Our Coton De Tulear had her 2nd grooming session at Oh You Dirty Dog today. We provide photos of what we want Maddie's hair to be cut like on her face, ears, mustache and top of head. There are several positive comments to share. 1. Maddie seems happy to go in and is happy when we pick her up. (YES!!) 2. The groomer is very nice. 3. Price is ok at $60 CASH. The negative is both cuts now, Maddie's head is just cut way to short. It is not even from side to side and the mustache is completely cut off in spite of being told they understood what she should look like. Yes, it will grow back. Yes, we love her no matter her hair cut. BUT -- not what we asked for or how a puppy cut looks on a Coton De Tulear. Conundrum: We have a place that our pup likes yet her haircuts are horrible. I would give this place less than zero stars if I could! I brought my dog here for the first time after moving to the Williamsville area from Tonawanda. I received a phone call 30 mins after dropping him off to say that he had a hole in one of his back legs that was bleeding, which apparently they noticed when they were busy starting to shower him before shaving. When I went to pick him up, they had already shaved half of his chest and one front leg and looked like they were probably working around his body shaving off the worst of his mats. They insisted they'd done nothing and that he arrived like that, but he was definitely not injured, bleeding or partially shaved when we dropped him off! There was fresh snow on the ground and if he had been bleeding profusely when he arrived as they claim, that would have been very noticeable, neither was there any blood in my car where he'd been sitting, and that's because they're a bunch of liars. I went directly from this place to my vets office at Brighton-Eggert Animal Clinic in Tonawanda, and it turns out that it was a blood filled cyst that appeared to have been cut open with a cutting tool. I was also informed that std groomers protocol is to shave off mats prior to showering as the water makes getting matting out worse. The folks at Oh! You dirty dog kept hold of my dog until I paid the $70.68 they charged for not providing a grooming service. I would have expected them to have waived all charges since they did nothing other than hack my dog. They were very clearly lying about injuring my dog and only seemed concerned about getting paid for a service they hadn't actually provided. I would never return to this place if it was the last grooming service on the planet, and would warn other dog owners about how they behave if they hurt your pet! They are completely untrustworthy and dishonorable. It is the lying and their clear attempt to avoid taking responsibility for hurting my dog that upset me the most. If they had explained what had happened truthfully then I would have a different opinion about them, but the direct lying to my face is not something I can accept or abide. Their whole approach was rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. Do not take your dog to this place if you value your pet's well-being. You have been warned! Extremely disappointed with these people in every way. Absolutely disgusting. All in all I ended up forking out $350! $70.68 for a grooming that was never done, and the rest for sutures, anesthetic, antibiotics and pain medication for the harm done to him while here! Thankfully my dog will be ok after a minor surgery, but it's obviously with no thanks to these dishonest people! I thope they go out of business so they don't harm any other people's beloved animals! Remington does not spend time outdoors other than when going to the bathroom or while going on walks. He most definitely had no burrs as you repeatedly described. That is total BS! He does get a lot of matting primarily because he licks himself a lot when left alone while we're out at work. His injury was from a blood filled cyst that had been cut open, not from a scabbed over previous injury as you describe. The fact that 4 out of the 10 current reviews of your business are 1 star reviews is very telling. As is the manner of your response to each of those reviews. I only wish I'd have checked Yelp before phoning to make an appointment then I'd never have done so. Clearly there's a history of causing injury to dogs at your business, or is everyone just making things up? You can make up whatever story you like after the fact, it doesn't change the truth. I stand by my review 100% as an accurate reflection of the actual events, which I felt compelled to write in order to warn other people about. In response to your nonsense about charging for service provided, do you think that the $70.68 you charged was warranted for a half shaved chest, and a couple of hacked paws? After discovering what really had happened to cause him injury, there was no way on Earth I'd ever entrust any animal to your care again. Remington has since recovered and has received an excellent grooming at Bubbles Pet Salon & Spa in Williamsville, the whole experience of which was like a night and day difference compared with the experience at your facility. Your attempts to try to portray yourselves as caring animal people is inconsistent with the rude, adversarial, approach I experienced first hand. Remington is indeed a sweet affectionate dog with a mild temperament. That part is true. Most everything else you wrote is like reading a short story from the fiction section of your local library. For dog grooming, Oh You Dirty Dog! is as good as it gets. We followed Amanda from her former place of employment to Oh You Dirty Dog! because she does a wonderful job. It was Amanda who discovered while grooming our Bichon something unusual on the skin of his head and neck, it seemed "baggy." She knew of another dog with that condition and believed it indicated dementia. She was exactly correct. Our dear dog lived with doggie dementia another two years, and Amanda groomed him right up until the end, caring for him regardless of his quirks and age. Our other dog was also groomed by Amanda for years, sensitive to the elderly dog and her needs. When she died, Amanda sent a card, just like when our other dog passed away. We introduced our rescued Maltese to Amanda two years ago and this little dog with fear aggression went RIGHT to the dog-whisperer, Amanda! She does an excellent job. Finally, we adopted a standard poodle who is Amanda's newest customer from our household. Patricia, the owner of Oh You Dirty Dog!, is always accommodating, friendly and polite, a great business owner and a great addition to the Village. All prices are reasonable and competitive. For dog bathing, there are a couple of do-it-yourself dog washing stations, should the desire to bathe your own dog appeal to you. They're clean, organized and handy with a ramp to get Fido up to the faucet. All the stuff you need to get the job done is provided. I give Oh You Dirty Dog! and Amanda two paws up! I was recommended by many friends and family to bring my dog here when we adopted her. I have to say this is the ONLY place i trust to take her to get groomed. They do a phenomenal job every single time. My dog has high anxiety and shakes about going anywhere, but they treat her very well and do an awesome job! Even though their rates have gone up since we first started taking her there it is worth every penny to know she is treated with care and comes out looking great! read more

The last two times (I'm in front right now) I've visited 'Oh You Dirty Dog' I've checked and it says they're open on the internet but, upon arrival, the door is locked. My appointment was canceled two times , for my Inconvenience they offered to groom my dog for 50% off, which I thought was very generous so I decided to schedule a third appointment. My Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is 6yrs old and is very calm while being groomed despite that the groomer cut the back of her leg,I discovered it that night although it was a minor scrape a mistake I am sure as an owner I should have been informed about the injury. My dog was also at the groomer for 5 1/2 hours that day and her shave was very choppy. I did not think the salon was very clean and I did not have a very personal experience. The grooming would have cost 60$ but with the 50% discount it was 30$.We will not be returning read more

I cannot express enough how happy I am with my dog's grooming at Oh You Dirty Dog. Trish is a class act and called me back immediately to schedule an appointment for my Mini Goldendoodle, Dodge. I haven't been able to find a groomer in the area that would handle Dodge because he has so much anxiety about getting groomed. I was turned away countless times until I found Oh You Dirty Dog. Michelle and Hailey did an absolutely wonderful job on him. They did the grooming so fast and he looks so adorable. I will continue to bring Dodge to Oh You Dirty Dog. Yes they provide a facility that allows dogs to walk in a tub so not only can the pet owner save his/her back but also you don't have the mess to clean up. However, what the owner of the shop does NOT realize is what's needed for large breed / furry pets. I own a Bernese Mtn girl who likes the shop enough [will lay down in the tub after washing and fall asleep]. They provide WATER downed shampoo that barely lathers -- not a wen type believe you me -- and the dryer barely gets my girl dried. It normally is a great bonding time with my girl and I --- but to have the owner give comments how I've spent more than the normal allotted 1/2 hour drying time ... pardon me but its not like having a small shih tzu or a lab / boxer type coat. Will find another place that is more pleasant and doesn't give such negative vibes. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I'm disgusted by the business they are running here. I recently brought my sisters dog in to be groomed here and I will never go back or recommend this place to anyone. The hair cut was absolutely horrific, that's something that I could have looked past however when I picked up the dog (6 hours after drop off I should add) the groomer looked and sounded high as a kite, she was stumbling over her own words and couldn't walk straight if her life depended on it. When I dropped off the owner even looked like she was on something but I brushed it off. No wonder the groom looked terrible! Be careful bringing your dogs here people it worries me that next time someone's dog might not just get a bad haircut but could be seriously injured. read more

I had been going there for 3 years and loved it. They underwent a significant change in groomers recently. I took my maltipoo for a grooming . I got there before he was ready and was waiting in the car for my phone call that he was done. A woman went in with her dog and after about 10 minutes, I decided to see if my dog was ready. I walked in to find both groomers on the floor playing with the dog that had just come in. My dog was in the back room unattended for at least 10 minutes. I called the owner after I left paying for service and telling the "assistant manager" as she falsly labeled herself how unhappy I was! . I called the owner who told me they would never leave a dog on the table, but I heard NO crate opening will my dog was crying. I am not going to argue the point as I didn't go in the back to check. However, I did speak to the woman who walked in while let I was in the car. She asked me for a recommendation and told me when she had seen both of the groomers outside smoking at the same time a few minutes earlier. The owner asked me if I would come back one more time at no charge to try to win me back. I told her that I would. She said she would check her best groomers schedule and call me. That was 2 1/2 weeks ago and. I haven't heard from her. I won't be going back! read more

We have taken our dog here for grooming for over 2 years, and we had been pretty happy. Until our last appointment. I asked for the same type of cut we always get, explaining (since the groomer doing the intake was new) that we do not want the typical Mini Schnauzer cut - especially the long Schnauzer beard - but just to "take what she has now and trim it up." I also asked that they be careful and gentle around her mouth as she recently had a dental surgery and several extractions. When I picked my dog up, she was unrecognizable - her face and muzzle had essentially been shaved. Obviously, I was really upset and the groomer (who had groomed our dog before) said "the other groomer told me you said you wanted something different this time." Which is exactly the opposite of what I actually said. I asked the owner for a refund and she refused except for $10 of the $54 cut because "they already did the work." Yeah - terrible work! She was super rude and argued with me that this was essentially what I asked for, which is absurd - especially since we have taken the dog there several times and never asked for (and never got) anything close to the horrible cut we got this time. BUT THAT'S NOT THE WORST PART. Later on, after we got the dog home, we noticed that she had a wound on her belly. We took her to the emergency vet (as it was after office hours on Saturday) and they said it was likely that she got clipped/shaved too close during her grooming. So, we dropped big $$ at the emergency vet, and additional $$ on Neosporin and some items to keep her from licking the wound (cone and t-shirt). My poor baby is now suffering with a cone that she HATES and a nasty looking wound (not to mention the worst haircut I have ever seen on a dog) and has to take antibiotics for 10 days. read more

We have been coming here for years and use the Self Serve dog wash and nail trimming service. Inexpensive and worth not having to clean up at home. The owner is very friendly. We will continue to take our dog here. read more
