Yet Manny made sure i wasn't doing too much work in any single visit as i had debilitating TMJ last year and to much work could retrigger that TMJ. I am the type of patient who can be very functional in real life but becomes a 2-3 year old emotionally in the dentist chair. It's pretty nerve wracking, and I took almost a year off from repairing my mouth because my C-PTSD emotional responses were unpredictable and traumatizing. Paired with my difficult dental issues, it took a lot for me to go into a new dental office. However, I was referred by a very good friend who really felt like I would be treated well and would be able to feel comfortable and relax enough to get said treatment. She was right! I'm very impressed with Dr Grillo's expertise and efficiency during treatment evidenced by pain free appointments and miraculous results. I could not have been more mistaken. I walked into his office literally in tears. I was at another dentist that took my insurance, and from start to finish it became clear to me that their is in fact a HUGE difference. Instead of going on about the terrible experience at the other dentist I want to share what I saw and felt to be the biggest difference. Dr Naierman has stellar bedside manner. He is polite, and takes a few moments to speak with me before even touching my mouth. While looking in my mouth he is not "heavy handed" and is quite aware that their is a person attached to "that mouth". He is professional and caring. After looking at my X-rays it was determined that I would need additional work done. He explained what/why/how. His staff was kind and eager to help with qs and the overall happy feeling in that office, I am sure, is a direct result of the working environment and watching Dr Naierman interact so well with the people that come in. The only thing I am sorry about is that I am moving away and won't be able to use him as my regular dentist.
