Incredible spot for car enthusiasts to see some of their icons from olden times rusting away. Plenty of old Mustangs, VW bus's, thunderbirds, trucks, etc. It has an eerie vibe to the whole place as the forest makes it a quiet resting place for these old cars that were a part of peoples livelihoods. I took some great photos and made great memories with some family members. Highly recommend a visit here if you love artwork, vintage cars, and taking photos! read more

This place was truly a unique experience. The amount of cars and trucks here is crazy. You can walk for miles in the woods taking everything in. They do provide a map so that you don't get lost along the way. I recommend wearing comfy enclosed shoes and bug spray! read more

Thank you Kristin for holding such a great Yelp event. This is a photographer paradise where there is so much greenery and vintage vehicles to shoot and use as back drops. I can see why so many people come here for their photo shoots. Their rustic background clashing with a beautiful model is a great concept. There is 30 acres of the museum to walk through. During the Yelp event, it was starting to get dark so we all hung around the indoor structure and I managed to get photos all around the car museum on the outside. I wish I could have seen the pavilion. There is also a Halloween event held annual at the museum and a "trail" for the spooky event if you are interested. If you love vintage cars and want to see come to their Halloween event, this is a great combo. read more

Wow! What an interesting place! Collector's envy might set in! What started out as a junkyard has turned into a car museum with over 4500 Old American Cars spread over 7 miles of trails ...almost 40 Acres There is much more to see inside as well! Kristen, despite the thunderstorms and rain, this was a great place to hold a Yelp OTP event. This is a very unique tribute to old cars and trucks. The old vehicles are spread across the property and the inside areas of this car museum are fun to see. Trent Mayo (@trentmayomusic) provided some great vocals and guitar throughout the evening. He has an amazing voice and could sing almost any song that were requested by the Yelp guests. The BBQ (pulled pork and chicken) from Jay's of White, GA was also very good. I'm really torn about this place because how you rate it pretty much depends on who you are and what your background is. I'm a lifelong "car guy". I've raced them, restored them and I suppose worshipped them, my whole life. So that's how I ended up here during a weekend gathering of car show tv hosts and other friends that was going on nearby at the Savoy Museum (which is fantastic, 5 stars, by the way). It's $20 to get in Old Car City USA and I think $30 if you are shooting photos with a DSLR or SLR. It's huge. 40 acres and 7 miles of trails. Old rusty cars are everywhere. So this is my dilemma, they are all interesting but a few are rare, special examples of someone's life work that deserve to be saved and these folks are not selling, or saving anything here. Tourism is the family business, not car sales or service. So do I recommend it? Well, it's fascinating. And hot. And there's mosquitoes. (If the owner offers you spray, take it) But the pics I took are beautiful in a haunting way. The owner says this is the number one tourist attraction in GA. Who knows but it's worth a visit, maybe not in August or in the afternoon when I was there but be prepared to be a little sad when you see something that should be driving down a beach somewhere but instead is rotting in the woods... When I first heard about this place, it was on TV. But in person, it definitely gives you a different wibe. It acres of cars and could believe how Mother Earth has taken over the landscape. Fix the cars. So sad to see the cars rusting and deteriorating. Cannot understand why they are not refurbished so they do not rot.

Plan your visit. You could spend at least 2 hours here is you like photography. There were so many different paths you can take to see more and more vehicles. I love that each time I visit here there is something new to see. I've gone at least 3 times so far and you also get some good exercise while touring this place. I always take bottle waters and my hiking backpack when I go here, its loaded with my camera gear. I love spending hours here just to photograph everything and to see the new work. This is a cash only business. There is a ATM Machine inside at the front entrance. $30 a person is alot but it's worth it! If you are taking kids make sure they are comfortable walking a long distance. You could take a stroller but this is like a junkyard. You are at your own risk so wear some sneakers as well, and watch your step. read more

Under the shade of tall pines trees, in the narrow path of the woods, there is a place that is old car heaven. After years of shiny chrome, fast rides, glamor & faithful service to the humans, this is a place there cars come to rest for eternity. Rust is coloring over chrome with array of colors, from burnt orange to green & blue; wine & trees hug & trail around windows & mirrors, and soft, plushy moss replaces seat cushions. Stacked in most unusual poses, or just peppered around trees & benches, with needles falling on old hoods, they look at you with those thoughtful car light eyes as you walk around... This place is truly one of a kind. If you are a car lover or want to take a field trip with your camera this is the place to go! It is a breath taking place full of times long ago. A hauntingly beautiful landscape. 34 acres/ 6miles - wear comfortable shoes (be mindful of the paths if there has been rain there will be puddles). Also layer up depending on the season some areas are thickets of trees. Right off the main road. Plenty of Parking and overflow across the street. Weird hours/days check the website for info. Also BRING CASH ($25 per person if you are taking photos)or be prepared to use the atm (which is as old as some of the cars!) Staff was not very friendly and you check in via a writing pad along with all of the other visitors of the day... Overall one of a kind experience! A must see if you are in the area. read more

If you like to look at old cars it can be very interesting. You walk around and see all sorts of history cars, busses, motorcycles. But they charge you extra if you want to take photographs. I get it ....it is definitely a great place to take professional artistic photos...but for the average person? Come on..I'd like to take a few. read more

Th ought I would be able to find parts for a vehicle, but the place is just for photographers to take pictures and everyone to watch old cars rust into the ground instead of restoring. One of my favorite finds of all time. Great place to stop and wander around for hours and even better if you're practicing your photography skills! My father used to take me to historic car shows when I was young and this 'junkyard' dig up some very happy childhood memories! Also, they're pet friendly so I brought all 3 of my dogs with me to walk around which was a nice change of pace. You'll never find anything like this! read more

We made a trip to see Old car city USA with our son and yes it's not cheap to visit but for us it was worth every penny. We walked together, looked at several cars that no longer exist on the roads of America. We reveled in rust and twisted steel. We talked of fastbacks and split windows, Edsels and Packards. We thought about the people that drove these 4 wheel metal monsters, most made right here in the USA by hard working American folk. We saw trees that had grown right through old cars and trucks. We laughed at signs placed throughout with history tid bits and words of wisdom. From what we read this was where a collection of totaled vehicles began and grew. They are slowly returning to the earth. It's a fun place to walk and talk with your family. Take a few pictures and just relish in the ways of the past. It's art, history, junk, rust, trees, nature and 7 miles of trails. Just do it! read more

A little pricey. We paid $50 for two. I guess we were assumed to be photographers? Because non photographers pay $15? You need more than two hours to see the entire place! It's a unique find in Georgia and definitely underrated. There is so much to see! So many different kinds of cars! If you're a car enthusiast than this is your heaven! It's full of the most iconic cars ever. Well laid out. It is a photographer's paradise. But with 20 million people unemployed the $30 charge to walk through with your camera seems a bit excessive. if you wanted to make two or three trips back you'd end up spending $120 just to walk around taking some pictures of some amazing cars. I think they're trying to capture some money from the professionals to use these to make money with which may warrant a higher price for them but for the average photographer this place is freaking expensive. read more

At one time, automotive junk yards dotted roadsides across rural America. These junk yards were considered an eyesore, so municipalities often forced the owners to put up fences so the public wouldn't need to witness the collection of wrecked cars as they drove past. However, few early junk yards remain today. When scrap metal prices shot up years ago, most junk yards sold off their old cars for scrap metal, the now antique junk cars then hauled away and crushed. Old Car City is truly unique, an enormous intact old junk yard with *thousands* of antique cars and trucks dating from the 1930s to 1970s. It is now completely overgrown in a dense Georgia pine forest that covers dozens of acres. Paths through the forest make exploring these rusty reminders of America's automotive golden age a "stroll in the park." Trees actually grow up through some cars, and most vehicles are covered in a blanket of pine needles, moss, rust and pealing paint. The entrance to Old Car City is decorated with whimsical southern folk art to put you in the proper mood. The sign says inside see Elvis 's gold Cadillac. It's $5 to get in. It's worth more. Elvis's ride is in there, or at least it's gold and could be. What else is back there is a gold mine is rusted wrecked relics of the golden age of America's automobile age. They've got everything from Packards to desotos. Acre after steel winged era of Detroit 's finest. Some of it's a little over grown buts you can wear out a pair of hush puppies seeing everything from muscle cars to Edsels. Grown ups will remember kids will explore and marvel at the size and grandiose styles. It makes for an easy fun afternoon once the serious business of museum visiting is done. If you don't feel like digging through it all you can get an eyeful sitting by the gate waiting on the younguns. read more

First let me say that I saw a piece on Old Car City USA on CBS Sunday Morning show last summer and I thought where is this gem? Lo and behold it's north of Atlanta and within a day's drive. So I planned a visit. For those not used to southern heat and humidity, August might not be your best bet. And bring mosquito repellant with you!!! And carry it with you!!!! Don't leave it in the car thinking you have applied enough! They have cans of it as you check in and pay admission, but it is far from sufficient and required me to make a return trip to re-up on the mosquito repellant application while I was there. The mosquitos are ever present and they did their level best to feast on me as much as possible. With the temperature in the high 90's, I begrudgingly wore jeans, but a short sleeve shirt. Huge mistake. Should have worn long sleeves in August. The property is huge and I spent four hours taking pictures ($25 admission to take pictures, $15, if not). I was hungry, hot and bug-bothered, so four hours was as much as I could endure. But you can't imagine the treasures of cars that you just don't see anymore. Classics from the 40's, 50's and 60's in the golden age of classics like the Chevrolet Bel Air, Desoto, Hudson, and other glorious models that once ruled the roads. And plenty more if you're a fan of 70's models too! This place used to be a pick and pull lot, but over the years, just became a photographers paradise where the sunlight dances between the foliage on these old classics. There are rows and rows, some of which can hardly be seen in the thick overgrowth of summertime. I made a return trip in early March and I have to say that despite the cold morning, the mosquito factor is zip! The overgrowth has subsided due to the winter cycle and you can see a bit more of some vehicles that aren't as covered as they get in the summer. So WELL worth a return visit and also to cover some area that I didn't have time for during the previous visit. This time sweater, jeans, tennis shoes, the whole bit. And it had rained a day or two earlier, so the mud between some of the long avenues of cars required a little resourcefulness to skirt the puddles. No doubt my shoes and socks were soaked and mud splattered by the time I left. The temperature had surely warmed up as well. Again, worth a return visit and the cooler temperatures were well worth a repeat visit to see and photograph these gems! Don't forget in the main building there is an owner gallery on the second floor with decorated Styrofoam cups that is not to be missed. The owner is surely talented with a ball point pen! This is a very unique place. Haunting yet beautiful. They say it is a photographer's paradise. I would agree. You can spend the better part of a day taking the greatest pictures and still not see but a small parcel of the 4400 cars along the six miles of trails. We just went this past week and the fall weather was perfect. Sunny and mild. The colors vivid. The cars rusted and still. We can imagine the history as you pass Hudson, Desotos, Nashes and other names long gone. It's somber at times, and poignant and beautiful at others. The owner Dean is friendly and welcoming. Rockey comes around and points your way to see some of the wonders. Go for the day but be prepared to plan a quick return. One day is hardly enough. read more

From a car lovers stand point, it hurts me to see these cars laying to rot. Many of them have very usable parts on them that are getting harder to find for those of us that build old cars and hot rods... From a photographer standpoint, I wasn't too thrilled about the extra $10 they charge you if you want to take photos. That being said, the property is huge and the cars are countless. I shot a few hundred photos in the couple hours I spent there and I only saw about half the cars. I look forward to going back with a stash of film and shooting a few hundred exposures on film next time. For $25 I want to spend as much time there as I can and take as many photos as possible. I would definitely recommend it for photographers who don't mind spending some cash to get some great photos. read more

I read about this place online and we had to check it out. We went after Thanksgiving and most of the leaves had fallen. The place is an automotive junkyard. The guy who took our cash was what some would say a hillbilly (I wasn't sure if he was for real or it was act). He was a nice guy and had some stories to tell. The property is huge and it is fenced in so you couldn't really get lost, but it could feel like it. There are hundreds if not thousands of wrecks in this place. There seemed to be some order that they were organized. Many from the 40's through the 70's and some still had license plates on them. This is definitely a photographer's dream. We took our time and were there for about 90 minutes. I took over 70 photos. read more
