The technician, Dustin, thoughtfully called to let us know he was running a few minutes late, and he arrived exactly when predicted. He did a thorough inspection and magically got the oven working as it should again, without having to replace any parts. If he had been a less scrupulous and responsible professional, he could have charged us to replace a part unnecessarily. Instead, he left his contact info so we could let him know if the problem returned, with the plan to order the part then, and only then. Even though it was the end of the business day, he stayed longer to be sure the oven maintained its temperature correctly. Throughout, he was friendly and professional, a pleasure to work with. Although the business is located in Bloomington, they do calls in the Champaign-Urbana area for no extra charge. I'm putting BK Appliance Repair into my contacts now in case any other appliance issues come up.

I had a whirlpool dryer repaired and got an estimate that did not itemize three parts. I asked for that and got the run-around from the lady in the office. She said they will not order parts until I agree to pay for the repair. The only reasons I let them continue was the technician and the money I paid for diagnostics that would be deducted from the total bill. Don't be fooled! And I had to follow up myself with the office, asking whether the parts were received. She insisted I got texts and messages when I did not. When I looked up the cost of the parts on Whirlpool's own website, they were MUCH less than what I was charged. A thermostat alone was almost TRIPLE the cost. The total was just shy of 150% MORE. The difference was about $150 which COULD HAVE been charged as labor. It was not. And if that's how it works with the franchise, they charged me tax on the labor (this is speculation). My bad, and still, not cool.

We first contacted Scott because we needed a decorative garden retaining wall that we had started to be finished (we had to make a list-minute move and were mid-remodel on our home). My husband is an absolute perfectionist--he has constructed a number of these decorative retaining walls professionally over the years--so our standards were very high. Scott and his team exceeded our expectations. Not only did they install the wall perfectly, Scott even made some suggestions that ended up making the wall look even nicer than our original plan. Scott and his team took the time (and let me tell you, it took A LOT of time) to clear all of the weeds, overgrown bushes, etc. out of our existing garden beds to make way for new plants and they also took care to protect our prized Japanese Maple during the process. While digging the base for our wall, Scott and his team uncovered a number of bricks from an old garden wall that had been buried over the years. Instead of just disposing of them, Scott had the wonderful idea of repurposing the bricks to create a lovely brick walkway off of our back patio into our backyard as well as a little brick pad to place a bucket or hose on underneath our front spigot. I was absolutely thrilled that he thought to do this. I think it's also important to note that Scott did all of this work within our set budget. Scott found ways to do the most with the money we had allotted and gave us the biggest bang and best quality for our buck...actually I'd say Scott's quality of work would not waiver no matter what budget you presented him with. His name is on this business and he takes that very seriously. Since Scott and his team finished up our garden wall, we have also hired them for general yard work like lawn mowing, weeding, aerating, seeding, and leaf-raking. We'll also be working with Scott in the spring to add plants to our garden beds. Our neighbors across the street were so impressed with his work, that they've hired him as well. I hope that other neighbors follow suit. In summary, Scott is a stand-up guy with a hardworking team who is willing to work within your budget to give you the most for your money with the absolute best quality. I will continue to recommend him to any and everyone.

After the first snow of the season in December, 2025, I was charged $160 for the snow removal and they not only did a poor job removing the snow, they didn't even remove the snow from all of the sidewalk. This was the 5-6" snow storm. The snow shorty after this was not much more than a couple of inches and they charged me $135. So for two snow removals I was charged $295 for a quoted amount that should have been $200 and they did a poor job each time. I fired this company and hired someone for half the price and they did a much much better job. I absolutely do not recommend this company.

Called that company and they advised it could've cracked due to another cause (but that's another review for later) getting no help from the egress contractor, I called TCI, they were busy, but said they could get out in two days, they were courteous, accommodating, did quality work, for a reasonable price. They were on time, diagnosed the issue straight away and completed the job quickly (2 hours) I got the bill about a month later. Very reasonable!! Would highly recommend!
