This place is the picture I painted in my mind of an Italian restaurant in Italy. Beautiful, dark, warm, moody but inviting atmosphere. We shared several items. First was the Pasta fresca al tartufo (fresh homemade pasta with seasonal white truffle), buratta and tomato salad, serviced as is without adornment or seasoning. Next, the Polpo, patate al limone e curcuma (Octopus with potatoes and Greek yogurt sauce), which was fantastic. Not the usual, very subtle spices, lightly grilled, and I wasn't sure when I read it on the menu, but the acid of the yogurt, surprisingly delicious. Our final dinner selection was Pappardelle all'uovo fatte in casa, ragù di chianina al ginepro (Fresh homemade pasta Pappardelle with juniper Chianina beef ragout), the pasta was perfectly al denté, the sauce rich but not heavy for a ragout. We ended the night with two wonderful desserts, the hazelnut crème brûlée, and the other was a delicious Chantilly crème something, I can't recall the name, but I could eat it every day. Don't miss this one, it was an experience.

Is an high end restaurant if you like the Tuscany famous steak. This restaurant has two part. One is the mid range food is affordable to many like pizza. The other part is the steak restaurant with nice seating and decoration. The only thing we here is for - Florentine Steak. This their pride and proud for the menu. Many come here for that. They may sale other cut. But this cut is the best. I could have give them five stars but they did not cut the steak in front of me. That deduct one star due to experience of the restaurant. They cut the steak for every table except ours. The steak is well cook and marinate. We also have the truffle pasta with meat sauce. It is delicious to have the food here. Love the food here. Service is attentive that make the difference in the compare to other restaurant.

BEST PIZZA I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. A bold statement I know, but it's true. This review is for the pizzeria section ONLY. We did not visit the restaurant section. We sat outside on the patio and indulged in two mind-blowing wood fired pizzas. My husband and I were in Florence for our honeymoon and our AirBnB host suggested this place for pizza. It did not disappoint. We shared the Norcina and the house favorite, Torcicoda. We were in awe of the flavors. We didn't know pizza could taste this good!!! Great prices, service was attentive and it's on a side street of a piazza so you don't have to deal with annoying tourists watching you eat. I will undoubtedly come back here if I'm ever in Florence.

Ravioli in white pork sauce was so delicious!

Wow - best dinner we had in Florence! We wanted pizza and steak so we sat on the patio which allowed us to order from both menus. 4 of us shared 2 pizzas, a steak and sides. The margherita pizzas - one with ham - were perfect. The bisteca florentina was amazing. Charred and flavorful - so good. The roasted potatoes memorable. Great wine, coffee, desert - everything top notch. And our server was so nice and helpful. She spoke some English and made excellent suggestions. Worth seeking out -this place is special! Update. Went back next night and had pasta and more pizza! Great again. Especially the ravioli with white pork sauce.

Ahhh this place was amazinnggg.. we were a party of 7, seated in a private's room in the back. Erion was our server and he was magnificent. He helped us choose every single course and every recommendation was spectacular. Thank you for a fabulous meal for our last night in Florence.

I recently had dinner at Torcicoda which I had heard mixed reviews from. Some friends told me that it was overpriced and not special and others told me that they loved it, top pick. Obviously the truth normally is somewhere in the middle but I really did enjoy my meal there but it didn't get five stars for a reason. The ambiance is quite impressive, big enough for groups, they have different sections, including a fancier restaurant (where we were) and a pizzeria serving artisan beer which my friends have told me is really good. I appreciated the welcome prosecco and taste from the kitchen, a wonderful marinated tuna carpaccio with pomegranate. It's little details like that which make a dinner out into an experience. I ordered the antipasto of foie gras mouse, like a mille-foglie with an apple compost which was quite simply excellent. We went for the bistecca della fiorentina (a big ass steak) which comes in three different formulas, we chose the middle-priced version. The wine we chose was a morellino di scansano riserva which I also have to say, was spot on. But we chose it, not the waiter, since his suggestion cost 130 euros and I am not kidding. In fact my only issue with what have been an otherwise perfect experience was that they really tried the 'upsale' here. I mean I get it, probably their management advises them too, but I guess I have been spoiled in Florence with waiters always suggested something more reasonably priced, not always the most expensive option. I get that the pricey steak (like kobe) was massaged for 40 hours or whatever but unless it was going to be a 'good lay' I knew we could spent about 50 euros and still eat something excellent. Overall, I liked it, I would go again but I would suggest that they work on that 'hey we assume everyone is rolling in money' approach ;-)

Tasty stake comes with salad, appetizers,,potato wages & desert. Ambiance feels like being in Chicago in 1930's which is a nice touch.

Am I the only one that thought steak florentine was supposed to be served this way? Maybe that's was my mistake but I thought that's how it was prepared in Florence. Anyways, I was immediately suspicious when our waitress asked how we would like our steak cooked and her suggestions were medium or medium well. Uhhhh what? That goes against everything I believe in! The steak came out on a hot stone slab on top of a wooden box. The slab obviously continued to cook the steak so I immediately took off a few pieces to prevent this. The steak was thick and tender with chunks of large salt grains. It looked nice all sliced up but that's where the compliments end. It lacked flavor and ended up cooking to be more medium rare when I grabbed my pieces and then even medium by the time my dad grabbed his second slice. Our waitress seemed annoyed when we asked for the truffle sauce to accompany our steak (my dad forgot to ask for it when we placed our original order) and walked away with a huff to go grab it. The fries came out cold and limp with flavorless truffle shavings on top. I'm not sure why this place has such great reviews. Maybe it got too big for its britches and the quality has declined? The one saving grace was the crema bruciata! And the very understanding hostess who gladly pushed our reservation from 7:30 to 8:00pm due to travel difficulties. Whatever the reason, this place definitely missed the mark. You can't walk three steps without seeing a steakhouse here in Florence. My recommendation? Try one of those.

Let me start off by saying WOW one of the best steaks I've ever had and that's say a whole lot…read more Very small yet open and inviting restaurant. We were browsing the menu outside when the owner was nice enough to invite us in. We ordered wine and got complementary appetizers which consisted of some meat and bread with olive oil and balsamic. We browsed the menu and couldn't decide on what to get because unlike other steak houses this one had many many other cuts to choose from but we settled on the infamous BISTECCA ALLA FIORENTINA. After we ordered it took about Roughly 15-20 minutes before our perfect piece of meat came out. The meat was tender and juicy and so perfectly seasoned. Every single piece of meat was meat in your mouth worthy. Even though the piece we got was huge it was sooo good my sister and I finished it no problem. We were even tempted to take the bone home and chew on it but that wouldn't be lady like... Service was good. Wasn't very many people dining when we were there but regardless they were very attentive and I would definitely be back.

We were let down by our first attempt in Florence when the meat was tough and mostly flavorless. After much research, he decided we were going to The Cut. We luckily scored reservations via thefork, one day in advance. We started off being served complimentary prosecco and a grilled mortadella amuse buche. We ordered the carpaccio chianina, grilled ember vegetables, and their daily special, an Argentinian beef (10 year old dairy cow that had been aged 60+ days). We asked if we should order any toppings or sauces, and the answer was no - neither was needed (as the flavor of the steak should stand out on its own). I appreciate that. Unfortunately, they ran out of the carpaccio chianina, so the owner comped us a chianina tartar so we could try the infamous chianina. Very tender yet robust flavor, especially with the salt. The steak (medium rare), cooked perfectly and very tender, but I can't say it was amaze-balls. Also, both this and the chianina only came in rib eye (not full T-bone), but that meant we could order 1 kg instead of the 1.2 kg minimum. That was good since between the two of us, we could not even polish off the 1 kg. The grilled ember vegetables were delicious! Too bad there just weren't that many of them. The owner apologized and told us they were on the house, since his shipment did not come in due to the holiday on Monday. We are from out of town, so honestly we wouldn't have know the difference if that was a normal or sparse portion. That was nice of him. Service was A+. Attentive, knowledgeable and so hospitable. Reservations are a must! This is a small restaurant and many parties were turned away during the duration of our meal there only.
