Horrific experiences every time I've gone here. The ER is filthy. Care is negligent. You're better off at RWJ.

6plus hours for a result on a cat scan!!!!! We have to do better. No supervisor anyone will get me. The doctors laugh. They said they called the head of the hospital and nothing !!!!!!!!!!! How awful is this!!!!!!! Plus they will charge for the hours we are here. And for what. stay away from this place for billing reasons. i received 1 bag of iron as my dr recommended for anemia, this was not even a hospital visit. they charged me $1500 and i went 2 times not realizing the first was $1500. so i owe $3000 for 2 tiny bags of iron - 20 mins each. they will not budge even though other facilities only charge $500. never again. read more

Disgusting. The ER doctors at Old Bridge RB are okay, but the ones who wear blue do not help at all. I feel bad for the ER doctor. She probably have any authority to tell these navy-blue wearing freaks off. What does that even mean? Why are there a bunch of blue shirts but only a few red? The red ones are actually doing something and trying to help while the blue ones are just sitting on their ass. Also the other people (normal clothes) at the other desk are scrolling through instagram and do not try to help either. Care is mediocre at best, attitudes are terrible. These people are just collecting paychecks with no accountability or interest to serve the patients and local communities. Last week I went to the doctor's office. I could't park the car and escort my wife to the office because about 70% of the lot was closed with cones to accommodate the parking attendants' need. At the time I arrived there were only 3 cars parked. When I lefft with my wife it whole 7 cars parked and people could not find any parking space. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I called hospital operator, she transfer me to Security. Security told me that perking lot and parking attendants not in their competence and transfer me to patience relations. The reply was the same, we have no idea who is running the parking attendants.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] By the way, parking attendants didn' kmow who is running their group either. People come to the doctors not because they want to, they come because they have to. It is disgrace that people have to drive and drive around the parking lot to find a space. I understand that hospital representative will reply to my evaluation to call a hospital number to and they make it right. Worst place ever. Don't let the lobby deceive you. The hospital facilities themselves are run down. Hospital rooms are dim, walls are depressingly brown, and the air is stuffy. The quality of care? Only nurses were around. Never saw doctors. Not sure what the hospital actually did for my mom. My mom could have died at home with more dignity than she did at the hospital. read more

Took my husband there for breathing issues. They kept him in the hospital for two weeks. Doctors aimlessly came for rounds without diagnosing the problem. At the end of two weeks, they did X-rays and figured he had pneumonia. His condition worsened when he was home. At the end of two weeks, they took him to the ICU and started antibiotics when his Pneumonia had worsened in the two weeks he was there. Doctors who work there are not knowledgeable. They don't show up every day and keep on top of things. This hospital is a death trap. Do not go there. Only good for routine testing and MRIS.He lost his life because of their carelessness. Human life has no value. Patients are better off staying home and taking treatment. They trap you once you are in the hospital and suffocate you to death. read more

Horrible experience! I walked in with terrible jaw pain after my pain management doctor ordered me to walk into the ER. They weren't that busy at 1am and the nurse put me in a hallway bed for four hours. Come to find out the dr has been sitting at the desk in front of me for about 3 hours. Finally gets to me and asks why I came there in the first place. He said he's not a dentist when I have a history of jaw bone infections, abscess, and extreme nerve pain. Idk if the staff were having a bad night or what but I had to walk out. Only to find out when I go to Jersey shore hospital two days later that I have a staph infection and my entire face is swelled up. At least they took me serious here read more

worst emergency room you could go to.I recently went to the emergency room at raritan bay hosp. I had a splinter in my foot. I told this to the ( P.A.). THe P.A said I have an infection . I said their is still a piece of wood in there they said know there is nothing in your foot. So they did an Xray to see. But you do not need to be a doctor to know that Xrays dont show wood. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I said I need an ultra sound to see it .The pa said there is nothing in your foot I said yes there is but the P.A. said no.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] THe P.A. said it will heel in a week. Week goes by, its worse ,so I went to a foot doctor who did an ultra sound and there it was 1.6 cm size piece of wood. the hospital charged my insurance company 3200.00 and I had to pay 602.00 after insurance paid them. SO if someone came in the hospital having a heart attack they would say you have a tooth ache. EMT-ER I will be leaving multiple reviews due to the extreme differences in how we were treated. My husband had an emergency end of Jan. 2022 The EMT-Ambulance showed up immediately and was helpful, friendly and funny. A pleasant surprise. I was informed I would not be allowed in as the hospital was on "code red" due to Covid. BUT they took me to the hospital with my husband. The driver (Dan) went inside and told the nurse I would be coming in to fill out the paperwork (I'm fully vaccinated). So while they brought in my husband I gave Rebecca in the Emergency Room all the information she requested. She took my number and gave me hers. She was kind, helpful and very empathetic - sincerely empathetic! That was 4pm. 8pm I call and hear he is getting admitted now and the nurse on that floor will be calling me. Silence...... Silence..... I understand understand scary. I understand they are protecting patients and visitors. I do NOT understand the silence. The person I live most in this entire world is alone, I'm pain and scared. I deserve a call!! Next morning I call. And call. And call. I find out he is on floor 2. I call and the phone rings for 15 minutes!!!!! Finally, after my frustration is thru the roof I call down to the ER. I know he is not there. But I remember Rebecca from the night before. She cared. Maybe I would get lucky again with the ER staff. I call and I get Dolores - the nurse in the Emergency Room. I break down into sobs. Dolores is just like Rebecca. Kind, helpful and truly empathetic (I get it - I know there are days you need to fake giving a shit - but these ladies did care. You could just tell!!!). Dolores not only transfers me to the nurses desk on floor 2 - she gave me direct phone numbers and even managed to get a real person for me to talk to when she transferred me. So - my review of the Emergency Staff Nurses and how they helped me and made me feel - 5stars!!!! My husband was in so much pain and said they did all they could to help but tests were needed etc. which were done - Now for my review on thw "floor 2", the doctor, the surgeon (tbd) and how the communication is while in a "code red" will NOT be a 5star I can tell you that much. My husband is still in the hospital - I will do the review when he is out (he wants to sign himself out if that's any clue......). The doctor he has isn't "comfortable" with the opioids he has been prescribed by his doctor (he has been on opioids for over 30yrs due to A back that's so bad they don't know how he walks straight! But this doctor is uncomfortable. So in addition to his pain with the issue he's been admitted for - he is in crushing pain in his back and has a slight withdrawal happening. WTF. A doctor? The answer - he needs to see pain management. He is NOT there for pain management!!!! You want to reduce his meds a little fine A but they have been to .04 of what he should be taking. How dare anyone - especially a medical professional judge another human being for needing narcotics to manage their chronic pain. Perhaps if he were a junkie they would be kinder! I'm outraged and sickened by this world judging people with pain. Opioids are NOT always evil. They can help so many people manage pain that you & I can't even begin to understand (and I hope we never need to!). Everyone handles pain. Differently and everyone's tolerance is different - we are humans - unique. A text book does NOT do the doctoring - or does it?!? Besides this - communication is null. I don't know what's happening. This is sad and frightening and I'm praying I can help him thru this. That review will be posted when this nightmare is over. read more

Worst hospital ever. My mother was a patient who past in that hospital. They have know clue what they are doing.

I have been forced to go here because it was the closest hospital at the time for emergencies. By far the worst hospital experience one can have.. Although I've been living in this country for 28 years, I have lived outside the USA for 11 years and traveled a lot. This hospital felt like a Third World country experience. The services and the wait time for emergency is really bad. They make you do unnecessary tests and keep you longer than necessary just to make more money. This is a business facility for them, they are not there to help people. Avoid this hospital at all costs, otherwise it will end up costing you much much more! The lack of communication in this hospital and the total of competence is already a legendary but let me add to it and this is just one of many things that's happened so far the last couple of days . I had an infectious disease nurse come into my room this morning because I couldn't understand a word the nurse said on Saturday so the one today comes into my room and she asked me a question. And I answered can I do it this way instead . She said that's up to your insurance I'll find out for you I'll be back soon . Complete waste of over five hours. Waited in the waiting room for 4 hours. Went back, waited for another hour and forty minutes. All for them to tell me it was viral and just take over the counter medications. There wasn't any extensive testing done, just a rapid Covid test. I was having difficult breathing and that usually means I should have priority, but that was not the case here. Horrible staffing ratio. The was only ONE triage nurse in the emergency room to check patients in. Then, when I was taken back, there was no sense of urgency whatsoever. Like they didn't care how many patients were waiting. It was absolutely ridiculous. It's very possible to work efficiently and quickly. Never again. read more

Location is closest to my house, I was admitted for intense abdominal pain, and by the reviews and my parents standards I was admitted extremely quickly. I was basically lying around for 6 hours on IV medication but during that time I had a CAT scan and a nurse take my vitals multiple times. Got diagnosed with appendicitis, got a room and generally was left alone save for hourly vital checkups. The surgeon came in at 12:00 pm and promptly did the surgery, maximum op time must have been 45 minutes and there were no stitches. Doctor Hueng was extremely professional and I would recommend him as even though this was a minor incident, the man saved my life. The staff were overall very nice and helpful, in no way rude as I was there overnight and got to see multiple shifts. read more

RARITAN BAY MEDICAL CENTER - OLD BRIDGE - PERTH AMBOY / HACKENSACK MERIDIAN HEALTH One star is not fair, zero stars is better. Low budgets make staff to look to make profit against you - STAY AWAY The worst nightmare ever. Just entering in the ER front desk, you will see a lot of fluids in the floor, bathrooms were disgusting dirty, hallways, chairs, beds, they don't clean. Visited ER by 01/10/2023, they found Flu, discharge me with out any word for expectation about the sickness, just Tamiflu. 10 days later after the terrible experience in my life about this sickness, no sleeping at all because the hard cough, chills, fever, tremendous body ache, cold sweats vomiting, bad headache, weakness. I requested a telehealth appointment to get something can help me, medication mess my stomach, so on 01/21/2023 I went back to the ER at Raritan Bay Medical Center at Old Bridge, they made a lot of test. I was crying for the pain and fatigue, so a nurse ask me questions about if I want to kill my self or if want to hurt my self, I said NO, my husband was there and he said "that is not why she is crying, she is in pain and very exhausted", not matter what we said, they placed a false statement on my record "depression with suicidal ideation". Doctor came with results, "Your bloodwork is beautiful and lungs are clear" she said, but still coughing very hard, feeling that my body will collapse, but instead to send me home with a medication for the cough, she sent me to Crisis, they force me to go, because they just don't have any psychiatrist service over the weekend, they want me to spend the night there, and I will need to wait for a transportation to be transfer to a Perth Amboy location, my husband call the police to make report, after that, they said he wasn't welcome to stay with me or in the building, I asked for the bathroom, nurse made me walk through a urine in the floor and the toilet, because I was under supervision someone half-opened the door and my urine went to through the pant, they escorted me to Crisis, one of the nurses "Kianna" told me that everything is a privilege there, they denied me a phone call, or use the tv remote control for entertainment, or change my dirty clothes, or change the dirty sheets or provide more blankets, room was very cold. In the middle of the night a woman opened the metal door of the room and slam it hard, generating an indescribable noise, she did the same with the all next doors, I was very scared, later I felt a kick on my bed, nurse was asking me to wake up because she needs to take my blood pressure, I said NO, and ask her to leave the room, morning early same thing, a nurse said, "Hey wake up a transportation is coming for you" and she slid a tray on the floor, that was my breakfast. Transportation landed after 12 pm, they sent me to Perth Amboy location, my nurse assigned said "I will do everything in my power to get you out of here, since we have real patients who need your bed" hours and hours past and a social worker came and ask why I was there, same later with a Psychiatrist, same later with doctor's supervisor, same with a Team doctors and finally at 7.48 pm they discharge me with out my medication for the cough. No compassion, no respect, total disinterest in sick patients, especially mentally ill. All they want is to add labels to pass the bill. YES, still coughing, cold sweats, body ache, headache, nausea, fatigue, hard sneezing and no medication for my cough. but bills started to come. Emily Aguilar read more

DO NOT USE THIS HOSPITAL FOR EMERGENCY CARE! I was involved in a major motor vehicle accident where the airbags deployed and my vehicle was totaled. My fiancée and I wanted to get checked out to make sure we did not have any broken bones or internal injuries. I arrived around noon and left at midnight. I spent 6 hours in the waiting room and another 6 hours in the ER, mostly waiting for tests. As we were waiting and our pain got progressively worse, we had to self-medicate by purchasing Tylenol from the Hospital's pharmacy. During our 6 hour ER waiting room wait, we observed at least 4 people storm off and leave since they were not receiving any emergency care. One 93 year old woman was dripping blood onto the floor for 3 hours. Others lost patience after 4-5 hours of waiting and yelled at the staff. The batteries on our phones drained and I luckily had a family member come to the hospital with charging cords and some food/water to eat and drink. The staff were kind but clearly overworked. The workers have a tough job and have to also deal with emotional and upset patients. Talking to staff, it seems there are not enough beds for patients and there is little they could do but have patients wait. One security guard that we talked to said that one option might be to seek medical care at another provider. We decided to stick it out but didn't anticipate that the diagnostic exam would take 12 hours! I will never return to Raritan Bay Medical Center and I highly recommend that if you are in an emergency situation, go to another provider. read more

I had a very good experience at Raritan Bay in Old Bridge NJ. I had a procedure done as a outpatient and it went smoothly. All the staff knew how to do their jobs and were compassionate, considerate and had great attitudes. They should all be commended for the work they do every day to help save life's. My boyfriend got admitted last night for severe kidney stone pain. They admitted him last night and operated this afternoon. After over 36 hours of not eating, he still to this moment is waiting for a meal. He has also been waiting for a nurse to tend to him for pain medicine. The neglect is real. read more

I was in the er with my aunt who is a difficult patient because she just kind of goes off on a tangent and gives drs multiple symptoms that she really is currently suffering from. So we spent the better part of the day getting tests done, which I felt were all done in a timely manner. Everyone was kind and professional. I've heard a lot of bad stories about this hospital but I think they are doing a management change here and it seems like it's for the better. Intake was very quick, she saw a nurse immediately and the dr actually met her in the waiting room. There was a question of something possibly being wrong with her heart, and if that was the case I would have taken her to Robert wood, but all was well. read more

I would rather DIE then be brought to this Mickey Mouse hospital. My son got hurt yesterday at a Paintball location nearby. An employee of the event he worked weekends for took him to RB. He is 25 - 6' and about 220 lbs. He had torn ligaments, fracture in ankle foot and when we got there he was at the door in a wheelchair with a security guard ready to be wheeled to the car. He was in a cast of some sort and crutches. He was given 600 Mg of Motrin every 6 hours. ARE THEY INSANE. Torn ligaments and a fracture on crutches. Our son was crying when we took his paintball uniform off and tried to wash his body not touching the casted area which we put a plastic bag around. Tears poured down his face. I called Dr. Meredith Saulnier (also treated by M. Egan) and she said "well he is young - if you want to bring him back for reevaluation we can see him again, but generally we don't give stronger. He has to see an Ortho, which was in the directions. What is this a MONEY MAKING SCAM? BRING HIM BACK? So the next morning I called many Ortho doctors to get him seen right away, whom were recommended. We were fortunate for Wednesday morning but RB failed to give our son the CD of the injuries. Today I called and I spoke to Cindy, who told me all managers were in a meeting. I requested an immediate call back. 2.5 Hours later I CALLED THEM BECAUSE NO RETURN CALL and it was near lunch for them. I was told Cindy was off for the holiday - we don't know who you spoke to. I was then told THAT WE NEED TO DRIVE BACK FOR THE CD THAT THE ORTHO NEEDED - YET THE MGR LATER DIDN'T UNDERSTAND WHY HE WASN'T GIVEN IT. I WAS FURIOUS. TIMES are hard enough. I am out of work 16 months and my salary was depended on. My husband now working 2 jobs had to lose 2 days work to go pick the CD up. RB REFUSED TO SEND THE CD TO THE OTHO that needed it to see my son tomorrow, but would send it to one of their other hospitals. A supervisor called me abruptly and while I told her the story, she said "how can I help you". I said "you tell me - these are all the incompetent things and now you can't send the ortho the CD so my spouse doesn't lose 2 days of work when now he is the only one working. Needless to say, our son just started a good new job, which we hope he keeps. THEY ARE JUST A LOUSEY, INCOMPETIVE, LIARS, UNCOOPERATIVE HOSITAL. I would rather be left dead on the street before being seen here! read more

If i could give this hospital minus stars I would. I've had problems all the through trying to get x rays done at this hospital. Now they are billing me for a balance, after the insurance covered this in full. Try calling this hospital that's now called Hackensack Meridian Health, about disputing charges, and you can't even get a person on the phone. They keep transfering you to wrong depts when you try to call this hospital. I got a fax machine 3 times when I tried to reach Ben Hicks for help. He is now working on this problem as well. I had a friend who was there and the doctors there declared him brain dead. Days later he woke and was responding and moving. Every visit, he never has a blanket on, the nurse neglect him and never tuck him in. One day his breathing tube was out so I go to the nurse and she responded by saying "oh I heard the sound, I figured something was wrong". I was in the Raritan Bay hospital in old bridge. I went through the surgery for my feet. I had a best experience ever. The doctor who doing the surgery for me is Dr. WARREN A. PASTERNCK is nice and explain to me everything I need to know on for my surgery and what will happen after on my feet. The nurse is so good and nice, they help me to go through everything. Since I finish my surgery in the morning, the nurse come to me see if I need coffee or breakfast. Also tell me to lawn down until I clear my mind from anesthesia. During this time, the nurse come to me every half hour to check and record my heart beat and blood pressure see if everything is good. I think this is my best hospital experience ever. read more
