George, who I take it is the owner, is a wonderful guide, talking with you about the art and answering any questions you may have. There is even an artists' studio in the front window where you sometimes may be lucky enough to watch a live demonstration of glasswork. Totally worth the stop.

You can watch the glass craftsman through the window blowing heat on glass and crafting a new Hawaii inspired decorative art piece, beautifully made and magically designed, most sitting on polished driftwood pieces. The price are reasonable, and there are even some discount pieces made by apprentice glass blowers. Most of the glass creations are local creatures, like turtles, dolphins, sea horses, etc., although they had some nice Dragons and other pieces as well. They are all beautiful. The pressure to sell is pretty high, as two girls are right on top of you for service, but they are not pushy. They pack it up real good for you if you are taking it home for a souvenir, and they even say if you break it, you don't own it. I saw some…read moreTiktoks a few years ago of tufting class and was sad that we didn't have anything like that here. So when I was looking for activities, I was so excited to see this class show up! We had to reschedule one time but they were super understanding and I was easily able to reschedule on the Airbnb app! The owner Chiara, was super friendly and welcoming when we arrived! She went through all the steps and safety to ensure our experience was seamless. We brought our own designs and got them approved by her but she also has examples you can use as inspiration too. If you bring your own design, for first timers I recommend something simple with simple lines and colors so you don't feel too rushed. You also have to draw your own design on the canvas but done worry too much if you're not confident in your drawing skills. The process is very forgiving so it'll still turn out good even if you don't draw your design perfectly! We had so much fun and loved how our pieces turned out! I highly recommend booking a tufting class here to anyone!

This little hidden gem is on a corner, so parking is somewhat of a challenge to find but, they do have a parking lot on Liliha St, a little small but, if you're patient, you can find parking since they share a parking lot with a cafe next door (hot tip: get there a little early, stop by the cafe next door, get yourself a sweet treat and then go shopping) which is exactly what my friend and I did this morning! Upon walking in, we were immediately greeted by Val and her sister, and felt like we were raiding our sister's bead/craft closet! They have such a large section of beads, lei beads, ribbons, decals, and beading supplies amongst other things. My friend and I arrived at 10:40 this morning, and omg, didn't leave until 12:45! You can honestly spend all day in there easily! We had such a blast in there, and everyone was so helpful, especially because my friend and I had an idea of what we wanted to do but didn't know exactly what we needed! I'm not going to lie, I got a total of 20 decals, BUT they're not all for me, and they're going to be used for presents! Another hot tip: if you feel like you get overwhelmed easily, come to the store with a few bead/lei projects in mind already and look for what you need. I came here without a plan, and I got a lot of the stuff I was looking for, but realized that I need to sit down and organize my thoughts for what I want to make and for whom, so I can plan accordingly for my next visit! We had the pleasure of meeting (JORDAN), one of the artists who works at the gallery. He was incredibly kind and generous with his time, walking us through the store and sharing the stories behind some of the pieces. When we asked to see his own artwork, we were blown away. Jordan has an incredible talent for capturing the beauty of the east side of the island-the lush greens, deep blues, and the feeling you get when you're out on a hike surrounded by nature. As someone who spends a lot of time exploring those places, his work really spoke to me. You can feel the connection to the land in every piece. What impressed me even more is how young he is. His level of skill and vision is remarkable, and it's exciting to think about where his artistic journey will take him in the future. We were lucky enough to purchase a few of his pieces for an amazing price and I truly feel grateful to have them in my home. It's actually a nice souvenir store that has some odd items like a wooden chop stick holder that holds 4 pairs of chopsticks I think. The staff here are helpful and friendly. The Koa wood jewelry caught my eye and they had good clearance on some of the Koa wood jewekry pieces. I ended up hauling few earrings, koa bangle with matching ring. I did find the earrings that I originally was searching for in stock in the store. The staff carefully wrapped all pieces individually with tissue paper which I thought was a kind gesture. This store had adorable Hawaiian themed women Christmas ornaments that I was eyeing but the price was a little steep. It's truly a nice ornament though. If someone has an issue with living in a condo with close neighbors and projects to maintain and update a property that was built starting in 1979 then this is not the place. A single-family home may be a better choice. The negative reviews are old and appear to be from tenants who do not have the financial investment an owner has to maintain the property and increase property values.

Molten glass comes from sand. I was fascinated by the flame. The woman in the window formed fine lines and curves from a blob of molten glass with fire. I speculated on what form the glass would take. A dolphin I think... It's nice seeing art being made. I remember when I was a kid seeing artists painting at the park, the beach, or the bay. At Seaworld I thrilled at seeing divers searching for pearls at the bottom of the sandy pool. Nowadays food is the only thing I get to watch being made... There are many beautiful things in this place. I brought home a glass dolphin created by the woman in the window. The dolphin was clear, cold, smooth, with sweeping curves in contrast to the Manzanita stand which was dark, warm, and held rich details. All the artworks were made by local artists. I was inspired walking about seeing the paintings and sculptures. Perhaps one day the images in my mind will manifest into something beautiful...

I was so appreciative that she took the time to talk to us because I feel so often at galleries like families with small children are seen as inconveniences. It's unfortunate because art and creativity should be accessible to people of all ages! Anyway, we browsed the different pieces and I settled on a $20 print of a painting of an unconventionally beautiful Hawaiian woman holding a mango in her hands while standing beneath a mango tree. I would definitely encourage folks to check out this gallery with their diverse art work by local and international artists, accommodating staff, and cool laid-back vibe.
