First and last time ever using them. I dropped off clothing that smelled like smoke from the Franklin fire because their sign said "50% off smoke damage cleaning." When I dropped off, they assured me the discount would be applied when I picked up. The woman at the counter even acknowledged that they really smelled like smoke. I picked up today and they refused to honor the discount. They could have had a lifelong customer from me but we will just continue to use Ogden's down the street. read more

My mother in law bought me a 200$ pair of jeans cause she knew I wouldn't buy jeans that expensive.Such a treat right? I'm a short lady and needed them altered so I took them here. I explained the length I wanted them at and she cut a whole section off that she wasn't supposed to. I talked to a guy there named Jimmy and he said if I come in I will get a check refund from the lady. 2 days later I come in and she says I'll have to make a insurance claim to get a refund. Then she shows me she sewed the cut off part back on. She ruined my jeans! She gave me 80$ credit like I'm gonna come back here after lies and ruined jeans.There's also a young girl in their with serious attitude so unprofessional. I met Mr. Tae Won "Jimmy" Cho in August of 2019. I had a special request of him. He looked me in the eyes and promised that he would do a good job. Mr. Cho did not honor our agreement. He caused me thousands of dollars of personal damage, and continues to cause me damage. When I contacted Mr. Tae Won Cho to see if he would correct the problem, he called me a "fucken [sic] thief" and threatened to cause personal harm to me financially. I hired an attorney to sue Mr. Cho for the damage he caused me. Mr. Cho's behavior is despicable. I sincerely hope, Mr. Jimmy Cho, that you take accountability for your behavior and make things right. It is not too late, but if you continue down this path I will pursue you for the entire amount of damage that you caused me. read more

I rarely need to use any sort of cleaner, but I made sure to try this one as it is very local. Let me say, for a first timer, this place wowed me. I got my clothes cleaned at a very fast pace, but best of all, at an amazing price. I also had an alteration done by the Helen who did an outstanding job. I was honestly very surprised! BEWARE DONT NOT COME HERE! Unless you want whatever you brought to be cleaned to not only be totally destroyed but for you to have to fit the bill for their destruction. I brought in a brand new silk blouse that needed general clean. Bare in mind it was a $1400 blouse I was very particular to take care. When I collected it I was presented with a brand new HUGE stain front and center that did not exist when I brought it in. I was horrified. I then had the lady working there (must be family Run as it's the mother/grandma) scream at ME telling me it wasn't her fault. I had her go nuts in me when I did not recognize this stain. Can you imagine. I'm 1000000% percent sure more sure than anything I have ever been about that I brought it this $1400 blouse completely STAIN FREE. I'm also 1 million percent sure that it could ONLY have happened after I dropped it off at this dry cleaner. I'm further more shocked at the immediate aggression towards me as though guilty and then the total lack of remorse and then presenting me with the bill. I paid it. Walked out gracefully. But I can tell you this. This place is garbage and so are these people. They are not honest or trustworthy and it's especially sad that this is a family business. Never come here again. Very, very poor customer service. Not a reflection of the Malibu community. Let me start off by saying, the people who work here are nice. My family and I have had quite a few things dry cleaned, and have never had a problem with the dry cleaning itself. As far as tailoring... it's hard to find a good tailor. I took a chance and brought some vintage jeans to get reworked here and they turned out pretty great. A couple seams were ever so slightly off, but nothing to write home about. A got a shirt tailored and same thing - one seam was slightly off, but over all I was happy with the work. Just last week I brought two more pairs of jeans in to get taken in at the waist. I was scheduled to pick up Friday. I came Friday, on my way out of town, and was told that my jeans weren't ready. The older lady there (who possibly owns the place?) told me to come back, but I reminded her that I needed them Friday because I was going out of town. She said sorry, but didn't offer any other consolation. Fast forward to Monday and they STILL weren't ready. At that point, I calmly mentioned the seams being off on my other pieces and told her I had to pick them up Tuesday (today) and would appreciate a small discount. She didn't apologize or even look at me, just turned away with my stuff. Today, Tuesday, I finally pick up my jeans and a shirt that I got dry cleaned. She announced the full price and I mentioned the fact that the jeans were late twice over - she said "No one works Sunday!!" and literally looked at me like I was crazy. I felt so weird trying to haggle with her over one small consolation, but I persisted. Eventually, in a huff, she gave me $5 off my $60 tab. For the amount of money I - and my family - has spent (hundreds and hundreds of dollars), this kind of attitude is just unacceptable to me. Feeling sad and angry my dry cleaner Spic'N'Span just ruined one of my favorite jackets, and they totally denied it, and they even said that my maid probably did it and turned it in so they could have the blame. In all that time only 1 pair of pants were lost and after a lot of apologies they asked me how much they cost ($150) and offered the same amount in free cleaning. SCAM! Shady as it gets. Been going here because it's the only cleaner I knew of in the area for many years. They have done really bad sewing jobs on a number of things and also lost an item of mine in the past, so now I limit their service to just washing. I gave them an old blanket and a jacket to wash. They called me and said the blanket was too delicate and they didn't want to risk washing it (this is an item they've washed many times before). I was upset about this, and found out there was a much better cleaner near by called Ogden, so I explained that if they wouldn't do it I would be coming to pick up my entire order and taking it elsewhere. When I showed up to get it, the son who I talked to was not there. Only the mother. She tried to force me to pay for the jacket and said they "washed it anyway" because they figured I wanted them to. The son finally showed up and recounted our conversation entirely differently than it has actually happened (I have a witness who was in the car and heard my conversation with him on blue tooth. He refused to acknowledge our conversation. I was very calm. The mother and son became very aggressive and confrontational. I called the police because they refused to give me my clothing unless I paid for cleaning (after I told them not to clean it if they weren't willing to clean the blanket). The police came and advised them to give me my property back. They still refused! So the police recommended I take them to civil court, which I will. It was absolutely crazy. I kept my cool the entire time and then the son started making up stories to the police - saying I said the F word to his mother (which is so far from the truth it infuriated me) and that I accused her of not being able to speak English!! As far as I can tell, she can speak great English! I would never, ever say something like that but they were clearly willing to make up stories to the police officer to make me look bad. It was so awful. The way they were behaving made me frightened to give them my CC info. They weren't behaving like a business. They were behaving like sleazy hucksters. I've written very few yelp reviews in my life but I want to make sure the people here know to stay away from this horrendous place. read more

I am SO upset as I'm writing this. For my birthday party I bought a 1950s party dress at an upscale vintage store and was so excited to wear it. I paid over two hundred dollars for a dress that was not only amazing in quality but in its preservation, zero rips and tears. I took the dress to Malibu Spic n Span to have it steamed and lightly spot cleaned (the chiffon was a little creased and there were two small stains on the bodice). Helen suggested that the dress would be better dry cleaned, to which I told her no (It's over 60 years old) but kept pressing me, insisting that it would be gorgeous and fine. I had my mother pick it up from the dry cleaner and when I opened the bag I was horrified. The entire dress was ripped to shreds and ruined. The tears can not be sewn (chiffon) and the material can't be replaced as its vintage and one of a kind. My mother took it in to get our money back and not only did Helen deny that she would ever suggest such a thing, she then yelled at my mother and lied that it was ripped when we first brought it in! They refused to fix anything or give me my money back, and now I'm two days before my party with no dress and no money to get another one. I am absolutely devastated. i took in pants to get altered. they did an AWFUL JOB. instead of removing fabric and sewing it, they removed fabric and STAPLED IT. i cut my thumb so many times and a belt loop broke. this is ridiculous for the price i paid. read more

Horrible experience. Had them clean an area rug. They said they would give me a price quote before cleaning it, but didn't. Paid 150 Dollars, then got it back exactly as stained as before. There are not enough amazing things to say about Spic 'N Span Dry Cleaners!! They did such an amazing job cleaning and preserving my wedding dress. I will forever be loyal to them! They got every little spot out of my beautiful 2 piece sheath style wedding dress. This was no small feat since it was a beach wedding in Jamaica and there was so much dirt from the sand along the train. They took such great care making sure there were no odors in the dress, no spots and they even made sure the intricate beading was handled delicately. My dress looks brand new! They even have these fabulous preservation boxes that store your wedding dress in a way that you can view it in all of its splendor but nothing will be able to penetrate the box to destroy it. It is a gorgeous gold display box with a huge window. They even beautifully laid my dress inside the box and fanned out the train so it looked like flower petals or small waves of beading and satin. I highly recommend this dry cleaner if you need anything from everyday shirts and pants cleaned to having your wedding dress preserved and brought back to its original glory. They are miracle workers and so friendly! Their tailoring is the best I have found too!! This cleaners is very, very bad news. I took a really expensive and sentimental hat into the place. I got it from Europe years ago. Just needed it cleaned and sewn. The lady said she could do it without damaging or shrinking the hat. When I went to pick it up, the hat that used to be big wouldn't even fit on my head! It's like a child's hat now. When I complained the lady said I was wrong and that I was imagining it. Can you believe that?! This isn't the first time my clothing has been damaged at spic n span. I kept giving them more chances but no longer. Not only are they incompetent but they are also very, very rude and unprofessional. This happened months ago but it has been angering ever since - every time I try to put that hat on. It was a kangol style "flat cap", not uncommon but this was a special one to me. This cleaners is located behind the Ralph's shopping center near Malibu rd and Webb. There is an older lady who seems to be in charge and then some younger guys. I know exactly which place this is and I know I've been there. Many times. The business owner is now writing private messages demanding physical evidence of my visit and trying to convince we that I got the wrong place. read more

I went into the store in Malibu with 8 items to be cleaned, the order was promised for Friday morning, when I called to make sure the order was ready, her son said no it wasn't. I then received a call from the son saying that 1 hem came loose, and should they fix it. I said sure. Never realizing that they would take it upon themselves to repair 4 hems, without my permission. I never saw any hems that were loose. The bill $511. Needless, to say I will see them in small claims court. read more

While this is one of the most EXPENSIVE dry cleaners I have experienced I choose to use it after a bad experience at another dry cleaners that destroyed some new suede pants. After today, I WILL NEVER go back to this horrible place. Not only are they outrageously expensive they lost my sweater and claimed that it was not there. After the older Asian woman called me a liar I insisted on looking for my sweater myself. Well wouldnt you know it! After a 25 minute search I FOUND IT on a rack with clothes that had not been cleaned nor mended. Needless to say, I lost it! I understand people make mistakes, but I do not respond well to being that I was wrong when I knew I was right. After all that, I still paid $125 for 10 pieces of clothes. They didnt even offer a discount for the way they treated me. I highly encourage given the other reviews of this place to try someplace else. read more
