Came for lunch and we had the chicken green enchiladas & the shrimp tacos with Mexican rice. The enchiladas came with rice and refried beans. The beans were basic but everything else was delicious . We also ordered a ranch water and Frida's Berry Limonade, which is the best drink I've had in a while. It's made with raspberry syrup, Jim Beam Honey, fresh lime juice and sparkling water. It's definitely worth it. The only issue I had was the service was pretty meh. I hade to wave down the service for more water and a take out container. He also didn't seem to understand me when ordering. The ambiance was good we came a little early and it was quiet but it got busier during our visit. Frida's is such a vibe. From the entrance to the small accents and greenery wall- it's the cutest spot. The salsa that comes with the dip was good and had a Smokey flavor. My Chipotle Shrimp Tacos were delicious. They were sweet and spicy- my favorite combination. The tortillas were a bit thick for my liking, however. They're handmade corn tortillas but the tortilla overpowers the taco. My husband had the barria tacos and said the same. He eventually just opened the tacos and ate them without the tortillas. I saturated several napkins trying to soak up the grease in the taco shells and meat without much luck, the grease kept on coming! None of the food had much flavor. My husband and son both had chicken dishes. I read several reviews that said the chips tasted like they were from the bottom of the bag and were stale. We had the same experience. We mentioned this to the waiter who took them away and brought back a basket fresh out of the grease and were much crunchy but super greasy. The decor was bright and festive. Very cute and trendy little spot. So let's get down to the food! I ordered the barria tacos which was about $13.95 but did not include any sides with this particular meal. I give my meal about 2 stars. It was good but I wasn't overly impressed. I felt it was overpriced to not include any sides besides the soup to dip the tacos. I will say the portion size was large so there was no disappointment there. Also the location only really has beer and no actual alcoholic drinks in their menu. If you order a mix it comes with a side shot but no liquor in any of the drinks. I will say the Palmito (think I spelled wrong) was a very good drink to try. I did enjoy that drink. Also I ordered the churros for dessert and they were good, so definitely try that as a dessert if you go. They were out of flan so we couldn't try that dessert. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I may have to go back and try another menu item. Overall nice place to try out if you are in the Cedar Hill area. read more
