The doctor was friendly and gave good advice on how to handle my situation. My problem was with the fee: I was charged $305, of which insurance (OSU HP) paid $118. I have to pay $187 for a visit (no tests or procedures). This seems excessive. I emailed them about this, and they didn't have any explanation of the charges other than that visits to specialists were more expensive than primary care. I am going to ask more questions about price etc. next time I get a referral.

I'm going to have to go through that prep again. I had movi prep and if you chill it and hold your breath it is tolerable. But bring your charger into the bathroom because you will be there for a couple of hours. I liked all the reminders I got. You slightly modify your diet the week before and then the day before you are on a liquid diet, broth, apple juice and banana popsicles. Then the day of your procedure you drink more of that prep. It's doable. I held my breath. The facility itself is staffed with friendly, competent people. But not having a smaller scope is a bummer especially since the hospital they want to send me to may drop my insurance after the first of the year. And who wants to do another prep anyway. Actually 2 more preps on top of the one I had, if the colonography shows something. Why can't these things be coordinated!

Scheduling was very pleasant, friendly and easy. I start receiving text messages with URLs. I am unlike most people who don't live and breathe looking at my phone 24 hours a day. I would rather complete questionnaires on my computer on a larger screen. I called back and asked can they please cease sending me text messages and to send me emails only. Scheduling advised they were selecting an "opt out" so that I no longer receive text messages. Despite them doing that, I STILL received text messages with these links. I NEVER received one email with the same information. So none of those links were completed. The day of my colonoscopy I went to the office, check-in was fine. Going back to the bed, asking me all the prerequisite questions was fine. All the nurses were very nice, pleasant, friendly, helpful. I go into the room for the colonoscopy and they partially sedate me. NO ONE bothered to ask me if I was partially sedated with my previous colonscopies (I was not). They begin the procedure and it is PAINFUL and I am moaning and yelling, the entire time. THIS, I did not appreciate. After it was over there was NO apology forthcoming from the doctor -- Seth Hoffman or the nurse who was there. This is a good lesson for me, in the future whenever I receive a colonscopy I will make sure that I am fully sedated. The post-op nurses may not have heard my moaning and yelling either. So I will not complain that they didn't offer an apology either. That was pretty much the worst colonoscopy that I have ever had in my life.

I have not gone for my follow up yet but I am quite confident that the quality and professionalism will continue. I waited to the end to mention that the girl that checked me in the lobby was polite but I was not real impressed with her. Their care, their warmth--almost to a bubbly nature, and their confident inspiring professionalism has compelled me to write this review when I hadn't plan to. I came to have a screening a very private, unmentionable, part of my body. . . oh might as well admit it--I came for a probe of my anal cavity and the areas beyond. Yes I came for a butt probe. I am 50-now and it is time for me to get bootie probed every five year--especially since colon cancer runs in my family. **public service announcement** Cue the bright colored TV peacock and chimes--dune, dooo, dune-- if your older than 45 please get your butt probe every five years; colon cancer is easily treatable if you nail it early. Everyone here from the receptionist, to the pre-op nurses, to the anesthesiologist, to the surgeon, to the post op team, to the people who called to check up on me days later were super friendly, kind, had a professional gravitas that made any anxiety about the procedure evaporate. Before hand they reiterated the purpose of the scan, thoroughly reviewed every the RXs I was on, and described what was about to happened. Afterwards, they contact my driver ( you have to have one) to relay what they found and what action to take and not take. This was a great relief; it was my first colonoscopy so I didn't know what to expect. (Naively, I didn't realize I would be in a surgical grown. Good thing, for I realized to late I was in a Pink Floyd shirt and imaged the surgical team joking "Now we are about to explore the dark side of the moon!") I love this place. Highly recommended. Was scheduled for a surgery. was asked for my medical info which I provided. Was asked to prepay…read more$1200 and I did. Two days before surgery I called as nobody had told me when to show up. I was told they would call me the day before surgery and tell me when to arrive. The day before surgery I waited until 4:20 pm for a call and it never came. So I called at 4:20pm to ask because their hours said they closed at 4:30pm. They were already closed for the day. So I called my surgeons office to say I wasn't showing up the next day because I had not been given a time. They then told me the surgery had been cancelled and would have to be done at the hospital. It is now 2 days later, my surgery is tomorrow and the hospital wants me to prepay but Dublin Surgical has not refunded what I advance paid them for a service they failed to perform. Would you want surgery at a facility that was this incompetent at simple administration? I wouldn't.

I have been going to this office since 2007, when I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. I sort of have a love/hate relationship with this office, and here's why... My mom works for Doctors West, and has for quite some time. I know people here, and I like the facilities and the different departments that I've come in contact with over the years, i.e. the lab for blood work, the endoscopy/colonoscopy team, the CT/MRI group, etc. Coming here is comfortable and easy for me. That being said, while the assistants in the office all seem friendly, I frequently have to call multiple times to get any task accomplished. I feel like If i didn't have a medical professional in my family, I would be completely lost. You really have to advocate and push for yourself to get anything done. I recently went up to Cleveland Clinic for a second opinion, and was annoyed how difficult it was to retrieve my medical files. Every time I need to make an appointment I have to schedule it several months into the future, as they seem to be swamped. This has definitely become worse since they became a part of OhioHealth, as I believe they are handling too many patients. Several times I have felt that my doctor doesn't do much for me. I had a horrible flare up last winter, and I still had to wait 6 weeks to get an appointment, while I was feeling totally awful and just trying to go day-by-day. I will give him credit that he was up-front with me about his skills, and that if we are unable to get my illness under control that I will have to go to a more highly trained specialist at another facility. Mostly, I just kind of dread my appointments, as I feel like I wait for 45+ minutes to see a doctor who spends 5 minutes reviewing my chart and then I'm pushed out the door. It's really difficult to get into a new office with a new doctor, as many are not accepting new patients-- I feel like I'm stuck. If you are referred here by your primary physician, ask around to see if you know anyone who has had a great experience with their gastro, and go there instead.

Initially, I was told they could not provide a referral because I had not been seen within the past year. After I left a review expressing my concerns, they changed their position and agreed to send a referral--but only for an office visit, not for the colonoscopy that had been recommended. The inconsistency is what makes this so frustrating. Ohio Gastro Group stated they could not refer me for a colonoscopy because I had not been seen recently enough, yet they were more than willing to schedule that same colonoscopy at their own facility without requiring an office visit first. If I am medically appropriate for the procedure in Ohio, why am I suddenly not appropriate for a referral to have the exact same procedure performed near my new home? My grandfather died from colon cancer, so timely screening is important to me. By refusing to provide a proper referral, I am now facing a 3-6 month wait to establish care with a new gastroenterologist in Colorado before I can even schedule the procedure. Meanwhile, I could have had the colonoscopy completed within days if I traveled back to Ohio and paid their office. The entire situation gave the impression that generating additional office visits and revenue was being prioritized over continuity of care and patient convenience. I expected better coordination and support from a medical practice when relocating out of state, especially for a procedure they themselves recommended.

After multiple test and x-rays he determined that it had to be from the LINX implant that I had put in about 16 years ago. Sure enough that was the cause of the pain. After healing up from the surgery to remove the LINX I have been pain free. I'm thankful he didn't give up after ruling out other potential causes.
