Old Adobe has been great for my daughter. She has so much fun with her school friends and teachers everyday and looks forward to seeing them. The routine has been great for her. I love that the school is relatively small, allowing you to get to know a lot of the families. I also love the big playground where they spend a lot of time everyday. My husband and I both work fulltime so we need a preschool that doesn't take long summer breaks and extra holidays and has hours that work for working parents- OAS delivers on that as well. read more

Old Adobe School's play-based curriculum and loving dedicated teachers have been so beneficial for my daughter! This little school is special. They have different interest areas in the classroom with science, art and literature. Not to mention tons of play time. The kids are learning in leaps. They hold fun family events, fundraisers and special theme days for the kids. My child is thriving and growing. The teachers are lovely and trustworthy. My son is 2 and loves it here. He is genuinely happen to hear its a preschool day. Once he gets there its like my husband I don't exist. They have an amazing play area with lots of shade. The 2/3 room has TONS of windows and an additional fenced outdoor area. The side has tables all set up with projects for the kids, there is a train table, a reading nook, a play loft and more. We moved from San Francisco to Sonoma as my daughter turned two. I had no preconceived notions of preschools in the area and visited practically every one. As a mom I looked for a warm and loving atmosphere. As a pediatric occupational therapist it was important to me that the learning experiences be age-appropriate, multi-sensory, based in knowledge of early childhood development, and fun! I knew when I toured that this was the place. My daughter has been there over a year and I'm routinely impressed with the creativity, projects, and activities. There's lots of music, art, science and gross/fine motor play. I have confidence that my daughter is truly cared for and she has a ball. Also, the communication is great. I get photos a newsletter, and emails keeping me informed. The teachers are wonderful and they're very flexible. With a little advanced notice they can usually accommodate extra hours which is a nice perk. My daughter is thriving at Old Adobe School--I highly recommend it! read more

My 3 yr old niece loved it there, always excited to tho to school. The education and learning the youth experience is amazing. Til the day she started being bullied on, fair warming the teachers and other staff members did nothing to resolve the situation. If the bulling wasn't a problem I would give the school a better review and more stars. My niece no longer wants to go to school. read more

Both my children attended Old Adobe. My first child came in from another preschool in the Valley, and what an incredible and welcome change! Play-based, creative, fun learning; art; exceptional staff with no turnover. The younger program/classroom is fabulous and the older one is too, complete with cultural learning and ever-changing curriculum and activities. Both my kids LOVED going there everyday, and were well-prepared for Kindergarten. Flexible staff, highly educated and valuable emphasis on psycho-social health. The Director also recognized my son's speech delay at age 3 which led to early IEP intervention and a diagnosis that still serves him today at age 9. Old Adobe has become my son's home away from home for the last 2 years. He is 5 now and will be sadly leaving soon for kinder. The first thing that excited us about this school is the amazing outdoor space! The playground boarders a huge open space and views of the rolling hills of the valley. Although it is safely gated, it gives the feel of abundant environmental freedom. I know he has explored the day to the fullest when I pick him up and he has evidence of many different art projects on his clothes with twigs and leaves still clinging in his hair. That's what it's all about!!!! As working parents with other children in upper grades, life throws us twists and turns and Meg and staff were always flexible and willing to work with our crazy schedules. He has made great friends young and old here, these are wonderful fundamental blocks my son can build on moving forward and I recommend Old Adobe to any family looking for a place that offers the whole package. read more

Old Adobe School is an incredible introduction to school for children. The welcoming and warm environment helps children adjust to this new phase of their lives. The play based learning and wonderful hands on projects that the kids are exposed to really provide an environment that fosters creativity. The Pre-school classroom is such a happy loving place that my 2 year old can't wait to go and "play". The Pre-K classroom allows the children to express themselves and learn in a safe, healthy environment and fosters confidence and teaches social etiquette. I love that both classes start and end the day together; I have seen how my 2 year old has learned to play with the "big" kids and how he has learned from them how to jump with 2 feet at the same time and ride the plasma bike. My 5 year old loved to be like a big sister to the "little's" in the play area; she was a great mentor and learned valuable lessons on the responsibilities of being bigger. The staff at Old Adobe School is warm and knowledgeable; and eager to help the children navigate their way through this phase of their lives. I did a lot of research on Pre-Schools before signing my oldest up at Old Adobe, but once I walked into the school, I felt comfortable and confident that it was the right place for both of my kids. read more
