It looks like a one room studio apartment. It smells and is dirty full of hair. Due to my allergies I would have to go home and take a shower immediately after picking my dogs up and wipe them down before coming in my house. The parking lots is full of holes and it is on a busy street in a bad part of town. Chelse would make my appointment at the end of the day so my dogs didn't get stressed out from all the noise and close contact to other dogs. I am so happy she left that place and I never have to go back in there again!!!!

The first issue was we had asked for a Teddy Bear cut, she did not give us the time of day from the start. She quickly rushed through and took our pup from us without asking questions or checking his coat. After I left I felt uneasy so i texted her and said we brushed him out before we brought him, however if he is too tangled please let us know and we will pick him up" - her response was "I already shaved him." We understand that it happens and dogs, especially with really loose curls are hard to comb out without causing the dog pain. However communication is the issue here, she should have called us and spoke to us to discuss the situation. Our pup is like our child, i'm sure all dog owners feel that way, you can't just make decisions without consulting us. We called to see if our pup was ready, the lady who answered told us "don't call anymore just text the groomer." We felt like all this place wanted to do was just get us in and out take our money, with NO COMMUNICATION or attention to our situation. You are a customer service place, if you wanted us to text the groomer, the groomer should have spent a few extra minutes explaining how this business runs when we came. After all that, I wasn't going to write a review. However yesterday I had to give my dog a bath - he doesn't love baths but he is not difficult or scared. He was absolutely TERRIFIED, he went to the back of the tub, shaking and crying. This has never happened before, and we get him groomed often at our normal groomers. When we picked him up they told us "he is such a good dog, so well behaved." But we are so concerned now with what goes on in the back after my dog reacted like that. To the business - your staff is seriously lacking in the communication department to the customer, as well as being empathetic. You're a customer facing business, that deals with our family pets. Before your groomers just run back with our dogs, you should have them spend 5/10 mins examining the dog, especially if they have a coat like our Goldendoodle. It is so upsetting to hear news through a text, or people tell you to not call anymore only text. We are leaving our pup in your hands for hours and hope that they are treated the same way we treat them at home.

This review is so long overdue it's not even funny. I cannot tell you how many places I have called…read morebetween Buffalo and Cleveland looking for a groomer that does hand stripping. (If your dog has a wire coat, i.e. many terriers, you are not supposed to cut it because it ruins the coat's protective qualities by making it soft.) I thought I had found a place in Cleveland but I'm pretty sure that they just cut his fur. The first time I went to Kennel Club Grooming, the girl there said to me that she could certainly strip Stout for me but that since he was a puppy still, and since stripping is a form of bonding, it was much better for her to show me how to do it so that I could use it as a way of establishing a pack-bond with Stout. Really? You are going to show me how to do what I was going to pay you to do so that I don't have to pay you to do it? That's certainly a customer friendly business model! Now that Stout is a little older, I don't mind taking him in once in a while to have him cleaned up a bit since stripping is a time consuming process. Most recently, after 5 hours of work myself, I brought Stout in for a nail trim and to get the sensitive area that you don't strip shaved (i.e. belly). Stout is super shy around people but did okay going into the building and standing next to the counter. Then the owner, "Uncle" Henry, just scooped Stout right up before Stout had a chance to decide to be afraid in a way that is exactly what you need to do with Stout to make him feel comfortable even if he doesn't think he wants to. Every time I go into KCG I'm always so impressed at how Henry and his staff interact with Stout. It's incredibly clear the Henry is knowledgeable about a variety of breeds and the personalities and quirks of those breeds. It wasn't a busy day so when I picked Stout up we had a great talk about some of Stout's personality quirks about me trying to get used to the terrier personality (vs. the four toy poodles I grew up with). Overall, I can't say enough nice things about KCG. Two notes of warning: (1) in the past I've always had prompt return phone calls but this time it took 2-3 weeks of me calling before I got someone - I'm pretty sure my voicemail message just slipped through the cracks. No big deal, it happens. My point is just that this place is awesome, so if for some odd reason you don't hear back, definitely call again. Also, try to call when they're open: Wed-Saturday 8AM until they finish for that day. (2) The shop is on Chandler Street off of Military and when you first turn onto the street you're kind of like, ok, where are all the businesses? KCG has a big sign perpendicular to the building and there are signs for the Antique Shop next to them. The big double doors are for the Antique Shop; the single door to the right is for KCG. There's lots of parking. In conclusion, the shop is clean, the owner is awesome, the prices are reasonable, the grooming is high quality, and, if you're looking for a great place to bring your dog, the answer is Kennel Club Grooming. Stout is picky, especially if you are cutting his nails, but even he is happy to go see his Uncle Henry!

My dog was probably treated the same, I would expect a warm blow dryer. My pups cut was choppy and the paws were not cleaned up very well. I used to drive, drop off, wait 6 hours then drive to pick up my prior dogs. 1.5 hours of driving. They were in a crate for most of that time. Changing to mobile pet grooming has made an all day ordeal a quick hour. I have never received more compliments- my dog looks great! While he hates the blow dryer he loves the groomer so it works out. Mobile grooming takes all the stress out of grooming! I do spend more but the convenience outweighs the additional cost. I spend about 30 dollars more but gain an entire day along with a beautifully groomed puppy! Thanks Kacie!

I really like this facility. I have a very shy little pup that can be a handful when his anxiety…read morepeaks and I'm hesitant to bring to new places. Not that I don't want to, I'm just afraid that he'll become reactive. I reached out Chris and explained the situation, that a new dog owner I've had him in classes, worked on socializing him and tried bringing him around people but sometimes I feel like he needs to experience things without using me and my husband as a crutch. He has to learn to adapt and adjust. Chris was great and cautiously welcomed my little guy. It's been tough but everyone has a lot of patience for my little buddy and they see that he's improving. We're trying to bring him to daycare once a week but we're limited to a few days. So far, it's been a great experience and we see some major improvement. The facility is clean and well taken care of. The staff is great and super patient. I'm very appreciative of everyone I've come across.
