doing me a favor to clean my clothes that came back like they had dried wet and undeniably smelled like mold. Then after being rude and nasty they refused future service. I guess this is what happens when you have an issue with their overpriced "work". Save your clothes and money and go elsewhere! Got a pair of Show me you Mumu trousers hemmed there and the fitting was it was so quick under 5 mins. Everything has always been on time and as requested. Thank you Ogden!!!! I went into Ogden to pickup a pair of jeans I had mended a couple of weeks ago before the Covid 19 breakout. I was wearing a pathetic homemade mask. The seamstress handed me the most amazing mask she had made for her customer's. She took great care making these mask that included a wire and an insert for a coffee filter. If I could give zero stars I would, because this place is the biggest rip off I have ever been to! I know prices in Malibu are high, but this place takes it to a whole new level. I brought in 2 items, a pair of jeans and a dress and asked them to take 2 inches off of each. They did not even use the original hem on the jeans and it took them almost a week to get them finished. But here is the crazy part: it cost me $80! I had a 20% discount and it still cost me $80 to get two items shortened in a weeks time without even applying original hems! What?! I get items dry cleaned all over the place quite often and I have never paid these prices. It usually costs me about $20 per item to get an easy alteration like this, about half of what I paid here even with my discount. Needless to say I am never going back and I wouldn't reccommend this place to anyone. This is just another hole in the wall dry cleaners, they aren't using 14k gold thread or anything, I promise. I brought some clothes here for the first time a few months ago. Two blouses, two jackets, and a dress. No alterations, just cleaning. $60 +. Meh, I guess it could have been more, considering the area, but it was still a little more than I was prepared to spend. From what I remember there was no price list around and they didn't offer you a potential dollar amount, but whatever. The clothes themselves could have been a little cleaner (there's one stain on the dress that no one's been able to really touch yet, but oh well). This last time, I brought in two silk blouses, one with the seams busted, so it needed to be fixed. They said ok, and promised everything would be ready in about four days. I come in seven days later, and they can't find my clothes. Of course I assume the worst (someone else took them in mistake), but as it turns out someone threw them in a random basket and they hadn't been touched since I brought them in a week earlier. Ugh. I just took them back and brought them to another local cleaner, who inspected the one blouse and noticed other damage Ogden's people hadn't noticed, and who offered to call and tell me how much the alteration would cost before they actually did it. I went to another dry cleaners for years that was i was happy with but one day my brother had me pick up his dry cleaning at Ogdens so i decided to leave some of my things off to be altered and cleaned. Why not give them a try since he loves them. They were friendly, quick and my garments came out perfect. And I'm talking vintage Chanel jackets being altered to fit my small frame, tapering my jeans, and a wedding dress to be changed into a black tie dress. I had an emergency dry cleaning this past weekend, when I was getting dressed for a wedding and realized that somehow black marks got all over my bridesmaid dress. I tried using water and tide pens, and nothing worked. I went to Ogden's to ask for help and see what they could do. The women was so helpful. There wasn't enough time to dry clean, but she was able to spot clean within a couple hours...my dress came back PERFECT. Ogden's was so helpful and a saved the day for my bridesmaid dress. Finally found a home after several years in Malibu for dry cleaning. The gentleman I often see and work with at the front has unparalleled customer service. Very clear with communication and has always helped me with last minute cleaning before work trips. I've never been let down and feel comfortable taking all fabrics here. They lost my merchandise and refused to accept responsibility for doing so, and did nothing to compensate me for THEIR having lost it nor the inconvenience it caused me. I give them 5 stars because they are always very nice when I come in and my clothes are always ready. We prefer to avoid putting our clothes in plastic and using garment bags and they have no problem with it and have never forgotten. I even had an issue with my credit card one day and they allowed me to take the clothes and just pay next time. Thumbs up. read more
