Oishi Japanese Express was fast and really good! The service was great as well! We called it in and it only took about 15 minutes. When we went in to pick it up, the employees were so kind! The price was a little high, but it was worth it! :)

    This is the dining area

This is¸ without exception¸ the most incredible thing I have ever seen in a restaurant. I felt like I was on the movie set of 'Contagion'. Nothing drives a customer away like this! We had to put our money into a box and slide it through a VERY small window with a flap on it. When we sat at a table to wait for our food . . . We had to clean it off with OUR OWN WIPES! They slide your food into the box on the right side of the window and close the door on their side of the box and then you open the door on your side of the box to retrieve it. I was waiting for Allen Funt to show up. We just wanted a nice place to sit down and eat some good food. It wasn't nice¸ we didn't want to sit down¸ the tables are filthy! How was the food? The shrimp and scallops was . . . skimpy. The salmon was dry and the rice was extremely bland. We ordered clear soup . . . It was dark brown¸ almost black and extremely salty. We threw it out at the hotel. I rated this restaurant as one star only because I have to give them at least one star. The service is aweful¸ the food is aweful¸ the facility is aweful. I wouldn't recommend this place to someone I hate and I wouldn't go back there on a bet. I have had the pleasure of eating at some very nice restaurants and eating some great food. I have also been to some very bad restaurants with aweful food or service¸ sometimes both. This is the absolute worst experience I have ever had in a dining facility of any kind¸ including the military dining facilities I have eaten in. Treating a customer like this should be a criminal offense. If this restaurant is still in business in six months it will only be because it's customer base has set an extremely low bar.

Great sushi for price. Great place for takeout, call in or order online. Call in orders are usually ready in about 15 minutes. Nothing fancy about the restaurant itself. It's just your ordinary average American sushi restaurant.

BENTO BOX!! Love a good BENTO box for lunch at the office. Very friendly staff and overall good food. They have amazing sushi rolls and tempura. The fried rice I will say is pretty bland and the clear soup taste very salty and almost like they made it with beef broth. Decent prices if you're on a budget.

Absolutely love their Tornado Roll and Hibachi selection! It looks like a whole in the wall but definitely a place to stop in and enjoy. Quick & friendly service and to go orders come out quick as well.

They haven't been open long... and won't be open much longer unless they make some changes. There was a line at the counter to order and the girl taking orders had NO CLUE what she was doing. The management should NOT have let her be the person making initial contact with customers. Rude and condescending. While we were placing our order, she stopped taking our order to take a phone order... then had us start over again because she had deleted our order. And she seemed mad at us, like it was our fault she deleted the order. Perhaps the reason she was grumpy was the lack of air conditioning. Opening a restaurant on the hottest day of the year with no a/c would make anyone grumpy... including the customers who were tired of waiting to order and receive their food. While we were at our table waiting for our food, we noticed that some tabled were given numbers and others were not. We didn't have a number... but our food came out quickly. Other tables (with numbers) got the wrong food. One party that was seated when we walked in hadn't received their food by the time we were eating. When they asked why, they were told the cashier had "saved their order, but not pressed the button to send it to the kitchen." WOW! They have some serious organization issues to address. One person in our party ordered Shrimp & Chicken Hibachi, the other ordered the Fried Rice with everything. Both dishes were large and filling, but the flavor was bland. Shrimp and chicken tasted the same... and were both overcooked. Ont he plus side, everything was much cheaper than the other Japanese places in town. I guess you get what you pay for. We didn't try the sushi, but the sushi chefs looked very busy and the sushi that was served to other table looked very good. The sushi prices were similar to the other Japanese restaurants in town. The best thing we had was the "Japanese Sprite." It's served in a fun little bottle and it worth trying once. Entertaining and pretty tasty. Hopefully they will address the A/C and organization issues. We will go back and see if thing improve in the coming months.

After taking a minute to look over the menu, I decided to go with the AYCE Hotpot dinner. I ordered spicy soup with squid, crab stick, lamb, sirloin, bamboo shoot, bok choy, enoki mushrooms and ramen noodles. It was a lot of food, but I was starving and I ate most of it. They do charge for food waste so be mindful of that. Overall, it was very good and a nice experience. Price is reasonable. I will most definitely be back. Maybe I'll try the BBQ next time.

But…read moreclearly that is just a line given because the hostess didn't even remain at the desk- she went to the bar and sat down and was drinking her drink and staying on her phone. We saw a few tables exit and how would she even know if no one is hosting the stand? She literally had her back to everything. We felt trapped as 15, 20, 30, 45 minutes went by. After an hour we were finally seated. It was that horrible experience of not knowing if we should leave or if we had already invested so much time, surely we would be the next person called? I wish the hostess would've told the truth about the wait. It was only after patrons that came in behind us started to rightfully become upset, suddenly there was a host of people at the stand and tables were getting cleared. After an hour, we were finally seated in the very back of the restaurant and it took another 5 to 7 minutes before someone came over and acknowledged us. The salad bar area where you can make your sauce was missing half of the ingredients and absolutely no attempts were being made to refill the station. Items were left off of our order and we had to ask for them to be brought out. Saw a lot of employees standing around on their phones behind the salad bar station near the bathrooms in the kitchen. There are now far too many AYCE Korean/ Asian BBQ/ hotpot areas in Memphis to go back to a place with bad service and low quality food experiences. We used to proudly bring our out of town friends and family to try this dining experience- but would be too embarrassed to bring them now.

I was leaving the gym today and decided to stop by! Located in the Wedgewood Commons shopping plaza, there is shared parking with the other businesses. If ordering custom poke or ramen, there's a little form you fill out. The forms are located right next to the big menu board. Lots of options to choose from. There's also a pretty good sized drink menu as well. I went with a custom ramen bowl and a brown sugar milk tea with tapioca. The ramen was very flavorful and filling. The milk tea was also so good!! I'm not sure why they felt the driver couldn't wait another 5 seconds for my order to be finished since he had been standing there for 10 minutes. Anyway, I made the 25 minute drive home. Got all relaxed and ready to eat only to find the order was wrong! I paid for 2 proteins and I only got 1. I requested 1/2 sushi rice, 1/2 spring mix and had no spring mix. I was not given a receipt so I can't even prove what I paid for. It was just a frustrating experience. It's now in the fridge for my son to eat later. There's no way I will eat all of that rice.

Well...I guess I was proven wrong. So I dropped my trailer off at Amazon MEM1, input the coordinates onto my Tractor GPS, and my Garmin 800 rejected the request...."Commercial Truck Restrictions All the way." And what did I do? I said f*ckit. I'm taking that risk. Probably the best Risk Reward experience I've had in ages. Every inch of my route towards this Ramen Pilgrimage was plagued by Traffic Signs reading, "No Semi-Trucks $1000.00 fine." And I just want to thank law enforcement between Memphis & South Haven for not busting me for craving a rich bowl of Tonkotsu delight. So what did I discover here? It was like walking into an enchanted Studio Ghibli scene. The hanging charms, the lush greenery, and lighting complimenting the earth tones, the holy sh*t they have PopCorn Chicken & Milk Tea here @@! Felt like I'm back in Taiwan with this fusion of Japanese & Taiwanese Food Culture. There wasn't even a college town nearby and this added more to my culture shock--- of all places... Mississippi. If you guys are still with me at this point, the Kyuramen x TBar in Southhaven wasn't the first location recommended to me by Yelp; I was actually planning on visiting the location in Santa Anita Mall in Arcadia California, BUT like Rayasianboy likes to quote on his live streams, "Goddid." The planets align, they sent me and my rig to South Haven. Alright not gonna ramble anymore, let me get to the verdict: Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 10/10 Food: 10/10 For a franchise, this place has QA down to the tee. Over the years I've for the majority of the time whenever I'm out of state, would patronize Jinya Ramen--been to their Denver Union Station locations, Chandler Arizona, Salt Lake City, one of the earliest times was in Vegas, and basically their brand set the tone for what a Franchise ramen could be. And yes, I could taste the lengthy hours here at Kyuramen that were put in to slow cook the richness out of the pork bones; the portions were measured just right so you can savor the soup, the noodles **al dente**, the egg silky custard like, the Chasu **melt in your mouth** and not feel overwhelmed with the entire ensemble. The karaage chicken/ Taiwanese pop-corn chicken was exploding with moisture, it had the right characteristics of popcorn chicken, crispy light with tapioca starch layered on the outside, marinated in 5 spices, and fried to perfection with the right tenderness. The tea was excellent, and the Yakitori platter---- executed surprisingly well. And when you put together the entire experience....Shin-Sen-Gumi Alhambra California needs to pick up some slack because this little joint in the middle of nowhere puts some California Izakayas to shame. So yes, I'd recommend anyone across the state of Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama, all the Japanese execs at Toyota Plant, Nissan Plant and Yuki Kawamura to come and make their pilgrimage....oh wait Yuki signed with the Chicago Bulls, nvm, but yes everyone besides Yuki. これで終わります Kore de owarimasu じゃあね Jaa ne 改天再會!
