I almost never leave reviews, but this experience was bad enough that I felt compelled to write one. At around 3:30 PM, my girlfriend and I walked in because the door was open and there were no visible hours posted. We politely asked if the restaurant was open, only to be met with mocking comments and laughter from the staff. If the restaurant was closed, that's completely fine, but treating potential customers with open disrespect is not. Based on that interaction alone, we immediately left and took our business elsewhere. First impressions matter, and this was one of the most unwelcoming customer service experiences I've had while traveling. If you don't want customers walking in, post your hours clearly and keep the door closed. There are plenty of restaurants in Florence that know how to treat people with basic courtesy. They had a lot of seating inside and out of the heat- that was key for us on a hot June day in Florence. Our server was nice and the food came out relatively quickly. The salad was meh- could have been chopped more with extra veggies and unique dressing. My daughter said it was the worst burger she has ever had (yes, yes, I chastised her for ordering a burger in Italy). My husband was disappointed with the carpaccio- it wasn't as flavorful as it should be. But the pizza was AWESOME. If you go to this restaurant- get the pizza and some beer/wine. You will be happy for an air conditioned break and some good pizza. read more

Not sure why this place had some low reviews, but my wife and I really enjoyed Oinos while on vacation in Florence, Italy. We looked for a place for an early lunch that was just a little off the beaten path from the square by Basilica Santa Croce, and stumbled upon this beautiful place on the corner of the street with its columns and covered street seating. We sat on the outside of course, and it was great to look out into the streets of Florence. The staff doesn't speak much English, but Google translate can help with that! We split a pizza called "Salsiccia", which had mozzarella, tomato sauce, and Italian sausage(legit Italian sausage). Surprisingly, for the portion size it was only 8 Euros! The sausage was very different from what we think of as Italian sausage in America, but it was very good! I also asked for a recommendation of a glass of wine and they told us to try the Chianti Classico. Very good. My only complaint is it seemed like the staff was a bit annoyed with us not being able to speak much Italian, but I think they appreciated that we were trying. We may come back here when we plan our next trip. It was a good experience. read more

Walk by this place while looking for a lunch place and it looked really cool from the outside, mentioned it to the wife and off we went. Walked in and was pleasantly greeted and welcomed in further. The atmosphere is very nice and the wait staff was super nice. I started looking on yelp when we sat down and read some reviews and started to get worried. I don't understand the low reviews this place was great, the prices were great, the food was good and super nice staff. My kids had a pizza which was good, I got the tortelloni al tartufu which was so much better than the truffle noodles I paid almost twice as much for the other night. Now my wife got the calzone and wow this thing was massive and tasted so amazing. The picture does not do it justice. I was hoping it was going to be too much and I was going to need to finish for her but all I got was a small piece. She also orders the Chianti Classico which was super good as well. Again my wife ordered and all I got was a taste lol, should have just ordered a glass for myself, maybe next time. read more

Worst food we've had in Italy, middle America has better Italian food than this place. We got a bland salad that was made with bagged lettuce and terrible tomatoes and an under cooked pizza with "prosciutto" than was really just generic ham at best. So disappointed! read more

This place is located on a nice Italian intersection and offers a great view if seated outdoors. The waitstaff was kind and receptive, something we unfortunately did not always experience while in Florence. The food itself was good, but could use some extra seasoning. read more

I was really not impressed with any of the food here. I had a plate of bruschetta and the tomato wasn't even ripe. It didn't even taste like bruschetta; more like sliced tomatoes with a drizzle of olive oil. By far the worst bruschetta I've had in Italy. Then I had the ravioli with ragu... completely unimpressive. It tasted like ragu out of a jar. Yes it filled my need for food, but that's about it. I would not recommend it otherwise. Stumbled upon this place after spending 3 hours in the Uffizi. Our minds and feet needed a break and this seemed like a great spot. The prices are very reasonable and the pizza is very good. I got the Cinghiale di umido (braised wild boar) and the melanzane alla griglia. I woke up in the night feeling sick and, sure enough, had to stay in the next day because of food poisoning. Can I do zero stars? It took nearly 25 mins for the waiter come and take our drink order. BUT we gave it the benefit of the doubt. From the time we ordered until when we got our food - it took 1hr 20 mins. That's an unacceptable turn around time for food even by Italian service standards. No dig on Italians there, I love their style of service done properly, slow and respectful. However, this was on another level. My spinach w garlic and olive oil was still frozen and without seasoning. The Tagliata w Rucolo tasted rancid. The pappardelle pasta tasted like it had been in the refrigerator too long and had dried out, not to mention the whole pepper corns... The beef tartare was seasoned beef paste. Finally, tagliata porchini had no porchinis whatsoever, just canned mushrooms. Would not suggest. Avoid at all cost. read more

We stayed on the same block as this restaurant while visiting Florence and it was not only the worst restaurant we are at while in all of Italy, it may just be the worst I've eaten at ever. We ordered caprese salads, an Italian standard, and were served flavorless mozzarella, mealy tomatoes, and the worst of the worst...dried basil flakes out of a shaker. When I asked for fresh basil the waiter informed us they were out. This awful salad was served in top of shredded lettuce and cabbage from a bag. The wine was bad, the pizza was average. It was an awful dining experience and of wee weren't so tired and hungry we would have walked out. So disappointing. read more

Absolutely fantastic place. Excellent food at a reasonable price, with some great outdoor seating. The buffalo mozzarella pizza is absolutely incredible, and would be first on my list of food recommendations for Florence (absolutely worth the extra euros for the genuine buffalo mozzarella). The service was fantastic as well. I visited Florence for a week, and went out to dinner only twice versus getting groceries. Oinos was good enough to come back for the second time. read more

This restaurant made an impression upon us. It is one of our favorite restaurants in the world! Their lasagna bolongese is the best we have had. It is 8 years later and we are using google maps to find it because we loved the food so much. It is the only restaurant throughout traveling the world that we ordered multiple entrees because we could not choose our favorite. We have been to Florence 2 times since our first visit and we know this place like finding home! The food is outrageous and deserves only 5 stars! Anything less is inaccurate. This is incredibly terrible pasta. I mean impressively bad. I've had kraft macaroni and cheese that is more flavorful and better cooked. Pasta is clearly from a box, overcooked past the point of being edible. Sauce was embarrassing for an amateur American cook, much less a restaurant in Florence. Terrible.
