One of my favorite Mexican restaurants ever. I went after a long day of work and wasn't expecting this. You walk in and s it's a big restaurant. We were given chips and salsa to start and we ordered the queso with it. It was a good queso. We got a chicken chimichanga and brisket tacos to share. The food came pretty fast and was it was amazing. The beans were some of the best I've ever had, a lot and so flavorful, the rice was okay. The chimichanga was out of this world just delicious and good size. The brisket tacos also tasted very good with the green sauce. It's priced a bit higher than most Mexican spots but it was worth it. Service was super slow despite multiple tables being vacant. Taking our drink order took longer than it should. Ordered the fajita nachos supreme which was literally Caldita rounds covered in cheddar and a tiny piece of fajita meat on each chip. I was expecting sour cream and guacamole and found that one tiny scoop of each was provided in a separate taco shell to me to make them myself. Was with a party of 6, and while we ate our food, it wasn't worth what they charged us. And considering the salsa recipe supposedly dates back to 1969 I expected it to be great. Came here for a work lunch meeting and it was quite good. Authentic Mexican food. Our server was attentive. The rice was a little bit dry and the beans were runny, I added salsa to the rice to give it more flavorful. I tried the combo plate #7. I had a puffy taco instead of a regular taco, it was tasty. The enchilada was also good. They have margaritas so I will definitely be back to try one. read more

This place was really tasty! My bf cousin has his baby shower here for his gf. They rented the entire space towards the back, for 2 hours. I didn't know you could do that there. The seating was U shape. Parking is easy, lots of spaces, The waiters were on it! Taking all the drink orders, the drinks came out fast. The menu had a lot of stuff on it. We chose the enchiladas, tacos, and queso. The queso was cheesey and really good. Chips perfectly salted. The chicken in the enchiladas was moist, perfectly seasoned. This is definitely my favorite Tex Mex restaurant in the Duncanville/Desoto area. The staff and managers are always friendly and helpful. Tonight I ordered pickup and was impressed with the quick service and packaging. The chicken mole and mole enchiladas are favorites. The reason this place is *extra* special is the way they treat their customers. My husband and I use to eat at this location all the time (in our opinion, it was the best location food wise). Since we were dropping our son off with grandparents around the corner, Ojedas came to mind for lunch. My husband joked how the food probably wasn't all that good anymore as it had been at least five years since we last visited. Boy was I glad he was wrong! My ten year old had chicken fajita nachos, I had beef fajita nachos and my husband had a combination dinner with enchiladas and tacos. We enjoyed every bite of our food! My son, who has a very discriminating taste, even said how good the food was. After dinner, we all had a sopapilla which was just as good as the food. After a looooonnnnngggg day, my boss wanted our management team to find a place to decompress, and she recalled that Ojeda's was a go to for her in Garland at one time. I was rather excited at the prospect, as I used to go to the one in Canton, which neighbored my hometown. Walking in the first door I was immediately hit with how loud it was. Very very loud, actually. The hostesses seated us in a booth, and we began. The server was a middle aged gentleman, and seemed to hate being there. So much so that he was very short with my boss as ahe attempted to order. Normally, I wouldn't say this is something worth remarking about, but in this particular instancel he was actively "downselling." She was trying to figure out exactly what drink to order, and he was telling her they couldn't do it. At no point did he suggest anything at all. This made me pretty uncomfortable, to be honest. That is generally not an emotion that you want your server to bring forward, particularly in a situation with your boss. The initial setup comes with 2 salsas - a "hot" and a regular. The hot is most literally the regular mixed witn Tabasco. It's not bad, it just is what it is. One really cool thing is that they have a special Lent menu. I was getting the fish tacos anyways, despite Lent, but still cool. The tortillas were extremely soggy. I couldn't even pick them up. Ultimately, though they had a good flavor, I had to use a fork to eat them. The margaritas were good, but expensive. If I return I will likely be for reasons of nostalgia, though I can see how this is a go to for some. read more

Ok- I have put off reviewing this place for quite a while. Possibly because of the fact that we have been regulars here for nearly twenty years. I wasn't sure if my fondness for their food was from a childhood connection to comfort or not. But today I realized this is truly one of our fav Mexican food places for a reason. The food is just GOOD. Very good. They really do have the best queso and the creamiest boiled beans ever. Their salsas are fresh and offered generously. I don't think we've ever had a bad meal here in two decades. The wait staff is ALWAYS sincerely welcoming and friendly. Our ever changing dietary requirements are NEVER scoffed at, which is a HUGE deal for us since we really hate asking for accommodations. We really love this place. Great people, great food. A staple for this family and our friends who frequent with us often and love it as much as we do. read more
