Didn't have to worry about kids going too far or losing sight of them. There are a few picnic tables and bbqs that are spaced out pretty far and are first come first serve. The playground near the front of the park is for little kids but there is a basketball court and tons of grass for sport related activities. The bathrooms are located in the front as well. Another fun feature is their little hiking trail on higher ground that loops around the park. I see lots of dogs walking this trail and it's fun for kids too who want to explore a bit more.

The park offers a play structure for kids to climb and play, a grassy area for people to picnic and throw a ball around, and walk paths to meander. The facilities are clean, and the park is well maintained. There is also a basketball court and a softball field. It was nice to see children off screens, playing and happy, and families barbequing and picnicking. There are some large trees that offer shade, and a couple picnic benches. People should take more time to go to parks, relax in nature, and enjoy the peace and serenity of being outdoors. Spend some time at Two Strike Park.

The location is pretty empty as when I was hiking, I didn't see anyone else around when going pretty far into the trail, which made it peaceful and eerily quiet. There's only street parking available, so you have to hope there's some available nearby the trail or you have to park further down the street. Will for sure come back to hike this location again as it's a fairly easy hike.

Through the efforts of the Arroyos and Foothills Conservancy, this land was saved from developers and is protected for wildlife and hikers alike. (Thank goodness for conservancies!) The preserve is not open to the public at the present time but open gate hours are scheduled on the weekends. If you sign up for the email list for Friends of the Rosemont preserve (rosemontfriends@gmail.com), you'll get updates on when the preserve is open and special programs including informational hikes and work days to maintain the preserve. Because of that, I can almost always find a court. Parking is generally not an issue either, which is a big plus. The street-level area has a playground, but to be honest, it feels a bit shady. The restroom is also on this level, and from the tennis courts below, you can clearly hear toilets flushing, which is... not ideal. Downstairs, there are two tennis courts and a practice wall where you can hit against the wall or even play handball. Functionally, it serves its purpose well if you're just here to play. This is a park I would only visit during the day. While it's convenient and usually quiet, I wouldn't feel comfortable coming here at night.

I agree with the other reviews - there are homeless and druggies that hang out here...but I will…read morealso say that the park rangers have done a good job in cleaning up and taking out homeless encampments. I've also seen police cruisers go by a lot- particularly at night. It was interesting to watch, and this happened a few days before Christmas...they took a truck and drove it onto the grounds and, no warning, park workers started hauling off this homeless couple's mattress, tent, grocery carts and other belongings. The couple scrambled to grab a few things. I had definite mixed feelings about it. The park can be very quiet and pretty otherwise. There are two play areas with new equipment, a baseball field, a little skate park, tennis courts and a senior center. There's a post office and church and convalescent home right across the street. There's a picnic area with a few tables and what looks to be an old stone fireplace. There are lots of pine trees and pine cones during most of the year which brings squirrels. The larger parking lot - there are two of them- serves as a Christmas tree recycling drop off (as you'll see from my pictures). There's also a veteran's memorial out front and the July 4th parade goes right past it. Overall, a generally safe and quiet place - but stay aware of the riffraff when they appear... It's a phenomenal park, it has everything you'd ever want in a park. The basketball and tennis courts also have lights above which is nice for when it gets dark. The park has nice Mountain Views as well.

Nestled at the corner of Elmhurst Dr. and Tujunga Canyon Blvd, is a small unassuming patch of grass…read morecalled the Fehlaber-Houk Park. It is primarily a small curved pathway with a few scattered benches sitting in some green space. There are no restrooms, play areas, picnic tables, or swing sets. If you aren't bothered by the sounds of traffic along Tujuna Canyon Blvd, this petite parklet offers a nice place for solemn reflection or a picnic with you and your closest friends. You and your party will likely be the only people in the park as it's not heavily utilized. The park itself is a reminder of the earlier owners of the land the Fehlaber family. The Fehlabers were German immigrants who purchased 59 acres of land around the early 1900's and turned it into there ranch. Their large plot would eventually be parceled out and sold until only a small plot remained. In 1975, the last members of the family responsible for the land - Dr. John Houk and his sister Betty Swanson, donated it to the City of LA and part of that land would become this park in honor of the family. So shouldn't it be be called the Fehlaber-Houk-Swanson park? There is a small little plaque in the park to remind you of this.

Fehlaber-Houk Park is what's called a "pocket park." It doesn't have any play areas, no picnic…read moretables, and no parking (in fact, you have to park on the street... and given how Tujunga Canyon Blvd. gets, you may have to park on the street corner). But, for just a quick break from the rush of things, and for even a small picnic, Fehlaber-Houk Park is perfect. In all the times I've visited my uncle (who lives across the street), this park hasn't been vandalized, and it always looks inviting. That's what all parks should be about, right?
