I've been studying with this school for about 7 years now. The instructors are great, the camaraderie among the students is amazing, and I can attest to real health benefits of practice. I used to have a sore back every morning, but now, it doesn't matter where I sleep, I have full flexibility and no achy back in the morning! This school is also great with helping students developed confidence. I was very reluctant to compete when I first started, but the support I got from my instructors and fellow students encouraged me, and now I can say that I am an international and world champion. Something I never would have imagined, and yet here I am. The Master (surprisingly) was young, but after one trial class, my 7 year old daughter was hooked. She loved how Master Andrew made classes fun, entertaining, and filled with laughter, but also included times for serious learning accordingly. He understands if the kids are having a difficult time with certain forms, but continues to encourage them which helps give them that push to continue, rather than to quit. This dojo is also run by the most family-oriented family, whom (from what I've seen) all remembers each students and their families names. They are constantly sanitizing and keeping the place clean. Yes, even before covid hit. 4 years later, my daughter who started out as a no belt, holds a second degree black belt. My son struggles with paying attention in school, but here he loves "focusing" and learning new techniques. It's the right balance of challenge and accomplishment. The facility is nice enough, there is enough room for all the kids to spread out. Class sizes are around 12-15, which is perfect. Belt progression is not guaranteed, and belt testing is serious. Master Andrew trains his students to be competitive and many do participate in state and national competitions, but we're only white belt, so a ways to go still. If you're looking for a family-friendly, flexible, fun and competitive environment, this is the place.

So far this has not happened and that was back in October 2016. Classes are M-Th and just one from 6:15-7:15. There is a different instructor every night. Sometimes the class seems more focus on weights, yoga, Pilates, and other things than kickboxing. The room is not very big. While you are taking the class, others are either in there waiting to their classes, practicing for their class, or walking to and from the restroom. Sometimes you cannot do your own workout due to them walking by or being in the way, which is frustrating. Attempted to cancel my membership but unfortunately I'm locked in for a year. It is definitely more geared for martial arts than kickboxing.

I've practiced martial arts (Karate, Taekwondo, and Wushu) for about a total of 10 years, so i've been around several different schools and Masters and Sifus. Sifu Shannon Moore teaches traditional, practical, and sport aspects of Wing Chun. Very knowledgeable and experienced as one would know from just listening and conversing with him. Sifu Shannon Moore takes great pride in providing hands on training and development with his students as opposed to some other schools i have been to where the senior students primarily teach. You may ask... well what the heck is this Wing Chun mumbo jumbo. How is it any different from other martial art styles that also teach self-defense? Wing Chun is an amazing and beautiful kung fu style different from many of today's popular styles, such as Karate, Taekwondo, and Shaolin kung fu. While these styles may focus on blocking first and then attacking, Wing Chun teaches well-coordinated angular defense and simultaneous attack, operating on the center line, not drawing back (windup) before striking; instead striking from any position. This both increases the speed and eliminates the telegraphing of the strike. Using structure of the entire body to create power in a small space. This way, in the time it takes a student of another style to throw one or two punches, a Wing Chun student will throw at least nine. This system relies on biomechanics, not brute force and is a scientific yet theoretically based martial arts style focusing on close-range combat. Wing Chun is based on the concepts and principles of simplicity, economy of movement, and economy of energy. This art is a true internal and external system designed so you can learn the system in 3-5 years. It is a science in motion that is simple yet explosive. Bear in mind, i said learn the system in 3-5 years. Mastering is a whole other story. =) Anyone who is interested the martial arts, especially Wing Chun, should definitely come check it out. Sure, I may be able to get a little cheaper if I have my kids go to a home daycare, but the care that they get here is why I love it. They have cameras in the class so I can always check in on my little ones whenever I want and they give multiple updates a day via the daycare's app so I never feel like I'm missing much. The teachers treat my kids like their own and I truly feel like they love them. If I voice any discomfort or worry, they work with me immediately. You can tell the Director truly has a passion for this job and the kids, and she schedules fun times each season and most holidays to really make you feel like this is more than just a daycare. I watched the live stream in his classroom (toddler) ~2hrs a day and had seen 2 times a teacher caught my son's arms and forced him to sit still no matter how hard he was fighting. After got home on these 2 days, the scratches on his arms were obvious... He was only 1.5 years old and not able to tell us what's happened. We had reported to school the next day and the teacher didn't tell the truth until we told we were watching. We had reported to their district manager and child service in government. But the teacher who hurt him was still working there before we changed school. Actually not only my son, his little friends had suffered similar experiences that I saw. That teacher disciplined kids almost everyday! I doubt her profession, because kids were reading books alone just before discipline. My son was very quite at this school and he became verbal 1 month after he got into a new place. We're so grateful to our decision!
