They commented that if someone lives in Puerto Rico, they should speak Spanish, and questioned why people speak English if they already know Spanish. These remarks were made while I was standing there and appeared to be directed at me. I found their comments unprofessional, disrespectful, and inappropriate for customer service employees. Customers should feel welcome and treated with courtesy regardless of whether they choose to communicate in English or Spanish. Puerto Rico is a bilingual community, and no customer should feel judged or mocked for the language they use. I hope management addresses this issue and reminds employees to treat all customers with respect and professionalism.
