I want to be fair and acknowledge that I am pleased with my surgical results, and I believe Dr. Brau is a skilled surgeon. However, the overall patient experience fell far below my expectations. My concerns were: * **Consultation process:** The office requires a non-refundable $100 consultation fee. Since I already had implants, I was told there was no way to accurately "try on" sizes and no 3D imaging was available. I was told the "sky was the limit" for size and that implant size would not affect the price. * **Implant size communication:** My existing implants were 400cc, and I requested 800cc. Dr. Brau said 800cc would work but explained he would not know the exact size until surgery. I left with the understanding it would likely be close to 800cc. After surgery, while in recovery, I was told my implants were actually 695cc -- a significant difference from what we had discussed. * **Unexpected pricing changes:** I was initially quoted around $7,000, then the quote increased to around $9,000 when discussing 800cc implants. I was told the increase was due to additional surgical time, despite previously being told implant size would not change the cost. * **Payment issues:** We were told the procedure could be covered through CareCredit. Immediately after surgery, while I was still in recovery, we learned the anesthesiologist did not accept CareCredit, leaving us unexpectedly responsible for an additional $700 charge on a credit card. * **Administrative issues:** The office lost my signed consent paperwork, and I had to scan and resend my own copy because they could not locate it. * **Day of surgery:** I was instructed to arrive at 6:00 a.m. for a 7:00 a.m. surgery, only to find out at check-in that my surgery had been moved to 9:00 a.m. I waited for hours after being prepped. Staff also had difficulty locating Dr. Brau before surgery, and I had to point out that he had not marked me before they took me back. * **Post-op allergic reaction:** I had what Dr. Brau described as the worst surgical glue reaction he had seen, with severe itching, hives, redness, and blistering. Although he removed some glue during follow-up visits, I later discovered there was still a significant amount remaining and had to remove it myself. * **Privacy concerns:** My rash and medical information were discussed in the waiting room where other patients could overhear. * **Unprofessional comments:** During my first post-op visit, comments were made by Dr. Brau and his assistant regarding my breasts and my husband's involvement with massages that I found inappropriate for a medical setting. * **Cleanliness concern:** At my one-month follow-up, I found someone else's blood on the exam chair and on my leg after sitting down. The staff apologized, but this was extremely concerning. I believe surgical skill is only one part of patient care. While I am happy with the cosmetic result, the communication issues, unexpected costs, lack of privacy, administrative problems, and concerns during my recovery made this an experience I would not choose to repeat.

From the beginning when I contacted his office to now my healing process has been wonderful. First I went on a cosmetic site to see who was rated the best plastic surgeon and that is how I chose Dr. GONCE. I called to get a consultant and the Krista, she was sweet. I went in and met the doctor, he was so laid back and down to earth(not arrogant like other I had met). We tried on about 10 different sizers for my enhancement..picked the best and scheduled my surgery. Then came the bug surgery day, I arrived 45 min before my surgery to try on sizers again to make sure that's what I wanted. Then the anesthesiologist came in asked questions, I walked into the surgery room and he told me he was going to let me relax(giving me a special medicine). As I laid there letting the med take over, all I remember is DR. GONCE telling me I need to think of Miami and something hot with a beach! I woke up with my new twins and I couldn't be happier, I have little tiny incisions and he placed my implants wonderfully. He is the BEST! I am happy to answer any questions for ladies that are thinking of taking the plunge.

I am 16 months post op and feel as though I was disfigured. I am traumatized by this experience…read morethat I was so hopeful for. I am now looking at other places to attempt to fix what is possible, by noninvasive routes. The staff were so nice to me and my surgeon Dr Meyers was super nice albeit maybe inexperienced. My surgery did not go well, part of my procedures was literally just forgotten to be done, my follow up was insufficient, the scarring was terrible and I am in worse condition now than before surgery. It was offered to me to have follow-up surgery to correct a few things and do what was forgotten, at a "discounted" price and I felt like that was even being pushed on me but I was not willing to have anything further surgically done. I had already spent $25,250 to be disfigured. Also, my husband was left in the waiting room with no information or calls for almost 4 hours after my 5 hour surgery, even after the front staff had left for the day and he had to go look for someone to ask what was going on. The staff is good. The doctor I had my consult with, Dr. Caplin, was scheduled to do the surgery, but unexpectedly had to go out of town. She turned me over to him. During my follow-up visits, I explained my concerns and he told me what great work he did and how wonderful it looked. He consistently told me to give it time. Months later-same thing. Year later- same thing. No change and the sagging skin is still there. Other doctors I have consulted have said they suggest I get "the previous doctor" to fix it. I will not trust him again.
