Food is relatively good. Service can be improved, adequate but not attentive. Comfortable environment.

Interesting location to have an Indian restaurant as it's all Chinese restaurant in that area, but I digress. It's definitely a welcoming addition to the area. I got two lunch combos and split it with my friend. We got the Aloo Gobhi and Butter Chicken combos. Both came with rice, chick peas and a naan. I'm a huge fan of Indian cuisine because of all the spices and flavour they use and this is no exception. Both dishes were seasoned extremely well and tasted amazing. The butter chicken sauce was rich and creamy. The naan was fluffy and soft. The Aloo Gobhi was also great. It had a slight kick to it to bring out the flavour. I'll definitely be back.

I tried some of their classics and fusion dishes, which gave me a different perspective on Indian cuisine. Some of my favorites were the "Everything But the Bagel" Naan, Butter Chicken and Fish Tacos. They also have refreshing drinks, and I love the Mango and Pistacchio shake. Their butter chicken sauce was so popular that they sold them in big containers. They ran out when we visited. Inquire about their catering and delivery for all your event needs!

We had the appetizer platter, the tandoori platter, the masala dosa, beef rogan josh, and fish madras. You order rice and naan separately, so we ordered one rice and two naan for four people. I can't recommend the appetizer platter and tandoori platter enough!! You get so much for the price and get to try a bit of everything. The appetizer platter came loaded with various fried goodies. I loved the freshly made samosas. The tandoori platter was the highlight of the meal for me as each type of meat was cooked so well, full of their distinct flavors but still moist and tender. It came in a sizzling smoking hot to the table and we devoured it. The two curries were also delicious, but were overshadowed by my love of the tandoori.

Based on a recent visit at lunchtime on a weekend, they are more popular for takeout orders than for sit down dining. I ordered butter chicken and garlic naan. Both were very good. The portion sizes were large enough to fill me up and take home leftovers. They provided a container for the butter chicken and aluminum foil for the naan as well as a paper bag. I can't complain about the service. Our server greeted us at the door, showed us to our table and took our order in a timely fashion. He was able to answer our questions about the menu too. The interior is clean and nicely decorated. There's plenty of parking near the entrance.

The…read moredecor was very nice and clean, which set good expectations, but other aspects fell a bit short. Prices were on the high end, and the menu wasn't the easiest to navigate--especially if you're not familiar with Indian cuisine like me. For instance, I ordered the Aloo Parantha expecting it to be similar to samosas filling, but it turned out to be spicier than anticipated. Food wise, both the mango lassi and samosas were good, but very pricey for what it is. I didn't enjoy the paneer, but I believe that's more a personal preference than a flaw in preparation. The lamb roganjosh came with more meat than I expected, which was great, and the lamb itself was tender--but the curry felt like it was missing something flavor-wise. I've never had this dish elsewhere, but it just didn't seem to live up to the description from the menu. One thing that really bugged me: several of us ordered garlic naans and we expected them to be served separately since they were ordered separately. Instead, they combined multiple orders into two plates, which made it a bit inconvenient since the half of the orders were placed at the other end of the table. It's a minor thing, but with a restaurant positioned as fine cuisine, individual plating would have been better. In summary, it wasn't a bad meal, but it didn't really stand out either--and for the price, I expected a bit more.

I had the pleasure of going here for a family dinner, and I'm really glad we chose this place to eat! Dum Pukht is beautiful decorated with a dark ambiance inside. Lots of seating available, would suggest making a reservation ahead of time to ensure you get seated immediately upon arrival as it can be quite busy. The staff were also super kind and explained all the dishes while also providing alternatives too! We ordered several items off the menu because there was a huge selection to choose from! We started with the Crispy Cheese Balls (9/10 Absolutely delicious and crispy), Tibetian Momo's (7/10 was a little too spicy for my liking), and the Chaat (6/10 on the sweeter end but still good). For the main dishes we ordered some Garlic Naan (10/10 probably one of the best naan's ever), Paneer Tikka Masala (9/10 creamy and delicious), Chicken Vindaloo (8/10 spicy and very flavourful) and lastly the Dum Vegetable Biryani (7/10 a lot of vegetables inside). Overall was such a pleasant experience, also their portion sizes are huge so you really don't need to order a lot if you are coming as a small group. I would highly recommend you come check out Dum Pukht in Markham! 9/10 Recommend!

Upon arriving, the first thing I notice is how dark the restaurant is. Tbh, I think a little too dark for my liking. Food took a looong time to come out but redeemed itself with it's taste and quality! Here's what we got for a party of 4: Chat Papri 5/5 - I might be bias cause I love chat. These were little pockets of crispy wafers topped with chickpeas, diced potatoes and yogurt sauce. It came with 2 sauces to pour into the chat which were mint and tamarind sauce. Loved this! It was a flavour burst in your mouth! Butter Chicken 5/5 - Chicken breast marinated overnight with yogurt and spices. Loved the cream butter tomatoey sauce and paired perfectly with the garlic naan. Can't wait to have this again. Dum-Phukht Biryani 4/5 - This came beautifully presented and opened table side. Thought there was a lot of chicken in there which was nice! Rogan Josh 5/5 - This was hearty and delicious with the lamb. Slow simmered in a rich spiced gravy sauce. Definitely would get this again! Flavourful and spicy. Mixed grill 5/5 - Thought this was a nice mix of meats to share with the table. Came on a grilled platter. Overall, great dining experience and food was fantastic. Only complaints was the waiting time and the super dark interior. Definitely worth a try and will be back for more Indian eats!

They offer a number of different options for roti, dosa and other Indian snacks and options. I walked up to the counter a couple minutes after ordering and they said my order was supposed to be for 6:30 and it was only around 6:10 but they got it to me promptly, I only waited around 5 minutes. The people working there were friendly although my experience with the service was very limited. The place is super cool looking, almost reminds me of a subway or Quiznos so super casual but brightly painted, modern and fun. Now for the food! I ordered a butter chicken roti on the regular roti with mild spice level, I also got a side of Raita. The meal came with some amazing freebies, a gulab jamun and some crispy chip puffs! I loved these small touches. The butter chicken roti was massive and amazing. The sauce was rich but not overly so, bursting with flavour and spice (but not spicy), and the large chunks of chicken were moist and plentiful. This was quite possibly the best butter chicken I've ever had! The roti was also good, chewy and a perfect vessel for the saucy butter chicken. I ate about 3/4 of it and was totally beyond stuffed. I think a person with a regular or smaller appetite could share this with another person. I kept eating even though I was stuffed and still couldn't finish it. The free chips and gulab jamun were also super tasty! Overall this spot is awesome for tasty Indian treats. I'm super excited to try other items, from roti to dosa, I have a feeling this will be a regular spot for me!
