We subsequently had our line hydro-jetted by another company who provided a quote to repair a partially collapsed section of the line. The quote was high enough to warrant two other quotes, one of which was Advanced Trenchless (AT). I decided to choose AT for several reasons: first, they provided the Goldilocks quote that was not too high but not questionably low like the third quote; second, they narrowed the scope to just the collapsed part, not the whole section of crawl space behind it as the first one quoted; and lastly, I got a call from Ryan, one of the owners, who explained the unknowns and also confirmed that a permit was required, which the last quote omitted. Also, he was willing to accommodate my schedule after the holidays. As others here have noted, AT's team are true professionals. They showed up first thing in the morning, were prepared, polite and zeroed in on the exact location that needed to be addressed. I hovered some to try to understand the mysteries of outdoor plumbing, learning that work done on a past remodel was not done properly. The fix was quicker than I was expecting. Everything went smoothly, including the Central San inspection, before they closed up the space around the new pipe and cleanout, leaving everything tidy, even putting back a section of shrub that needed to be moved. Can't ask for more than that. Anyone in Lamorinda looking for quality plumbing and septic services should consider Advanced Trenchless. From the first day that owner Bruce Linscott came on site to assess options until the day when we received final approval for the completed work, the company performed in a highly efficient and professional manner. In addition to the on-site work itself, I appreciate the personal commitment to developing a series of alternative solutions despite multiple challenges posed by coordination with neighbors and city public works and building departments. Over and over again, Bruce and his crews identified problems or potential ones and resolved them without skipping a beat. For instance, Bruce recommended an expert horizontal directional drilling subcontractor to bore the 100-foot underground run from the street to the holding tank. This approach saved me thousands of dollars and eliminated the disruption of trenching and backfilling the entire length of the driveway. This contributed to the entire project coming in [wait for it] UNDER BUDGET! I just had P & R Septic Systems evaluate and repair a problem with my septic system. They found…read morethat there were roots blocking the line from the tank to the leach field and they were able to repair it quickly. They also discovered some minor damage to the outflow fitting on the septic tank and are going to repair it after I have the tank pumped. They put a cleanout on the line to the leach field too. The whole experience was easy and as enjoyable as a septic repair could be. The crew was pleasant to work with, extremely skilled and when they were done it was like it never happened. Great communication, they show up when they say they will and they seem to enjoy their profession. Highly recommended.

When they came…read morethe first time, they only pumped the septic tank and said that the individual doing the leach line cleaning was not available. A few days later, when we came home, we were surprised to see them on our property. They came unannounced and entered our property when we were not at home. They showed us pictures of roots in the leach line and told us that they tried but the leach lines couldn't be cleaned. When we asked how much to pay for this unannounced visit, they said $850. We considered this exorbitant due to the amount of work they did and that they charged for time not working but waiting, because they popped up unannounced when we were not at home. We paid anyway but don't feel good about this experience.
